Standing up from her sitting position on the bench, Quinn gave a small, almost inaudible sigh. I think I'll go wander around a bit more.. I'd rather not unpack just yet she thought to herself, turning to the left. Left was usually Quinn's choice of direction, especially since she had no idea where she was exactly. Walking at a slow enough pace so that she could still sense her surroundings -- moving too fast blurred things, like wearing glasses with the wrong prescription -- she passed quite a few people. Their stares that they didn't even bother to hide wore thin on her nerves. Nonetheless, she merely clenched her gloved fists and continued on.

Soon stopping moments later, (after passing what must of been the gym, as she had heard sounds of running feet and the slam of basket balls as they hit the floor) she tilted her head to the side. That sound.. this must be the archery field Her instincts were right. The all-too-familiar twang of bowstrings sang in the air-- at least several people must have been out practicing. I'm a bit tired.. I'll just rest here for a few and listen to them practice. So thinking, she backed up a little until she felt the rough graininess of a brick wall, the eastern wall of the gym. Sliding down, she sat on the dewey grass and pulled her knees up halfway to her chest, resting her arms on them. She could easily tell how many actually hit the target by the thud heard just moments after the twang of the bowstring being released. Not many of the people there made the target, causing a small smile of contempt to form on her lips.

Robin walked directly towards the archery field. She saw a girl - was it a girl? - that seemed to be sleeping on the grass. 'Does she realize the grass is wet?' Wondering to herself, Robin continued her way to the archery field. There already were people practicing, most of them missing the bull's eye. She always had loved the sound of the bowstring being let go and the arrows hit the target board hard. Thud and twang. Robin closed her eyes for a second to breathe in the fresh smell of the dew on the grass and listen to the sounds she loved.

When she felt she was ready for some practice, she picked an arrow from the brown quiver and got ready to shoot. She pulled the bowstring, closing one eye and aimed at the red color. Robin was no longer be able to hear the thuds and twangs, but only the breeze of air tickling her ears. Keeping a steady gaze on the bull's eye, she slowly and steadily let go of the feather of the arrow. She stayed still, watching the arrow fly towards the target and hit exactly in the middle. Robin smiled. 'This kind of stuff...is maybe a bit too easy for me now...' She walked up towards the target and took the arrow out of the wooden board. It did take some force to do it, but it wasn't too hard. 'Seems like I still need some more practice with the speed... Thinking so, she walked back to her place and aimed for another.

Fox noticed the sudden tense air and she sighed gently."Anna, do not concentrate on any specific thought. You are an observer...let them go. Let everything flow through you without actively taking part in it. Thoughts, emotions, fantasies...Let them through as if you where a pot with no bottom."

Her hands lay perfect on her knees, still. It was eerie how still Fox could be, the only thing separating her from a corpse the soft rise and fall of her chest. "You're meditating. No one can reach you there, but yourself..."

Brett, finally having his room back to himself soon became bored. He had left all of his fun things at home. And his roommate left him to go play 'shoot the stupid arrow into the stupid target.' It was probably better that she left anyways. If he had heard her call him 'Bread' again he might have snapped and decided to make her an unwilling subject in an experiment.

Nonetheless, Brett was bored now. He was by himself, and that usually led him to just lying down or leaning against something thinking about what a rotten person he was. And that's what happened this time too. Brett thought back to this morning about the cute girl he saw in the garden, playing the violin, and even outside the office. He had seen her too much already. And at this rate, he would probably end up seeing her for the majority of his year. And for some reason, she always made him double think himself. What was this girl had on him, is what he wanted to know.

But what ended up happening was Brett exiting his room and going to the dorm of that girl. As he was at the door, he contemplated just how he would say sorry. But his hands worked quicker than his mind and he ended up knocking on the door to the dorm.

Kolter stopped walking to look at her.

"No. Any girl- any person- that could sit and listen to me worry about my sister without flat out telling me I'm a freak- even if you think so silently- can't be too bad. Besides, I'm really not worried about having a girl roommate. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want a guy for a roommate, heh, but no. . .I'm okay."Kolter said with a shrug, his tone suggesting that he was talking about the weather or something that could be seen quite easily. He found himself mimicking her, though, and laying down on the bed to look up at the portion of ceiling above his bed. Once again his hands went behind his head, but his eyes stayed open.

Silver chuckled as Kolter stopped and spoke "Well, it's not so strange that you worry. She's your sister, right? So then it's only a natural thing that you worry." she said as she kept her gaze on the cieling. "And no, I don't mind having a guy as a roomie. If nothing else, at least it's gonna be interesting I guess." she said and scratched the side of her head.

She soon found herself lost in her memories, rmemberng a time when she had almost gotten a sibling, though the child died before it even had seen daylight. She remembered how sad her mother had been and how strangely disappointed her father had looked as he tried to comfort her mother, as if it was her mother who had failed. Silver had been little as well so the memory was roughly images that jumped back and forth, like watching an old movie.

