Sighing she looked at him. "Yeah...." She said lightly. "But i want it...I want everything you two have." She looked down once more. "Dad..." She started before looking up at him, not looking as confident and playful as she normally did. She looked a bit frightened, a bit sad. "Is it possible? I know i have a chance of finding someone...I mean I know we arn't the only crossbreed family out there...and i know there are those, like that herd, that see us crossbreeds as normal, and like us. But even if i found someone...would it just stop there?" Just stop there. A happy but incomplete relationship. A family that wasn't a family. "Though i don't want it right now...Having to much fun looking after you and mom right now...but one day...I want a family like you two have...Will i ever be able to have that?"

The palely-coloured stallion looked down at the ground under his hooves and nibbled on his lower lip. “I’m not sure to be honest,” he said with a shake of his head, “some crosses can, others cannot. I don’t know if there’s any way of telling without, well, trying to be honest.” He hated it when he didn’t have the answers his children wanted; it made him feel as though in some small way he had failed... But perhaps...
The stallion raised his head again and looked back at Diara. “If anyone would know,” he said, “it would be a herd that has many members with mixed blood. So far as I know, that means the Hellenes and nobody else.” Now he had a real reason beyond simple curiosity to want to visit the warriors of the north east. If they could give any of his children who cared to know a yes or no answer it would no doubt he a weight off their minds, even if the answer was no. “Even if you can’t,” Morthan added with a faint smile, “you can always take in foals who don’t have parents of their own like Eira and I did with Naveen.” And Gods knew he loved the little green lad, still so foal-like, just as much as any of his children. Perhaps he would still have longed to have children of his own blood had he been unable to, though, it was hard to say without being in such a situation himself.

She nodded. The Hellenes. They could give her a possible anwser. She smiled lightly. "Thanks Dad." Of course he wouldn't be sure. He had no way of knowing. But...a chance she would. He had said some could. That bit of hope. SHe would not pay much attention to it, but she would hold it in her heart, next to the hope of a mate. Let them sit, and let her hope. Until it was proven that it was impossible. "Really. Mabye i can hope." And if she couldn't...even if she found no mate...the orphaned foals of the world would find haven with her. She had learned alot from her parents. And the kindess and spirit of giving was a big one. A really big lesson they had taught her. "But even if i can't, i'll take your example." she smiled. "And i'll take care of any little foals that you and mom don't snag up as well." She laughed, her mood improving.

Morthan grinned at his daughter and gave a nod of his head. “An excellent idea, my dear, and I’m sure we can come to some kind of fair arrangement; take it in turns perhaps?” She would be a good mother one day, the pale stallion considered as he looked at his daughter. She had a good head on her, she was kind and giving and seemed to have enough love to give for six average people. “You’ll do well,” the Reya said after a moment, feeling the need to express his thoughts, his pride, “whatever you do, wherever you go in life, you’ll do well.”

She smiled. "I sure hope so. Wouldn't want to disappoint you guys, right?" Definatly didn't want to disappoint her parents. Everything she was was modeled after them. Their joys and sorrows. Their happiness and their sadness. Their hopes and fears. All of them she had slowly absorbed and made her what she was today. And her biggest fear was to disappoint her parents. She could fail at everything she ever hoped for, lose her dreams. But if her parents were proud of her, she'd be happy. Of course...that made no sense. She shook her head.

The pale-eyed stallion smiled again and gave his daughter and affectionate nudge. “No fear on that score,” he said with a nod, “I think you will find us almost impossible to disappoint actually.” Certainly he couldn’t ever being disappointed with Diara to date, or any of his children come to that. “So long as you try,” Morthan went on with another nod, “I’ll always be proud of you.” It was always nice when a child succeeded of course, but success wasn’t necessary from his point of view; Gods knew he himself would be judged poorly in several aspects of his life if actual success was what mattered.

The mare smiled. "Thats good to know" she laughed lightly. "Well...We better pick up the pace. I'm sure mom is ready to bite our heads off for taking so long." She smiled. "She really worries to much about you...then again, mabye thats wise, since you are a senior citizen." She grinned, laughing again.

Morthan snorted in reply and tossed his head, grinning back. “Just you set the pace, girl, and we’ll see who’s senior; I could run all day if I needed to.” Still grinning, the pale Reya waited for his daughter to take off, glad not for the first time that he had at least one relatively cheerful daughter to his name. Whatever it took to give her, and indeed her siblings, what they wanted both in the way of answers and more material things, he would do. It was good to ahve family.
