I know some of you are probably thinking. How can meditation be dangerous? Well, when in meditation. You can have the power to ignore pain. If you are sitting in a way that is damaging to your legs, since you aren't the flexible... We'll use that as an example here.

Quite bluntly. Just because you aren't feeling it. Doesn't mean that the discomfort isn't affecting your body. You need to keep safe detachment and inappropriate or dangerous detachment in mind.

Good detachment~

Letting go of the stress behind the day you had.

Letting an old grudge go that isn't worth keeping that is holding back your focus.

Letting go of being distracted by the noise from the neighbors.

Bad detachment~

Ignoring pain from a bad sitting position.

Detaching from keeping in mind what you HAVE to keep in mind for that specific ritual.

Then, there is questionable detachment. For instance. Let's say someone you love is on your mind. But, the purpose of the meditation currently does not call for you to be thinking of them. If your mind is focused on them, it will distracted from your primary goal. So, detach yourself from the thought of your lover.

But, first make a thought to keep them in mind later, but not now because you're meditating. Literally, tell yourself this in your mind. Then, detach from keeping your lover on your mind. If the meditation has something to do with your lover, things are different and need to be tweaked accordingly.

It's a tricky topic. So, by all means double check with other sources before taking my word on it. I would hate if anyone went too deep in meditation because of me. I am just giving an overview from my personal experiences. Now that my basic point has been made.

~The basics of detaching for meditation~

1. Get into a comfortable position.

2. Double check to make sure you are in a position you can take and all details are sorted out.

3. Let your mind bring up whatever thoughts it wills. If something disturbing is seen, do not stop it! Face it, feel it. Detach from it.

4. The order of thoughts in order of detachment might go like this... Stress of the day and general current drama. Things being worked out in your head. People you are thinking about. Back ground noises around you. When you are at a point where background noises don't bother you. Then, make sure you relax. Then, when you feel you are ready. Start letting go of the feeling in your body and your senses. Don't think about it. Just do it and detach.

5. Find that calm serene place in your mind of calm peaceful nothingness.

I am not the best at explaining things so if anyone understands what I mean and knows of another way to explain it by all means please share. Bottom line, don't try to go deeper than you can handle and prepare a safe guard with a guardian or something to pull you out should you get too deep.

I would just like to add, for the pull out, make sure that it is as slow and gentle as possible. I find if I do it too quickly I get a headache.

ok now i by no means think harry potter is the leading expert and guide for those of us trying to study legitimate magick but it does get somethings right. one thing it got right is the amazing power of chocolate. if you're done with a particular large magickal spell or project or maybe just a meditation try eating some chocolate. plain hershey's milk chocolate works the best for me though feel free to experiment with other flavors

It's something with the caffeine, drink some coke or caffeine based drink if you get an energy headache, It helps. I don't get it but it works

i'd suggest chocolate over caffeine one because it is a tad bit healthier and two because it is more natural. the main point is grounding properly. by eating the chocolate you're particpating in a mundane task which helps to remind your soul where it should be. other things i've seen work, based on personal preference, is tea and coffee cakes.pretty much you go for simplicity with some suger in it
