Following a wonderful birthday and going away party today (turned 16), I will be leaving America and move overseas to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Life has been a real pain in the a** lately. This is just one matter of many that have come up... The box of chocolates became a bit moldy, basically. I don't want to take up space by going into detail about what's ripped me a new one as of late.
In any case... following an intelligence placement test online, I'm going to be attending the National Israeli Air Force Academy in August through October and I will be deployed anywhere from late October to early December. How long I will remain in service, I don't know, but it's normally a year. Military service is required in Israel for all capable men and women.
In other words, it's why they're so badass.
I just figured I would leave a little goodbye note to those who still check the guild. It really was nice meeting you all; I know we haven't spoken in a while. I have no idea if Talionis will end up getting any further... I may be able to work on it and get a chunk out of it before I'm deployed, but then again, I can't promise anything to those who've gained interest in it.
For those who happen to be that interested, I have a friend on here who goes by the name "Frazzle Snazzle"--her name is Tsiporah Nazar; I will be living with her family. Since I will most likely lose contact with society in August, feel free to contact her if you want to know about what I'm up to.
678-640-1523 is my cell phone number... I'll be around until August 11th, then I'm gone for what could be forever. I'd love to hear from any of you.
I wish I hadn't cheated death so many times. Now I actually have the potential to be killed in action. I'm frightened.
So, hopefully these words of wisdom will suffice before I get on the plane tomorrow afternoon:
You only have one life to live. Make the best of it and settle for nothing less.
Be careful how much time you spend waiting. It adds up.
Hail to the divine teacher.
It really was a pleasure knowing all of you, Laura especially for introducing me.
Thanks, all.
Love always,
Mallory.
