Well now that I have joined this guild I am utterly stupified at how uneducated I am! crying I'm shamefully embarressed about being a former fangirl... (I still get excited sometimes with the pretty rockers... but I love the music more then their asses....) Anyway, and since I am so behind and misinformed I want to broaden my horizons and find some of the great bands that are out there, that maybe aren't as main stream. Maybe some that are Visual Kei, (because I get my fill of those... oh pretty outfits! Oops my costumer and cosplayer side is showing again redface ) If you have ANY suggestions at all please let me know! I want to know more and listen to more music!

((Oh and because I have been asked this by a few people already the band in my sig is Luna Sea... but you probably already knew that... sweatdrop ))

It's great to hear that you're interested in going deeper into the rabbit hole. pirate But I'm not sure what exactly to recommend, seeing as I don't really know your tastes. Generally I'd say "ALL OF IT" but that's not helpful at all. sweatdrop

Anyway, to get you started, I have an idea. I found a podcast last month, The Many Freaks Show, which plays some good stuff. Some people don't seem to like the girl who runs the show, but whatever, that's their problem. The music is good and it's easy to access. I have no real complaints.

Also, if you like what you hear on that, you can look up the bands in the J Rock and Japanese Music rooms on soulseek. Soulseek owns my soul, I swear.

There's nothing wrong with liking visual kei or their outfits (they do put effort into their image) or just thinking they're hot as long as you don't forget they are a band - their music is the number one thing they are presenting to us. 3nodding

As for suggestions, first, I must pimp the Radio.blogs:

You can find lots of (hopefully new to you) music to listen to there.

Second, if you let us know what type of music you usually like, maybe we'll have some specific things to recommend.

Third, try THE BACK HORN biggrin I always recommend them to beginners - they're one of my favorite bands.

I listen to a lot of indies and odd little bands that no one knows of really... and I talk about them a little too much... or rather way too much *grins*

I like a lot of visual bands, but a good number of the bands i'm getting now are no where near visual.

Yeah, The Back Horn would be a good choice. I never knew more and more people like them. I just got into them, still in need of downloading more of their stuffs.
