Well, they were back to awkwardly formal. She sighed, then grabbed duffel and keys. With a motion for him to follow, she strode down the hall to the lobby, tossed the keys at the desk clerk, and continued out the doors. Her car was in the lot, but it was easier to just walk there. Flicking a glance back at Jakob, she told him, "You'll be talking to the slave I buy. Your choice. I'll just watch." Somewhere, she knew this was cruel, but she really didn't give a damn.
