What the title really means is, "Hello, all who want to learn to speak Russian!" Like any language as you can imagine, Russian is not simple. It has hard pronunciation that you may not get at first. If you're willing to go through the lengthy process that I'm willing to show you, you will become an Expert. Later in the thread I will be posting voice clips that show how to pronounce each word. But, since right now I have left my computer at home- I can only SHOW how to pronounce it.

But first let me tell you a little bit about myself so you can get the full package.{ Im Robbie, or Ryaba.} I was born in Odessa, Ukraine (a state in Russia). Mother's name was Yelena, Father's name is Igor my Brother's name is Michael. If I tell you my story, you need to not say "SORRY," or "HOW DID YOU GET THROUGH THAT?" I don't need your pity comments. As I was saying I was born in Odessa, where my parents met. My dad has been having some trouble and so has my mom. They both haven't been having the best of luck. Until, my mother got pregnant again. She was having my brother. When my mother was going through labor, there was a complication. A doctor came out of the delivery room and said. "We can only save one. Your mother or your soon to be son." My dad talked it over with my mother. My father said he wanted my mother to choose. My mother chose, the baby. After that my father, brother and I, moved to Baltimore Maryland. Unfortunately, I barely know how to read ANY Russian letters. But I know how to speak fluently. And so, my father today is a single parent with a 16-soon to be-17 year old and a 12 year old.

So that pretty much covered all my surroundings/social life.

But, enough about me. Since this is still the first Post in the Russian Sub-forum, I will teach you a couple words to get you started. Privet; (pree-veaht), is Hello. Bye is, Either Davidania; (Dus-vee-dah-nee-ah), or Pacca; (puh-kah), except Pacca is a bit different. It means Bye, for now. And just a couple more are,How are you?=Kok di la?; (c**k-dee-lah), then if you are fine you say, Horashoe; (har-ah-show), but if you are not you say Nichivoe harochiva; (Nee-chee-voe-w har-oschee-vah). Hopefully, I've tought you enough to get you through a civil conversation right about now. Remember to feel free if you're going through difficulties learning what I've tought you so far-to PM me. I'm ALL open ears. Pacca, PoRusski thread.

Hope you don't mind, I'm gonna try helping out by putting your words into Cyrillic for you?

Privet привет (pree-veaht) - Hello
Dasvidania до свидания (Dus-vee-dah-nee-ah) - goodbye (formal)
Packa пока (puh-kah) - bye (informal)
Kak de la? как де ла? (c**k-de-lah) - How are you?
Harashow хорошо (har-ah-show) - reply to How are you? meaning good, well, or fine
Nichivoe harochiva ничевоё хорошиво (Nee-chee-voe-w har-oschee-vah) - reply to How are you? meaning bad or not well. (spelling on this one may not be right as I have never seen these words commonly we use мало or плохо which mean about the same thing)
