▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri gave it a bit of thought, but soon shrugged and rubbed the back of his head. "Honestly, I wouldn't know where to begin. Somewhere reasonably close to here would be a good start...do you have any ideas?" He asked.

Lillie giggled and started to walk towards the door gently pulling Yuri along. "I think you'd like the gardens. I sure do." She told him. She was going to take him to the gardens that she knew like that back of her had.

Maybe food would cheer him up...
Garen shoved open the door to the dining hall, nearly bashing another student in the face with the portal as he walked in and glanced around for anyone who might give him trouble. He was well aware of how he looked; dark skin, blonde hair, and pointed ears. He was a walking contradiction that just screamed 'mutt'. Back at the orphanage, he'd been teased relentlessly over his appearance but he always maintained he was full Dragon regardless. As his red eyes scanned the room, he moved toward the line for food. He had an insatiable appetite, but when he got hungry he was particularly ornery. He took his place at the end of the line and waited, stepping forward as others exited. When he got to the buffet he wanted to tip the whole stand over. Was it too much to ask for a school to serve hot wings? Garen grit his teeth as he grabbed two slices of pizza instead and, of all things, strawberry milk.
The fiery-looking boy found an empty table and sat down. He had no interest in getting to know any of the other students around here. He'd probably only be around for a week or so anyway before getting kicked out like he'd been from all the other school he'd been placed in. Garen took a bite of the sausage pizza and hunched. While they told him Reed's was going to be different from the human schools they'd tried before, he failed to see it. Same milling student body, same haughty staff, teachers that were younger than him... He took another angry chomp out of the cheesy triangle.

Liz's stomach growled loudly. "I'm so hungry right now." She moaned as she walked slowly, and opened the doors to the dining hall/cafeteria. A small smile curved upon her lips. Liz looked around and then walked to the line quickly. When it was her turn, she grabbed pizza and some juice. Her blue eyes looked around again, and she found a table with no one at it. She walked toward it and took a seat. Liz took a large bite of the pizza, chewed, and swallowed. Liz smiled,"I feel better."

Alea entered the dining room. It was filled with people. Most of the tables were full but there were one or two that had only a few people. She walked over to the buffet table and scaned it while she waited her turn. When she finally got there she put a baked potato with sour cream and bacon bits(real bits of bacon not that fake stuff) on her plate.
The elf moved out of the way so that people could pass by while she looked for a table. By now none of the tables were empty and had at least one or two people sitting at them. One of the tables interested her because of the boy that sat there. He looked interesting enough so she decided to join him.
"Hi." Lea said as she sat across from the pointy eared boy. He didn't all that happy. Maybe I can make him feel better. she thought as she took a bite of her potato. "So hows it going?" she asked when she finished chewing, "My name is Alea by the way." the young elf added.

As Garen added food to his stomach, his mood, mercifully, began to lighten. After shoving the last bit of crust in his mouth he ran a non-greased hand through his spiked hair and just as his palm passed his eyes he glimpsed a girl taking a seat adjacent to him. He glanced over her quickly. Great, an elf... He hated elves. Not because the race had done anything to him but there had been many related slurs tossed his way. Sure he had the strength of a dragon but his features were far too fair to back his might and when one wields fire as destructively as he did, it's insulting to be lumped in with the tree-huggers.
Garen finished chewing as the girl spoke. Why did elves always have to try and be nice? He grimaced initially at the small smile on her lips as she ate but as he stared at her he couldn't keep one corner of his own mouth from twitching upward. He suddenly grit his teeth and looked away. Stupid women and their good looks... He leaned back in his seat and folded his arms over his chest. "Garen." He only offered his name in reply at first before turning his sights back to the girl. He looked more inquisitive this time than venomous but there was still a tinge of annoyance in his voice. "Why are you here?"

It was obvious that he didn't want her to be there, but she stayed none the less mostly because she was hungry and didn't feel like finding another spot. Garen. Fairly simple name, nothing special, it made it easy to remember.
"Dependes on what way your asking." she replied to his question taking another bite. "If you asking about why im at the school, its cause parents sent me here hoping I would turn out like my brother. Like thats ever going to happen. I changed most of my classes before they sent the application." she said leaning back. "But your probably wondering why im sitting here. Answer is it was the only place to sit really."

