The Stranger's eyes began glowing a brilliant white. A vague angry edge emerged in his voice, the first hint of emotion he's shown in her presence. "You gather people up to fill the body count of your gladiator games." It was not a question.

The Stranger's gaze died down some in brilliance, but was no less severe in his tone. "Your job or not, you might very well face the same judgment that awaits X."

The Stranger's voice returned to its normal level tone, and his eyes returned to normal as well. "You can refuse. But what you do is your own choice. I cannot stop you, or X, or anyone else. I can only warn you."

The Stranger looked straight at her. "Your judgment might very well make death in the games a very great mercy indeed." With that, he faded out of focus, and out of sight. As a final word, the Phantom Stranger's voice echoed throughout her realm. "It is your choice alone." After it echoed for a moment, it, too, died away.

After a few more very long moments of thinking about what the Stranger had said, Sholeh released a few more of her prisioners. Green Lantern, Torrent, and a few others. She stopped at her quota amount. Didn't want to get herself on...

Then there was a voice. A few voices actually. In her head. It didn't even take two words for her to recognise who they were.

Trying very hard not to seem nervous or paniced, because they'd know, Sholeh let out an uneasy sigh and smiled. "Yes? she asked.

"You all need something?

What?

Yeah, I let some go. So?

I have the number of warriors I'm supposed to have. You all can make due with a short game this time around.

Well, sorry, but I need a break every once in a while too.

Yeah, this is one of X's planets...

Actually I think there's a chance that this planet might pull through. And we agreed to only go after planets that were doomed.

What? Why?

No, no I...

Ergh. You'll have your warriors, don't worry.

No, I don't remember what the declaration was for the next Chooser who..."

Sholeh suddenly had a very sick feeling in her stomach.

"I'm not quitting or anything!" she said defensively. "I just thought I'd give the humans a bit of a chance. That's a- What?

No, no it has nothing to do with...I mean...how did you know that.."

Panicing, Sholeh glanced around her realm at the other warriors. All their talking and threats were starting to worry her. She couldn't tell wether they were just bored and trying to mess with her...or if they were serious. Whatever the case, she couldn't listen to them anymore. She had to go someplace where they couldn't contact her. And there was only one good place that she knew of.

The Balancer soon appeared in the large hall of Chooser's realm. This was the closest and safest place he could get to Earth without being on Earth. He took a quick look around the cells, then moved down the hall so that he could get a clear view of the 'sky'. Enough that he could see Earth. Once at a good spot, he stared at the small blue planet, and soon grimmaced. He still had no way of getting his shield back. Not at this time anyway. And with how Thorne was acting, he probably wouldn't be able to get it before the Spectre killed him. No, he'd have to wait until Thorne ran again, then jump to his new location and try to get it back as quickly as he could.
He took a small glance down at a ring on his hand, which was glowing dimly. He grimmaced a bit more and looked back to Earth. No...that wouldn't work now either. Spectre would be there too fast, and he'd be killed again.
....nothing he could do at the moment but wait.
