I've been wondering about that one cuz I did try partners in crime, I mean, in time and it wasn't so great. As soon as I got to a huge star, the game always froze on me. Also, the battle items were to complicated for me to use. Maybe if I had better reflexes or timing it wouldn't have been so bad...

I also have to Put Contra 4 on the spotlight. that game is RIDICULOUS in terms of difficulty (Order of Ecclesia was hard but this took that difficulty and buffed it x4) and specially since its so fast-paced and bullets sneak up on you (too much dead space between DS screens) I don't have a DSi so yeeah I get killed rather easily sometimes.

Last week I took a chance on a little, relatively unglamorous RPG for the DS called Nostalgia... and so far, I have to say I'm really liking it.
Sure, the dialogue is kinda stiff, and world travel (including the random battles) via airship can be almost deceptively tough some of the time... but for me, it's really taking the edge off of my long-term deprivation of a solid, turn-based RPG that invokes either the Wild Arms series or two of my favorite SNES games (Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma). ^^

I get what you're talking about cuz I tried C4 and couldn't even make it past the second boss on my own without cheat codes. I also tried it with cheat codes but where's the fun in that? Sorry Elliot and Lost Realms, I never even heard of those 2 games till now. I did search youtube for stuff on illusion of Gaia and I found out it was released by Enix. The graps seem cool and the intro is quite fantastic! Is this the game you're talking about by chance? Illusion of Gaia

Which is why I'm still shaking my head (even after all these years) at Enix's blunder of not releasing it in North America. I may have a ROM of it (one of the very few I have, along with SD3... but that's another story), but that doesn't mean I wouldn't jump at the chance to have it for a proper console. In fact, I really do hope that at some point in the future, Squenix gets permission from the members of Quintet (the central design team) and then releases a collection of their three games: Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. I'd be surprised if they ever actually do that, though.... -_-;

Yup, hypno, that's Illusion of Gaia's intro.
I can't seem to find a rom for SD3... I tried one once to see what it was like, but then it got corrupted, and the one on the site I got it from got corrupted.
Yeah... I don't know why they didn't release it in the U.S.
Hmm... what other games...

Great! At least I got that one right, he-he.
I don't know if we'll ever see those games released in our continent but I think it would be cool to see them in Wiiware or DSi-ware sometime soon. At least before the world supposedly ends in 2012, he-he. sweatdrop

Well, hopefully with the Wii's Virtual Console we'll see some oldies that never managed to get here in the first place. Wouldn't it be great to see Illusion of Gaia in the VC for 800 Wii points? I'm pretty sure I would buy it! 3nodding

Yeah... I don't know why they didn't release it in the U.S. I think maybe the reason why Terranigma (despite having an English release in Australia and some other PAL-format countries) didn't have a U.S. release might be because Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia weren't exactly blowout hits in America, and Enix didn't want to take the financial risk. Either that or it was the occasional references to alcohol in the game, which might've gotten Nintendo of America all up in a censorship hissy fit (which seemed to be the case rather often back in the days of the SNES). Same things might've happened with SD3, possibly... or it could've been due to Square of America's insistence that the game they created on their own as a sequel to Secret of Mana (which was a flying pile of poo they called "Secret of Evermore") was better than SD3. Right..... rolleyes And unfortunately, Lost_Realms, I got my rom of SD3 from a friend about seven years ago or so, and I've no idea where she got it from. For all I know, whatever site she got it from has been long dead. Sorry I couldn't help. ^^;

Gee, that's too bad Elliot but you do have a great point with Nintendo and their censorship thing back in the day, well...
