"Relax Claudio, i've been training with these weapons for as long as i can remember" Lino said with a laugh. "The trick is to keep your hand open and pull your wrist away as the blade is ejected" Lino explained, then demonstrated. He turned and waved Claudio after him as he walked from the room.

As the pair moved through the town he absent mindedly polished the ancient bracer that rested on his left arm. Glancing at it brought back painful memories, causing Lino to question if he was ready to wield the weapon. He curled his ring finger inward, making it seem as if it was gone. 'just like you old man' Lino thought sadly. Reaching the horses Lino steeled himself, not the carefree man he'd been minutes ago, but a determined one ready for any challenge. The weight of the burden that the bracer held was something Lino understood that he'd bear alone. "Come Claudio, there's a boat leaving for Roma in a couple hours, if we're lucky we can catch it. Otherwise we're swimming" Lino said as he offered Claudio his hand to help the man onto the horse.

Lino kicked the horse forward as soon as he felt Claudio behind him. He said nothing, the only words escaping him were the occasional 'Ya!' to keep the horse moving quickly. Roma was a long way off.