The dragon listened intently and then scrunched his nose when she finally answered his question the way he'd meant. So she didn't pick this table just to tease him? "Oh." He looked away again. Her brief story of her parents and brother piqued his curiosity but he didn't want to be seen consorting with an elf, it'd only make his outward image worse. Garen shifted nervously and then looked back to Alea again. "So what classes are you taking?" He hated his need for information sometimes. His quest for answers usually got him in trouble more often then not but dragons were supposed to be sage-like so it must be natural for him to ask questions...

Lea watched as Garen went from unhappy to nervous. "Lets see, music, magic, photography, sword play 101, computers and rock climbing and spelunking. My parents wanted to put me in politics, elvish, cultural studies, speech and debate, economics/finance and leadership." the elf replied, "What about you?".
This was probably the only conversation she had had with another student since she had gotten to this school.

Garen found himself nodding as the elf listed off each class. It didn't seem like they had any together until she mentioned Sword Play 101. He'd signed up for the class, but being new, he hadn't gotten his official list of courses yet. Maybe he'd be in there with her. He unfurled his arms and reached for his drink, taking a sip of the strawberry milk a moment after. Perhaps he'd change one of his classes to rock-climbing as well. He liked exploring and it would be good exercise. Suddenly, Garen blinked and realized what he was thinking. He was trying to find ways to spend more time with this Alea. He quickly set his glass down and shrugged his shoulders in response to her question. "I dunno yet. Nothing you'd be into, anyway."
Garen was going to leave it at that but there was a nagging in the back of his mind. Why would Alea be interested in spelunking? Everything about her said 'elf', but elves were notorious for their hatred of the underground. It was open skies and the forest or it felt imprisoning from what he'd heard. He looked down to his empty plate remembering he had the same fear. He couldn't stand being below the surface. He wasn't a big fan of water either but that was natural. Dragons and water just don't mix! Unable to hold his tongue, Garen decided to just ask. "So why cave diving?"

Why cave diving? Alea thought about it for a moment. She hade never really thought of the reason she liked caves or old abandon buildings. There was just something about them that she liked. It was then that she figured out her answer. "Its like theres a whole other world undernieth us. One thats there to explore just like we do above ground." the girl tried to explain to Garen.
"I mostly like to do urban spelunking though. The old buildings that humans make are really quiet interesting." she added smiling. Lea had always brought her camera to take pictures whenever she had went on her little expiditions during the night when her parents were asleep. Something about doing something rebelious made her feel alive and being in or around the almost ghost like buildings were one of her few ways to feel at peace.

Ah, urban spelunking. Garen let a smile grace his lips. He was a fan of exploring ruins, not so much buildings as cities carved straight into mountainsides. The dragon's brow creased as he recalled one such place that fit the girl's description. During his wandering off campus, he'd seen a old abandoned house tucked back in the woods. He'd heard rumors to the effect that it was haunted but he didn't believe in ghosts. Maybe he could spook her with it. His smile grew to a bit of a grin. "I know of a place around here like that. Wanna check it out when you're done?" While his intent was mischievous, his reasons were decisively less so. Curse puberty... he was over a hundred years old but... well dragons were late bloomers.

"Sure, why not." Lea replied quickly finishing her lunch before picking up Garen and her own plates and putting them into the bin labled "used plates". She then turned back to the boy, a large smile on her face and her hands on her hips.
"You ready?" she asked and waited for his response.

Garen was surprised by the speed which Alea used to finished her meal and swiped the table clean. He gulped down the last of his drink to match and stood to place the glass in the proper bin. Her readiness to go off with him was alarming but the dragon wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to get even minor revenge on a member of elf-kind. He straightened his tunic and shoved his hands in his pockets. "I'm good." He couldn't quite remove the smirk from his face; the girl's smile was infectious. By days end though, he'd have her screaming. He brushed passed her toward the door and left, leading the way to the old mansion.
