Rufus blinked, wondering what Hydra had in mind, but nodded his head anyways. "Okay. I'll see you in a little bit, Miss Hydra." He slithered off towards the temp dorms. Aside from a canteen and a change of shirts, he carried no more. Dangerous, yes, but it was his life from the moment he could support himself on his own tail.

Riley was happily watching the kits sleep, their bellies full. They looked so adorable that it made him want to squeal. But he didn't want to make noise and wake them up. As Mark came in, he looked up. "How'd the talk- Oh. Um...yeah." He looked down a bit. "That black dog creature... Much darker than Cerberus..."

Hydra made her own way home, stepping into her modestly sized home and straightening a few things before Rufus arrived. Mostly airing out the guest room a bit so it smelled of fresh air, instead of of having an 'unused room' smell with a hint of the scent of the last male to come over. Hydra didn't have many personal touches to the home, leaving it feeling large and roomy because of a lack of clutter or unnecessary objects. The air was usually kept dry, but warm. The optimum arrangement of those with scales and reptilian natures.
Once she felt things were settled, she went outside, waiting until she saw Rufus to let him inside with a small smile. "Make yourself at home." This was not the first--and possibly not the last--time she would open her home up to a male looking to be her mate.

Mark nodded in the affirmative, gently petting one of the kiddens and settling the little one more secretly against Riley. He kept his voice low and quiet, going on. "Kiseki ... wants to talk to him."

Rufus nodded his head and stepped inside. "Pardon the intrusion." The atmosphere was a familiar and welcome feel to his scales as he came inside. He looked around, observing things carefully before heading for the empty room that smelled of fresh cleaning. He sat his small pack down and looked at it. As it was, it was fine. The whole place was warm and dry, so he didn't need any blankets.
"And I thought the tempt dorms were nice. Does everyone like in places like these, here in HQ?"

Riley was silent. "I want to ask why, but... I assume he is the one she spent the past five years with. Hm...I wonder if there's some level of attachment going on. I'm never about letting her seeing him again then."

"Well, usually mated pairs get homes this size," Hydra replied, "but since I do a lot of work keeping the peace for experiments and such, I got a bit of a bonus when I moved out. Though all the homes are able to be specially altered for those of different species."
She chuckled, heading for the kitchen. "You want a snack?" she asked, opening up the fridge. A majority of the space inside was reserved for fresh eggs, along with a few frozen rodents, just in case she felt hungry for meat but didn't want to go out and catch something alive. Not to mention some packets of dried bugs, to add flavor and protein.

Mark sighed, reaching over and lightly taking Riley's hand in his own, wanting the reassuring contact with the other. "... I'm nervous," he admitted, not sure he knew why though. Having someone that wasn't you in your head? It was an old fear of his. Sure, he'd come to terms with the We and the Voice more-or-less but ... this was an unknown. And unknowns were scary.

Rufus listened to Hydra's explanation, understanding that things ran different in HQ. Things here were more family orientated. "I see. That's a nice system of allocation they have here. I spent most of my time in the markets, watching how distribution went. Such an elaborate set up that truly benefits all. A shame the humans can't ever put it to good use..."
When asked for a snack, he thought about how hungry he was. He wanted to turn her down, but she was also offering. "Um...maybe a egg or two, if you don't mind."

Riley could tell Mark was scared. Carefully moving, he put his arms around the other. "I'll be here. And we have others as well. Corin and Ula, they are old and strong enough to support us both."

Hydra took one egg and put it into her own mouth, swallowing the item whole before grabbing another for Rufus. She then went to the living room and pulled up her home computer screen, getting some work done. Hydra didn't instruct Rufus to do anything, figuring any potential-mate of her own could find his own things to do to occupy his time.

Mark leaned lightly against Riley, giving a little sigh of relief and nodding. "I know ..." he felt himself calming at the warm feeling of Riley so close, and the other's scent in his nose along with the smells of kiddens and milk. Mark nuzzled Riley, giving the feline a little smile. "Thank-you, Riley ..." the other always knew how to make him feel better. "Hm. I still don't know if I can actually get him out though ..." Mark thought about what Kiseki had told him, shrugging and standing.
"Well, nothing more to do than try, I suppose." Himself, the We, and the Voice asleep for Anubis to come out, huh? Now how to go about doing that ...

Rufus took the egg and gave her thanks before eating it. He savored the taste before seeing Hydra go off to do her own thing. So, in the meantime, he decided to look around some more, taking inventory. The only place he stayed away from was Hydra's room. He took more interest in the laundry room. A giant metal contraption to handle laundry. He knew about them, but they rarely used them. On the off chance that they had actual money, they used to to buy more materials to trade to HQ.

Riley smiled, patting Mark on the head. "Besides, we just had kits. If this Anubis tries anything, he'll regret it. I'll give him a verbal lashing that'll make his head spin."
