... Well, there was a certain threshold of strength required for any sort of mauling and, thankfully for Kanda at least, said threshold was a far cry from the weak instability of a girl barely standing in the first place.
Any response she might've had for that statement of his was lost in a split second when the inevitable reaction seized her. It was just... there was something about the act of being grabbed that brought out all the wrong feelings-- but instead of the fight reflex, it was flight that tried to kick in... sort of. It just didn't work.
She jerked back so hard and so suddenly that she nearly knocked herself right off her own feet, back hitting the wall, eyes wide as saucers, every hair on her tail standing at needlepoint. "I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" she spluttered in one breath, practically hyperventiliating the apologetics, half-coherent at best.
... Yeah, Yossarian probably had the better end of the deal after all-- but that did not mean he really wanted to be there! Or uh... no, no he didn't, but WHY DID SHE HAVE TO MAKE RESISTANCE SO HARD?
No, seriously, she just couldn't have understood how difficult it was for any male to stave off a woman who'd quite literally thrown herself on top of him and was feeling up his entire torso simultaneously. His hands were at his side by force, and his muscles remained stiff and tense.
"... Loosening up... is not something I condone u-under the influence of a substance!" he blurted, quite awkwardly, and perhaps even turning a bit redder beneath that fur on his cheeks. Damn it all, his conviction still had a last stand or two! "You're not... we are not thinking clearly!"
Okay, that was kind of a point, but...
"Can you honestly tell me this is something you'd follow through with in the absence of destroyed inhibition!?"

.... ............
"Shae. It's Kanda." the Tabby said flatly as the girl freaked out into apologies away from him.. though it was a surprise he hadn't marveled at her miraculous ability to get up and walk on her own without him babying her.
Then again, with her behavior at that moment,he would have preferred if she was going to try and make a run for it in the middle of the night while being unable to recognize him or where she was. Ha ha. But still...
"You should calm down and go back to bed, Shae.."
PLZ? It would be one step to make everybody happier, if nothing else.
"...."
His inquiry did earn a pause from Asteria (though the feeling-up was still happening), who seemed to consider what it was she was actually being asked by him. Following that, she sighed and laid her head on his chest, purring weakly.
What was she supposed to answer that with?
"Only if I knew it was you....." she said after a moment, sighing again before she continued, "Because I love you.. and I trust you to not just leave me."

Kanda. ... Kanda. She knew that name, and she knew she knew it, even, but the pieces of the puzzle just weren't clicking amidst every other frantic thought in her head, aware of nothing but the wall pressing against her back, and her heart threatening to beat right out of her chest with that wild, unsilencing tick.
"... I-I... I can't," she all but choked after a moment of pause. Her voice was shaking as badly as the rest of it. It almost sounded on the verge of tears. "I don't want to, p-please, I can't... I-I don't want to go back there!..."
Back where? What was she even talking about in the first place? It just... seemed so fruitless and pathetic, watching someone so frail pleading so fervently against much of anything. She was between a rock (well, wall) and a hard place, and clearly not thinking straight... right?
And how was Yossarian supposed to answer that kind of statement, now? Aster had just dropped a pretty overwhelming bombshell right on top of him... and honestly, his self-control shouldn't have been fairing much better than hers in the grand scheme of things, considering they'd both ingested whatever contents of dinner.
Only if it was him...
But no, he told himself; if he let her get the better of him... she'd regret it in the morning.
He sighed right then, and oh, how heavy it was, resigned to drape an arm lamely around her middle, but... that was the extent of it. She just seemed so very wanting, but it couldn't be her real desire.
"... Well, be that as it may..." What was he supposed to tell her? That he loved her too? Tch, she still wasn't even letting him use the word (when she happened to be sober). "That... t-that doesn't change your lack of clarity on the matter. You're not thinking straight right now and it would be a shame if... something regrettable were to happen..."
Because seriously, he had the patience of a saint but even that wouldn't last forever. In fact, it was about at its limit already.

