So apparently I've been living under a rock because it wasn't until this weekend at Oddyssey Con 8, that I found out about it. I never read the Wheel of Time series, though I own the first book. Now I've read on Wikipedia that someone else (Brandon Sandorson) will finish the final book, A Memory of Light. Plus there's also going to be Jordancon in 2009. As fans of the series, how has Jordan inspired you? I had a boyfriend who hated him, after a long period of enjoying his works. He told me he became disappointed in the series when Jordan began resurrecting the minor villains. Have any of you been disappointed like him? Is it worth it to get into the series?

i have a frined whose been trying to get me to read them for awhile. now i feel sad that i havent . i wonder if he knows dam n....well that unfourtanate.

He wrote the Fantasy novel series Wheel of Time which will be on volume 12, or so. Huge a** long series! The books are also very long....like averaging at about 1000pages each. So you can imagine that anyone reading 12,000 pages of storyline ha to be pretty darn dedicated.

I've struggled to get through 400page books, mostly because my job and anime watching, and now gaming have eaten up a lot of my time.
My point is that it's a huge story with lots of fans devoting many, many hours to reading and rereading the novels...and now the person writing them is dead. It's not really a life commitment, I know, but this series fans are a good chunk of the Fantasy reading public, though they also enjoy other series, too.