"Hey Kolter.." she said silently after a while. "How old is your sister?" She asked out of pure curiosity, which she had plenty of and this question had just now popped up in her mind. "You don't have to answer that one if you don't feel like it." she added quickly, seeing how she couldbe a little nosy with her questions sometimes. Not that she thought asking about his sister's age would be that nosy but just to be safe.

No one can reach me but myself.. Fox's soft, lyrical voice calmed her mind, causing the unpleasant memories to slip away, until she couldn't have recalled them even if she wanted to. Which she didn't, of course.

With her eyes still closed, she felt every emotion she had felt (and pushed away) that day slip through her, filling her for just a moment before disintegrating into nothingness. Slowly feeling better and more at peace with each passing second, she began to relax more and more, although she could keep about as still as an epileptic fish. It wasn't big movement though, just tiny shifting. One could say she was actually meditating, until a sound just outside the dorm door woke her from the light trance.

"I'll get it." she said softly to Fox, not wanting to disturb her overmuch. Standing up and making her way over to the door, she twisted the knob and pulled, the giant rectangle of wood swinging slowly, but at least it didn't squeek. However, all that left her mind as soon as she saw who stood just beyond the threshold. Oh. It's just him.. what did he come for, besides playing more nasty tricks? She didn't voice her thoughts, however. Anna was nicer than that. So she merely said "Oh, um.. Hi.", her head tilted ever-so-slightly to the side in a mix of confusion and curiosity.

Brett was at a loss for words when the girl opened the door. He still hadn't thought about what he was going to say. When she opened the door and he saw her, any thoughts he had thought of were gone. Brett looked down and scratched his head, and then looked off to the side, still scratching his head. "Err...I...uhh...wanted to say...sorry...." said Brett getting progressively quieter as he talked. Geez, he felt like such an idiot saying that. He had never said that to anyone and meant it. At least not for the paltry parlour tricks he played like the rat carcass and zombie.

He didn't even know why he felt sorry about doing this to that girl. He's done meaner things to nicer people. Brett certainly didn't feel bad about those. What was it about this girl that made him say sorry? Whatever it was, Brett wasn't sure he liked it. He figured he would have two choices. The first being to hang around her and see just what it is that made him like that, and the other being avoiding her altogether and continuing his mean streak.

I Will Never Love You
The Cost Of Love's To Dear
But Though I'll Never Love You
I'll Stay With You One Year

] Seeing Anna preoccupied and wanting to give the two privacy without actually leaving the room, Fox allowed herself to concentrate on her breathing to loose awareness of the conscious being. Her orange eyes became half-lidded and her breathing became long and deep, the breathing of those who slept.

Again, she was eerily still. Her mind was recording the conversation between Anna and Brett, but she would go over it later, because she was not consciously aware of it. A small ring of fire clung an inch away from her body, not touching anything so it wasn't burning anything.

Here, Fox felt perfectly in tune with everything. She felt...like nothing could harm her, so calm and at peace.

Nothing, excluding one thing. Her deepest fear, her scariest dream. Fox did not fear much. She did not fear anything but one thing. It wasn't the human fear of death.

It was the fear of eternal life. Yet, being in control as she was, she was not confronted by this fear now. She merely felt the hum of the phoenix underneath her skin, the harmonizing of Trill, the people in the room. She radiated life, the energy from her Spirit spilling out around her. Powerful life.

Yet she still did not move. The fire circled around her slowly and the only thing that visibly separated her from a corpse was the color of her cheeks and the occasion rise and fall of her chest. If one could sense power they'd know she was extremely alive and seeping in powerful life.

Sorry? He's.. sorry? That one sentence probably confused Anna more than she'd ever been confused before.

Most people, having their feelings her like that, would have laughed in his face and slammed the door. But Anna wasn't exactly 'most people'. Looking up at him - Anna was short enough to have to look up at quite a few people - her eyes softened a little. He at least means it. Or is probably the greatest actor ever Why not take the chance of being played the fool? Besides, it was just a dead rat and a zombie. And the zombie had at least led to some small self-realization.

"Apology accepted." her quiet voice eventually sounded, the only sound in the silence; a faint smile forming on her lips. A smile that, while a mere ghost of her true smile, still shined like sunlight.

Brett smiled and sighed a sigh of relief. She had said she accepted and smiled. Brett could kind of feel his heart get lighter and he felt a little less mean. It gave him hope that maybe being nice would be accepted, and that he wasn't so bad at it.

"Umm..."
said Brett still nervous. "My name is Brett...and uhh...I would make it up...to you...if you want...somehow..." He wasn't really expecting this girl to let him make it up. But he would feel better and less guilty if he at least offered. He wasn't even really sure what he could do to make the situation better between them. Brett just couldn't figure out why he wanted to make things better between them.