... .................. .......
"Shae." Kanda said again, obviously getting less and less pleased with Shae's state of being. However, it seemed she was getting less and less coherent, so he could only do what was within reasonability in this instance. Which involved sighing and massaging his temples, before he offered the girl a hand.
"Then we'll take a walk, let you clear your head." he said, attempting to calm himself without trying to force her into anything. The way he saw it was he'd be better to enable her to do her own thing to ..earn trust?? instead of forcing her into bed again.
Though it was just.. ...
Frustrating.
Really, really, really frustrating. Especially when he was sure that she was just being unreasonable for some god unknown reason.
Though he wasn't the only one suffering! Nope! Aster sighed when Yossarian even turned down that appeal, peeling her arms out from under his shirt to fold them on his chest underneath her.. though the whole time she was just giving him this look. What?
What? WHAT WAS THAT LOOK? STOP IT, YOU!
Though promptly after that she -
OH GOD, LYNCHING, LYYNNCCHHIINNGGG! (And by 'Oh god, Lynching', she'd literally grabbed onto his face with her hands and was just kiss-crazy!) Dammit woman! Was she trying to stock up on smoochage in case he left her without them for another week? God, she was so strange on the drugging.
But at least she wasn't trying to get into his pants!

She actually cringed at her name that time, the faint trembling in her too-thin body intensifying just the tiniest bit, but... no, on the verge of losing it, she'd been released in favor of him scrubbing his temples, and then... offered a hand. Not forced. Offered. With a much more softly suggested alternative.
It actually succeeded in deflating the raw panic-- or at the very least, it threw her enough to pause and think, staring down at it awkwardly, hesitantly.
"O... kay..." Success in the end, though. Even if it was the kind of success that seemed almost too fragile to last, and on the verge of crying anyway. It was obviously reluctant, but, she did take that hand, still not really knowing the significance of it, or why she was giving up on the desperate urge to wall herself off in the bathroom (still locked, almost inexplicably) for... walking.
But walking where?... Outside, maybe. She could run outside like she'd tried to once before...
There was only one problem: the fact that she still seemed on the verge of passing out and, beyond the mad delusions, wasn't actually any better for the wear. Just that scare had practically ripped the breath right out of her.
... Which was ironic, because Aster had managed to get more or less the same effect with Yossarian, practically sucking the breath (and life) right out of him with those passionate kisses before he could even get a word in questioning that strange hungry look.
It was pretty sad, the way hormones and passion could so easily overtake one's logical mind given the right circumstances. In the end, he wasn't any different-- and with self control and reasoning more or less spent, resistance became a lot more futile.
He kissed her back. Not as desperately, perhaps, but whatever reservation lingered was just an irrelevant nuisance, running a hand through her hand, so very aware of her body in all its fever-warm curvature draped so nonchalantly over his own.
Words were pretty moot at that point, huh.
(At least there was no one else in the room to give him grief for the guilty pleasure. Small silver linings, huh?)
... Ah, well. It probably could've been worse.

Kanda sighed when Shae, with some hesitance, took his hand, but he squeezed it lightly before he started to happily lead the way down the hall. Where were they going? Probably outside, though he was making sure he was holding onto Shae.
Somehow, he imagined if or when he opened the front door, she'd try to make some sort of run for it.
"So you're sure you don't want to go back to bed? I'll close the window so the room will warm up again."
TOAST ROOM WOULD BE TOASTY.
If Asteria and Yossarian hadn't heated it up already.
Fortunately, she did eventually back off of him, purring and settling contently against his chest for snuggling, attempting to pull the blanket up over them so she could just enjoy her happy-spot. Certainly there was still clothing on in the happy-spot, but she could live with only kisses and some good ol' snuggliness.
Purrpurrpurrrpurrpurrpurrpurrr~
Good thing nobody else was in the room to listen to the purring and the smooching and the 'dooomeeeeee' that had just passed by. (Aster was going to be -very- grateful for that in the morning).

