Astral shook her head slowly, partly in sadness and partly in anger, as she rose to her feet. She shamelessly slipped out of her school uniform - why should she feel shameful? -and dived into the water to rid herself of the remainder of the white make-up. She had no definitive features on her body as an ordinary human girl might, no nipples or body hair, no belly button. Just layers and layers of smooth iridescent blue scales, and three gills on each side of her torso, just on her ribs beneath her arms.
After a short while Astral rose to the surface once more, the white powder completely gone from her blue skin and her face with more capacity for expression.
"If this child is to be sent out after escaped or discharged experiments..." she pondered aloud, resting her arms on the dry floor of the shack while letting the water run over the rest of her body. "We'll have to find her before she finds us, and detain her in some humane way... And if that fails... we'll have no choice but to stoop to their level."
Her eyes were dark, brooding, unable to imagine any but the latter outcome. If this girl was the perfect weapon, as they said, then there would be no choice but to destroy her...

"That we could... but we could also head after this target we've been assigned. That'll be more fun than some witch girl, plus she might follow us if we go after the fish girl..." Luna said, partially thinking out loud. She froze suddenly, sensing something else entering the forest.
"Come," she ordered sharply, and broke into a soft lope. It wasn't long before she detected a girl, such a tiny girl, asleep with what appeared to be a dragon... Not risking words, she signed to Steel.
"Do you recognize her?"

[Living In A Shell With No Soul]

Xavier managed to not be phased as the woman stripped. But was that because she wasn't a woman? Well...not really at least. She was female, of course. But had no real female features. Her body was shaped like a humans, but with no similar characteristics. Scales in place of skin. Sometimes he wondered if the more they looked like machines or monsters, the easier it was to stay disconnected from them. Pondering this, he thought back to the alleyway. If the boy had ever seen him on the street, he wouldn't approach. His eyes, or his metallic weight and arms might scare the kid away. And besides, people these just days...well, they just...knew.

He nodded as Astral spoke. That child killed an entire militia team; highly trained professionals. Some even training since they were tots. If she's so powerful, she could have killed myself. But I managed to steer clear. his eyes were troubled; he had never abandoned his crew; rather, fought until the last one died. It was then that his brain had estimated his chances at survival...not good. I think that's the only way... he sighed, shaking his head. He had to remind himself that this wasn't an ordinary little girl they had to deal with.
