Mara fell down to lay on her back."I don't WANT to be the firepower though!" her voice was controlled just enough so she wasn't whining."I want know all I can, do everything possible, be part of it all!" She sighed and sat up."Not only am I not getting that, but I'm not even sure I'm a ninja anymore. I feel like I'm back in school, but with more bullies trying to throw me in the trash." Only then did she notice Midori's "position." May he find his way to the Realms of the Black God.

Westly's hands glowed blue as Aona's cuts and scrapes seemed to close themselves slowly. Given his inexperience in that field, it was more practice for him than help for her. "Mara, we're ninjas. If you get tossed in the trash, consider yourself lucky. From here on out, people will be trying to kill you at every turn, and sometimes, they'll succeed. If you want to know everything you can, that's today's lesson. Remember it, take it to heart, meet you back here on Monday for lesson two."
He paused for a moment, thinking. "You did alright for your first day, Mara," he conceded. "If you're upset about it, look at this way: from here on in, you've nowhere else to go but up."

Mara couldn't help smiling at Westly's reply."Ya, well, if you think I'm letting someone kill me, you got another thing comin'." She stood up and shouldered her bag."Sooo this training session is over I guess?" She held back an impending yawn and stretched a little."Well, I think, if we're done here, I better get home before mom hears about this and starts worrying." She watched Aona's cuts disappear in awe. Westly's words replayed in her head. No where to go but up... "Cool."
(I killed the thread didn't I...)

Kei waited for the medic nins that he had called to arrive and when they did he bid farewell to Aona's students and asked the medics to look after Aona herself. He also waited for some of the lesser known ANBU agents to arrive and informed them of the situation, they told him that they would handle things from there. "Put a security detail on Aona, this nin failed to kill her once, he might try for a second attempt." he said and they nodded in affirmation.
Kei then gathered his students after saying his farewell to Aona and then departed to his own training grounds. The events that had stolen Midori's life had firmed his resolve to train his students and prepare them for the harsh reality of shinobi life.

"Thanks Westley," Aona said quietly. She allowed the medics to attend to her when they arrived, though she insisted on doing as much for herself as she could. As the medics attended to her ankle, she turned to the ANBU that had remained after Kei left. "This will only last long enough for me to recover, regardless of Kei's connection with Nekage," she said firmly, ignoring the fact that she had little real authority even over lower ranked ANBU. She turned to her remaining student. "Westley, I'd like a detailed report of what happened today delivered to my home as soon as possible regardless of other orders, and make sure that you hand it directly to someone. If it's anyone other than me, make sure that they know not to open it."

"As you wish," said Westly. "I hope I didn't overstep myself. I wish you a swift recovery."
