Maldren shook his head, eying his fingers. They seemed scratched and splintered on the tips where he...somehow...jammed them into the tree. What else though was that...he could see the cuts closing, and some splinters popping out of place... Shaking his head, he wrapped his fingers in a rag hanging from where the hole in his shirt was...from the mysterious hole in his chest that disappeared... Pushing the thoughts from his mind his ripped the cloth. "So um...where are the tents?"

Deianda raised an eyebrow expertly. She obviously didn't believe the man's denial, but it would have to do for now. Sighing, she gestured a few yards away, where several shapes were taking place. "Right there. We'll be next to Father's tent," she added casually.

Lord Sovern smiled as he approached the boy and his daughter. "The tents have all been set up, and you shall be sleeping in my tents tonight, for lack of the ability to give you your own tonight." As he said this, he eyed his daughter, before looking back to Maldren, "I'm looking forward to hearing some of your stories."
Maldren smiled at the offer, giving his thanks. "But sir, I uh, well, don't have much to tell you besides stories of my village."
"All the better, the best thing a lord can know is what is troubling those who aren't of nobility."

Deianda grinned - tents meant multiple ones and that didn't mean Maldren was safe from her yet, despite her father's teasing about it. She had no romantic intentions towards the young man, it was more the fact that he was so fun to embarrass. "I'd like to hear stories of your home as well," she agreed. "It would do well to learn more of people on the other side, won't it, Father?" she asked with a grin.

The Lord had to hide the fact he was about to shake his head. "If only for a little while my daughter. I don't plan on dying anytime soon, so I doubt that you have to worry about such things yet."
Maldren looked between the two, having a feeling that even though he was the topic of the conversation, the had pretty much forgotten about him... "Well, I'm going to uh...need a spare change of clothes..." He motioned to the holes in his clothes.
Looking back to Maldren, he nodded. "Of course, I'll be happy to buy you some clothes when we get to ton tomorrow if anyone is still manning their stalls of course." Eying his daughter from the corner of his sight, he added, "But you can wait till the morning to change."

Deianda managed the innocent face her father knew so well, after making a different one about his remark of dying. He knew very well she meant the other side of the continent, not anywhere else, and she found his dry sense of humor disturbing at times.
"I understand, no stripping off his clothes and night and hiding them in a tree," she said with a penitent sigh. "Or anything else that involves removal of clothing," she added, seeing her father about to say that himself, giving him a wide smile.