He was smart for keeping his grip firm on her, really, because Shae probably would have taken off on him the moment they got outside... if she'd possessed the strength for it, anyway. Hell, she didn't even completely understand why she felt a desperate need to get away, because surely, the outside world was just as cold as she remembered it, and surely, she wouldn't last long out there on her own.
But even that still sounded better than--
"N-no!" Just the suggestion of bed stirred a whole new surge of panic, actually stopping for a moment mid-step before stumbling along again, shaking her head, feebly. "I don't... p-please, not there... I don't.... want to go back again..."
So... what, they'd just walk until they couldn't anymore? That probably wouldn't be long, considering how weak her voice was already, just from pleading alone. Hell, she probably wouldn't make it fifteen paces beyond the door before she dropped.
And if Aster could settle for 'only' kisses and snuggling, well... Yossarian could deal with that. Thank God he'd had at least a bare minimum of self-control through the would-be ordeal, even if he wasn't exactly prudish... but eh, when the fires settled and she curled up to purr placidly at his side, he sighed and just held an arm around her, nothing more.
Cuddling under a blanket? Yeah, life wasn't quite as bad as he'd first thought it'd be. Hell, if he even remembered having any grudges with her-- ... well, he didn't, for now.
Best of all, the worst she'd possibly be able to regret come morning would be a lot of touchy-feely nonsense and some... intimate kisses, nothing more-- or rather, nothing with any real disaster potential.
... Takeshi, of course, would probably remain forever unaware of the raging hormones in the other room lest certain wicked souls clued him in later, though that would probably be Jade's call alone, since... well, Hanna wasn't in bed, and probably not concerned with eavesdropping, wherever she was.

What on earth was her problem with the idea of bed??? It was starting to really baffle Kanda the more she went 'NooOoo!' about it. She went from being able to do little more than sleep, and now she wanted to do anything but sleep! What the hell was going on here???
It was starting to get more than frustrating to the tabby mercenary, yet somehow he got the feeling that if he tried to thwack Shae to tell her to wake up, it wouldn't work out in the way he was wanting it to... so he figured the best route for him to take was to try and walk with her until she got tired enough for him to just carry her back to bed.
He'd just keep that to himself, however.
Kanda was at least smart enough to keep his and Shae's walk initially to the inside of the hostel... at least until he'd run out of room to not be doubling-over with the same space as they'd already covered probably twice before...
So it was with VERY great hesitance he'd cracked open the front door and stepped outside into the-
OGODCOLDAIR, AIIE! Actually, it wasn't as cold to Yuu Kanda as it could have been to someone else. Since he'd been blessed with a coat of fur. So that left him to sigh and just keep walking.. though he had to keep his extra-firm grip on Shae's hand so she could be wrangled back in if he needed to.
... .....
Wow. He was going to have to 'wrangle' Shae. That was a slightly bothersome thought.

Well really, it was less wrangling and more herding in the physical sense, what with Shae being so pathetically frail as she was. Like a stray lamb, or a hopelessly lost dog, she'd seemed to resign herself to just straggling along with him, tugged by that hand she couldn't even tear out of if she wanted to.
Thankfully though for Kanda, his grievance would only last as long as her strength did-- which wound up being a whole, hardly impressive five minutes or so, in the end.
From the start, she'd probably been tired enough to drop anyway, but she'd frantically and stubbornly mustered whatever was left in her regardless, and it wasn't until they'd gotten outside, when the trickle of panicked adrenaline finally burnt out in a rush of cold air, that she stopped, teeered uncertainly and... practically passed out standing right then and there at his side, too exhausted to even hold herself up anymore.
It was a short lived bout of woe, if not a troubling one-- but on the bright side, at least the brevity of the jaunt outdoors had meant no grand encounter with some eight foot tall monster lizard, right?
And that meant the whole group could finally sleep off their dreadful medicinal hangovers (of a sort), as Yossarian relaxed into a genuinely peaceful (somehow...) repose, and Takeshi, still very naked for whatever reason, snored on.
And much later, once the rest of the kids had all eventually limped back to their places, even Hanna reappeared from wherever she'd been hiding (there were only so many possibilities there) to go crawl off into her own bed, without so much as a word.
Aaaaall would be well in the morning, surely!