"I don't mind."Kolter mumbled. He wasn't sleeping nor was he overly tired, he just didn't feel a need to open his eyes, sit up, or speak loudly.

"Kasey's sixteen as of last November."Kolter explained. Then, as if deciding it wasn't obvious, he opened his eyes and turned his attention to her. "Kasey's my twin sister, I'm not that much older then her really. But still, she's my parent's princess. I couldn't possibly allow for anything to happen to her. I don't think she realizes how much she means to the rest of us." It was a bit sobering to talk about his sister and his family to a complete stranger. He'd learned that you never spoke to your friends about family, because when you were mad at your family you expect agreement, but when you like them again, you remember your friend's opinion on the matter and it sticks. It strains the relationship, that sort of memories tainting the relationship. . .

"I think girls are more interesting then guys. And besides, I'm probably the least interesting. I like things simple, so there's not actually a lot of eventfulness in my life. Just. . . boring, everyday normal stuff."Objected Kolter."But girls, on the other hand, are far from simple." Kolter didn't think he had an interesting life, but when it wasn't interesting by someone else's influence, Kasey would be there doing something entertaining or would need protecting against something. . . Between fighting and his own impulses, he was hardly ever bored. IN that sense, he was interesting- what would keep him busy next?

After having to shoot a few more arrows, and hitting the bulls eye 7 times, and missing it 4 times, she felt she needed more time practicing. "What a shame...as an elf..." muttering to herself, she packed her belongings and headed back to the school's main entrance. The strange girl in a gray cloak was still sitting with her face in her arms by the wall. She didn't seem to want to be disturbed so Robin continued her way. Just before she stepped into the school, she thought it wouldn't be too bad to walk around the garden she hasn't strolled in years. Gardens were never her favorite, since the scent of the flowers were too strong that they irritated her nose at times. They were carefully taken care of. Robin couldn't find a single weed growing anywhere. There was one dandelion, but that didn't seem too bad.

Nearby, there was the lake. She had memories of coming here and reading poems she wrote and getting new ideas to write more. But that was over 2 years ago, when she was having a tough time with the only friend she had. Robin smiled bitterly as she remembered her past. Finding the spot she had always sat in her old days, a tree stump by the lake, she looked at the water ripples as some fish in it swam jumped at times. Everything felt so peaceful. 'If only the time could stop now..'

"I'm Anna." She couldn't tell why, but him at least attempting - successfully - to be nice, it just made her happy. Happier than she had been. "But.. don't worry about it." Okay, Anna was probably being way to easy-going.. but she didn't mind. "The dead rat probably would have been funny.. if it hadn't been my door you left it outside of." she added with a small chuckle. Thinking of that makes me miss my old friends.. I wonder if Drake still puts squishy objects in our teacher's chairs?

Continuing a few moments later, she said "But don't go tempting me to learn more about this power of mine, that apparently can make things explode."

Brett smiled as best as he could and offered a slight bow, speaking "Nice to meet you Anna." Returning to his upright position, he had a small smile on his face. It was as big as he could manage a smile, though others might view it as a weak smile. Nonetheless, Brett was going to try. He had to at least say he tried, or he would never be able to look at himself again. He wouldn't let Anna try to glorify his actions by saying she would have thought it was funny had it been someone else's door. It wasn't that rat that made her upset, it was his comment, and he knew that.

"I might tempt you again,"
said Brett with a smirk. "That was kind of cool, minus the whole...pain you got in..." he finished his voice a little quieter towards the end of that. He had already hurt her and he hadn't known her for more than a day or even an hour.

I present you with this Rose,
To show my affection towards You
But hopefully unlike this Rose.

User ImageA thud was heard from dorm number five, followed by another, and another before foot steps came from one side of the room and followed after the thuding noises. A hand grasped at the ball as it continued on bouncing about the room aimlessly and free like the breeze that is outside when ever there is wind. And once the ball was caught it was set down on the side table next to the one person bed, neatly cleaned up and straightened so it would look presentable.

Riese sighed lightly, his brown eyes looking about the room to make sure that everything was were it was supposed to be. The coat on the coat rack, shoes neatly on the door mat. Clothes in their respective drawers and the dirty laundry in the laundry basket to be washed later on.

Riese walked over to his shoes and knelt down, fingers moving idly down to un-tie the shoe laces and his feet moved in the right shoes and once again his fingers moved so that the laces were tied tightly and before long he was standing again and dusting off his knee's. His hands moved to the door knob and twisted, a clicking sound moving through the wood and up to his ears indicating that it was alright to open up and leave his dorm. Now where to go for the rest of the day?

This affection I show you will
Not be cut down in it's Prime
And will not be given to another.
