yellow biggrin i've been interested in manga for a long long time so i got to know about the supplies. Since standard story manga is black and white, you need black and white drawing ink, drawing (calligraphy is fine) pen nibs, a pencil and eraser , and screen tones biggrin .
PEN NIBS: i just bought some nibs at Joanns and it came in a set 4laugh then fer white ink i just bought a white gel pen. For the pen nibs, look for the G-Pen, erm it looks like this (because its not always called the G-Pen): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DaCQjVQG7_Y/SwKXcKcc23I/AAAAAAAAAEA/R16Em0jSvFc/s1600/G-Pen.JPG
a long brush would come in handy, esp. when inking and coloring your masterpiece illustration.
DIGITAL ART:and Photoshop/ SAI is good to have too when you want to draw or color. i personally think SAI is better though. it has more of a COPiC look to it... dramallama
COLORING MANUALLY: Colored inks are the top choice, but COPiCs are also handy too.Theyre great for coloring, but they tend to be really pricey. 6 dollars per marker :OOOOO and if you wanna set, better start saving for about 300 dollars... Pigma Pens, Sakura Liner pens, brush pens... all pretty good for coloring smile
SCREEN TONES: errr screen tones... they dont seem to be in stores a lot, or at least where i live, so try ordering them online, along with a standard utility knife for cutting and scraping :3
