-Cyrus smiled and drew himself out of the shadow of a tree and leaned against it, a safe distance away for him to be able to respond to any attack-
I see why you wanted to hide this from Edmund and Erik...

Jonathon jumped and backed away, forming a crystal dagger in his hand. "What are you doing here? If you came to kill him, get lost." He wasn't usually like this, but he wasn't going to let Cyrus kill the spider without a fight.

-Cyrus smiled and closed his eyes. He waved his hand, and Jonathon's shadow leaped up and snatched the crystal out of his hand. The shadow pulled it down and the dagger vanished inside it. Cyrus opened his eyes again as the dagger shot up from the shadows at his feet and he grabbed the dagger and examined it-
No need to fret. I do not in the slightest intend to kill an endangered species. I am fascinated how the venom works, but this is more of a courtesy call.
-He balanced the blade on his finger with the blade pointing into his skin, and a drop of blood ran down his finger before the shadows shattered the crystal-
You are worrying Edmund and Erik to the point of exhaustion. I don't see why you are worrying them so unnecessarily since there are ways to keep such a creature safe without leaving it in the wild where the next dark being that finds it would be likely to kill it.

"I'm not leaving it in the wild. Leaf and Virginia have agreed to make sure he's safe until I can find a way around Edmund's allergy." Jonathon didn't like shadow beings, especially when they took control of his own shadow. But, since Cyrus was a friend of Alinese's, Jonathon laid off. "I didn't ask for their worry. They're just overreacting."

Don't forget Erik...He is also a vampire, but he just doesn't need as much blood...
-Cyrus licked the blood from his finger and smiled-
I am glad they are going to keep it safe. I have always been interested in creatures of lore, either dangerous or otherwise. Call me crazy, but it's fun.
-Cyrus slowly walked out of the shadow and into the light. Cyrus' own shadow formed a circle around him and he looked down at it-
Hey now, cut that out.
-The shadow went back to normal, but pouted-
They worry because you keep disappearing without telling them where you are going and they are worried that you aren't caught in anything dangerous or bad since you are gone so often. You aren't really doing anything dangerous for you, but it still doesn't mean that they are out of line for caring and worrying.

Jonathon looked away. "Again, they're overreacting. I haven't come home in any harm, and Edmund can tell if someone is in trouble. He's letting his imagination run wild. As for Erik, I can't really judge him. He's a natural worrier. Still, they don't have to worry."

Parents worry about their children, more than you can imagine. It's in their nature, especially when their children won't tell them why they are gone for hours at a time.
-Cyrus shrugged and turned around to walk away-
Just get this business over with soon so you don't have to be shady around Edmund and Erik.

Parents. I'm not even their son. He shook the thought from his head, not wanting to think that way. He loved Edmund and Erik as if they were his actual parents. "Yeah....Whatever...."
