Harriet smiled and ordered a tea from the man-he'd never been much of a coffee drinker, and cocoa was just too sweet for him-and turned back to Riulve after the waiter left.

"You reminded me of my friend Codin for a moment there. He tends to refer to children as pups-and when you're a candymaker, you see a lot of children." the man laughed a bit. "Though, I am curious as to what made you use the term. He's Lunican, so it's in his nature. Might you be similar or...?"

It didn't immediately hit him that she wouldn't know of Lunica or anything to do with Tison. He did hope that he didn't sound rude for asking if she might be of wolfish persuasion. It seemed an awkward thing to say on the first date but he was curious and comfortable enough with her to ask without feeling he'd get slapped for such a thing.

Riulve had declined to order again after the waiter had thrown her a questioning glance. One cup of whatever she had ordered earlier was more than enough.

The woman paused at what he said. It wasn't because he had unintentionally insulted her or even that she had a secret to keep. The word was unfamiliar though she had a vague idea of what it could mean or be possibly somehow related to her and the way she spoke or acted.

After a length of time she rolled her shoulder into a shrug and admitted, "Y'got me. What are those beings exactly?" Riulve didn't ask the question in order for the subject to be changed but because she was curious.

"Lunicans? They're beings from the Tison moon realm. There are all sorts of creatures there, but Codin is...what would it be called here? Ah, a werewolf. He's a nice guy, really." the blonde said with a grin.

Ti...son?” She tilted her head from side to side and then shrugged a little, “but yes, that is how people in my world referred to me and my kind. Werewolves. Though I think we are slightly different from this world’s definition and possibly even different from the ones in your world. We are not strictly tied to the moon but each tribe or clan has a different type element that we are imbued with...

She didn’t seem shocked or alarmed that he had questioned her forthright. Just because she didn’t strut around with a large banner declaring who or what she is didn’t mean she kept it strictly a secret when asked.

Some of us do get a little moody or strange during the full moon,” she cleared her throat, “I am one of those, from what my old friends say.

Harriet grinned. "Ah, Tison is the galaxy I come from. A bit far off from here. I got sent to Gaia to be as far from work as they could get me." he laughed at this. His employees had been trying to get him out and about for a while.

"Oh? What element might you have?" he asked cheerfully.

Hatty’s order arrives during this time.

Ah ha. I am sure you miss your home and your work.” She said with a tone that seemed almost questioning but also a statement.

Riulve chuckled a bit, “Me and mine have the element of ‘Spirit’, but very few of us have the gift that I seem to have inherited late in life. I can see, touch, speak with spirits of the dead or undead. I can do other things as well concerning this element but that would seem as if I am bragging or something.”

She tilted her head, “Do you have a special skill or ability?

Harriet smiled and took a sip of his drink. "Well...I can't say I completely miss it. I didn't do very much. I run Tison's....I do believe only, Candy Factory and there's not much for me to do these days. I just didn't really have much else to do so I had to spend a lot of time at work."

"Communication with the dead sounds like a bit of a blessing and a curse, not to be offensive or anything." he commented after another thoughtful sip of his tea.

"Apart from being pretty decent at illusions, not really. At least, none that I know of." the man replied with a shrug. He was actually one of Tison's better illusionists but that wasn't something he was completely confident in. He always wondered vaguely if he was only one of the best by default, seeing as it didn't seem a popular art.

I don’t really miss my original home, either.” She shrugged and didn’t go into the subject any further than that.

It is, especially when someone living, who is filled with grief over a loss approaches me. I keep find myself having to explain that my power doesn’t quite work like that.” Riulve shrugged again and also dropped that particular subject. She didn’t like talking about work very often and she considered her little ‘ability’ related to work even if she didn’t really get paid for it.

Huh, that sounds kind of neat.” She laughed a little, “in my world we had mages and the like that could do illusion magics and other things.

Harriet shrugged a bit. "There are plenty of mages and the like in Tison but it's becoming less popular to actually practice magic as a career. Such things are getting to be considered too cheap and most people who have magic based careers need to have other jobs to support themselves." He commented.

Sounds like such people are more common in your world. Where I come from only a very few can do magic of any kind. They get tested for it when they are young by arch magi that have their own schools and the like.” Riulve shrugged a little.

She paused a moment her head tilting back a little to peer at the sky from what she could see by the edge of the table-umbrella. The sky was darkening and she had told the ‘sitter she would be back before it became too late. Riulve sat up to look at Hatty again. “Should we call it a date?” She didn’t seem particularly anxious to leave but they both did have children to get back to.

Harriet glanced up at the sky as well when she spoke. "Oh, yes, I do believe we shall have to. Today's Bella's day off from work and she took out special time to babysit Alice so I could go out today. I would like to at least give her a bit of time to herself tonight." he laughed cheerfully.

They motioned for the check and when it arrived, they paid for their respective orders - Ri wasn't the type who'd let a man handle her bill just because they were on a date, and Harriet didn't want to just hoist the whole thing off on her.

As they were standing to go, Harriet grinned over at her. He felt...confident? enough in how the date had gone to ask if they could maybe arrange another.

"I had a good time tonight. It was really nice meeting you. Maybe, if you're interested, we could see each other again sometime? Though maybe with the kids along. They might enjoy meeting some other people." he suggested blushing a bit as he did. He was thinking on their previous discussion of their kids and how they might introduce them at some point.

She had paid and stood up in order to say farewell to Harriet and perhaps shake hands with the man again. Riulve stood there awkwardly a moment or two before she stepped around the table and moved toward him. “Yes, I had a good time as well, even if all we did was talk of other worlds.” She felt incredibly awkward but happy at the same time. She had not often felt so pleasantly vulnerable before. Riulve supposed that this is what most women felt...

Abruptly she moved close to him and wrapped her arms about him in a hug and gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek. “C..Call me okay? We’ll set something up then.” She had turned and started to move away, the rare faint blush played across her cheek.
