INDENT F Faen clenched his fist tightly as he rode along the canyon edge overlooking Masyaf. Faen drifted back to the thoughts of his late teacher Adham.

It just wasn't right! Why did Adham have to die. These are stange thoughts for an Assassin, as it is their job to kill constantly. Faen started to boil with that uncontrollable hatred that uncustomed his thoughts of late. "I have to do something about this, send a message to the world" Stated Faen out-loud to himself. For isn't that the main goal of an Assassin? Not to kill, but to kill for a purpose. To send rippling messages throughout the world about the thoughts and ideas of others. And death, works perfectly.

Faen had made up his mind, if The Master would not allow him to send his message. Then Faen did not need him, for what is permission in the mind of an Assassin? Probably much more than what it was in Faen's mind, but Faen never careed for rules or obediance.

"It is decided. I, Faen, an Assassin, will send my ideals to these evil doers, the Templars. Tomorrow, I will leave this place and I will not return unless I have finished my goal,
TO KILL THOSE WHO HAVE KILLED."

INDENT F aen turned his horse around and headed back into the village. As Faen entered the gates of Masyaf, he dismounted his large brown horse, Ameera. He lead his horse through the crowed streets of Masyaf, courteously stepping out of the way from those that weren't so keen to pass the large horse.

Faen continued up the large hill towards the large Assassin's sanctuary. Faen paused outside the small portal to picket his horse outside. Faen entered the small portal, weaving in-between the out-goers. When Faen entered the small area where various people stood, chatting, sparing, and other activities. Faen turning to the left towards the small areas where the Assassin's could keep their belongings and items. He ignored the stares of other students. Faen was somewhat infamous to his peers. He entered the small building, the quarters were small and cramped, but it hardly mattered. Most of the occupants were out on missions and only had a small amount of personal items neatly kept.

Faen walked to the end where his small bed and chest stood. He opened the light chest and surveyed the objects inside. It contained many random objects that he had collected over the years on one side, the other held tools and weapons that he normally would not use unless the mission absolutely required. A feather, drenched in dried blood sat on the top of all. Faen took it out and his mind drifted off to his first kill.

“Don’t you understand, child? You aren’t so different from me! I know who could have been: You could have been a Templar, just like me…” came the words of the brutal templar holding Faen off the ground. Faen stabbed the man in the throat for the thousandth time.

Faen lay the feather down beside the chest. Faen pulled out his belted throwing knives and belted the leather staps in place. He took out his sword, not often used, and sheathed it on his waist. Faen sighed, even though he knew this must be done, and has going to go through with it gladly, he still wondered. "Will life ever be the same?" he mused out loud, "Is God punishing me?" Faen shook his head throwing such thoughts away from his mind. Faen finished taking different items out and donning them, preparing himself, physically and mentally for what was to come.

INDENT F aen placed the blood-stained feather into the almost bare chest, and closed it. Faen looked up and found that he was staring eye to eye with himself in the small mirrior shard he placed on the wall behind his bed. Faen stared at himself for some unknown time.

Faen sighed, and turned to leave the small cramped room, possibly never to return again.

INDENT T he light was bright outside. Faen lifted his arm to block his eyes till his eyes could adjust. Faen stood watching the recruits fight in the small arena, the instuctor yelled the instructions to the two children fighting in the arena.

When will it be when they taste real battle? Making every move with survival in mind. The death and screaming around you, blood, blades mixed. No comprehension for anything else, just the next move. And the kill. Taking a life is no easy task by any means.

They may not survive long. Was this right? Of course not, but it was risk that all here were willing to take to make the world better was their goal. However, were they achiveing what they intend to do? Or were the Assassin's making the same sins that they intended to stop?

Faen glanced down at his hands, almost feeling the blood of the hundreds of men he had killed running down them.

No, of course they were right in their accomplishments.

Faen slowly exited the small port to the outside world once again. He felt that familiar sense of leaving something behind that could not exit that place. He on untied Ameera and lead her down to Masyaf's gates.

Kalil emerged from his home, closing the door, bolting it, and locking the bolt in place. The days had passed slowly, while he had been working to secure his passage out of the fortress, where he would be traveling to Jerusalem. With a quick shake of his belt, making sure everything was secure and in place, he moved toward the giant gates, the few peasants around him simply moving around him as if he was part of the crowd. Except for one rude man, who, with a soft bash of the shoulder, bolted through the crowd. Looking to his belt, the assassin grumbled, "Damned thief..." His shortbow had been taken out of its sheath. Lowering his shoulder, he pushed through two people, breaking into a full sprint, trying to run in a straight, steady line toward the thief, the man bobbing between others. Half-way to him, the man scaled the side of a building, thinking to alude the assassin. A chuckle came over the assassin as he slowed only a second to pick his path.

With a quick shake, he ran toward a nearby wagon, leaping up onto the rim of it. From there, he threw himself even higher, grabbing the ledge of the building. As the thief ran along it, the assassin suddenly jerked his right hand up, grabbing the foot of the thief and pulling him off, a short cry filling the air, going quiet as he entered the hay. Dropping down, the assassin looked around at the stunned eyes, only shaking his head. The thief's hand was exposed from the massive pile, his groan soft from within. Grabbing it, Kalil pulled him out, the bow falling from the man's other arm. Taking it, he nodded to the man,
"Sorry, but you left me no choice..." Placing the shortbow into its respectful sheath, he made his way, to the gates, taking a horse as he made his journey to Jerusalem, where he would have to begin assignments to better the cause of the Assassins.

Faris sighed as his horse made it's way into the gates of masayaf. He didn't know what he was doing back here without being summoned by Al-mualim. Truthfully without a summon he had no reason as he could accept missions from the leaders in different cities. Did he hope to find closure by reconciling with his family? Truthfully he had no idea.

Vail walked in. she looked around noticing all the training and relaxing assassin's running about. she decided to lean against the banister with her hood up enjoying the slight break.

The small figure didn't have to push his way through any of the crowds; his height parted them for him. Walking through the men haggling for prices with the few merchants out at this time of day and the women carrying things on their heads was simple enough when one was taken for a child if others didn't look twice.

Of course, this was no child, but a Novice Assassin entering Masyaf and mounting the way toward the castle proper. Lex hadn't had a mission in days. They were given to more experienced and irksomely taller, older men. Is anyone even here to talk to? he thought savagely as he stepped into the training area. He sighted the woman leaning against the banister. Well, there's somebody.

"Salaam." This had become the boy's automatic greeting to anyone he met. After all, this one snatch of the local lanugage had saved him from a Hidden Blade to the throat...well, to the face, really, seeing as he'd only come up to the man's chest. Noticing the woman go off somewhere, the Novice shrugged to himself and decided to trail her. After all, there was nothing else to do. It wasn't like anyone else was here anyway.
