Overseer knows we all have busy, chaotic, hectic lives. Some of us are so busy, we hardly have time to talk about what's been going on. Well, when you do have the time, come have a sit here with me and tell me what's new in your life! It's been a while, after all.
Consider this a makeshift potluck get together of sorts. smile Feel free to tell as little or as MUCH as you want! Aru's listening. ♥
I guess for anyone who's interested, and for the sake of getting things rolling, I suppose I'll go first.
Nothing much has changed down here in Hawaii with me. With summer coming to a close, Hawaii like other places is feeling the heat big time. I've been a lot more liberal about wearing a lot less clothes, but that's just how we roll here in Hawaii, I suppose. I haven't found work yet, and am resorting to finding a basic job, like working at McDonalds or something like that. I have nothing against people who work at minimum wage jobs. Hell, they're doing better than me by just having a job. It's respectable work. But enough about that.
So some time ago, maybe a month before my anime convention in April, I decided on something big. Next year, in the very beginning of May, I will be moving to San Francisco. I've never been so both excited and scared shitless at the same time.
It's time for me to leave the life I'm in. I will miss Hawaii so damn much, and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this, but I feel like at this point in my life, if I don't do this now, I'll never be able to escape and start a life for myself. I'll just be doomed to sleeping in the living room on a broken leather couch forever, rotting away. So this, this is the beginning of better things for me. Hard, but good things for sure. (That's what she said.) Ironically enough, after I made the decision to go to San Francisco, I made a really good friend online out of literally nowhere, only to find out that person lives in SF too. Worse yet, as days go by I'm starting to think I have those gross things called feelings. Mush aside, things have been pretty low, too. Got through a theft, some bad friendship break-offs, and I lost a tooth in a fight. Har harr.

'Lost tooth in fight - Gained 50 Manliness'
Yeaaaaaa... moving is troublesome. I happen to moving too. This Friday. The thing is, Singapore ain't very big. I'm just moving to another part on our pathetic island. I can still take a train back to where I live now. That's Singapore for you. As long as you have $30 you can take a taxi anywhere. My comp will probably be packed up tonight crying
Why the suddenly decision to move, anyway? Isn't Hawaii an awesome place?

Haha, happy moving, Bapp!
Hawaii is the same way, boring little islands. The Bus can take you anywhere.
Well, Hawaii IS great. And when I say that, I'm talking about the Hawaii I know that others take for granted. That fact aside, I decided to move to San Francisco because i'm tired of living with my family. I love them a lot, but to be very brief, my home life is less than tolerable. Moving somewhere OFF the island is a good way to leave my troubles behind, force me to not run back home screaming, allow me to focus on ME for once, and also ensure I never run into my ex as much as possible. The last part I honestly couldn't give two sh*ts about, but that's just a perk, haha.
The cost of living in Hawaii is horrible, so I can't move out on my own anyway, and I don't have any friends interested in moving out on their own any time soon either. While San Francisco's cost of living isn't exactly cheap either, I do have a friend there I've known since forever, and he's been up there for a long time now, looking for a roommate, and a bit lonely up there by himself. It all just seemed to work.
I also plan on returning to school. If I can destroy mountains and part seas to preform amazing miracles, maybe I stand a shot at an art school up there. I'd be happy. But, baby steps. And that's saving money until I get there, so I have a decent amount in my bank while I first transition to SF.
Also, $30 dollars to anywhere Singapore? Sweet.
I took a cab from one end of Honolulu to the other and spent $30 dollars right there and then. As painful as it was to pay that much just to reach a hospital, $30 dollars is a LOT cheaper than $300+ for an ambulance.

Moving out on your own? That's... beyond scary. D; I mean, I live alone in my dormitory, sure, but I have a lot of relatives here that are only a phonecall away if I need them.
I can still relate, though. I've been placed in a situation where I could either make this one big decision that will define everything else that followed in my life, or do nothing and stay in the shithole I was in ********. It was scary, but I'm glad I made that decision. I feel like I'm actually going somewhere now, you know?

Just making my mind up to doing it and telling myself that it's going on, I got a taste of that 'going somewhere' feeling, and I like it. I think that's why as time goes on it gets a little easier. What's scary is after I make this move, a lot of things I do immediately after will also be big decisions. But I suppose that could be said with just about everything in life.
Worst case scenario, I scrap money to take my a** back home to Hawaii, figure out how to live. It wouldn't be any worse than what's going on now, and that just sounds like more incentive for me to get up there as quick as possible, knowing this is pretty much the proverbial 'can't sink any lower' point.
Anyone else wanna tell me what they've been up to? Haha.

Mm. Having a sense is direction really is a refreshing experience. x3 Well, here's to hoping that everything turns out well!
Nothing major going on with me at the moment, so there isn't really much to share. xD Just... school, online shenanigans, video games, and more school. The usual routine.

Anyone else see the irony of Aru's avi being dressed like a doctor in a thread that's reminiscent of a session with a shrink?
(I'd take a turn on the couch, but I can't stay online long; gotta turn in soon for work tomorrow)

Aie Braddah!
You do what you gotta do, but I tell you what...The weathers is hella cold up der so you better come wit da parkas on!
Das why I end up in LA. I even freeze here though.
San Fransisco has good vibes to it though. Very open culture and good people. If it weren't so cold I would thing about moving up there myself.
It will be an awesome adventure though, and what is life if you can't have adventures! Moved to LA with 300$ in my bank account, what ever could fit in my car, and a couch to sleep on. I've had rough times, but I sure know I was living!
Not much going on here for me. Just sick lately with my thyroid being out of wack. Have good days and have terrible days. The good days are getting a little more frequent though so that is always a good sign.
Weather here hasn't warmed up as much as it does so it's been a cold summer. Hate going to the beach only to find the water is still 65 degrees. I want my warm Hawaiian waters back where I never have to think about pulling on a wet suit.
