For me: (Plus commentary)

The American President (What can I say, I'm a politically minded child.)
Beauty and the Beast (My mom's favorite movie, though I now find I prefer Robin McKinley's retelling of the story)
Chocolat (French people, chocolate and Johnny Depp. What else do I need?)
Contact (I figured it out, finally. I get the ending now! Also Jodi Foster rocks.)
The Princess Bride (Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. - Best tagline ever, in the history of film)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Second book wasn't all that good anyways, and HP sans Chris Columbus as director is total crap. Three through five weren't anything like they should have been.)
Ever After ('Cinderella' kicks slimy lecherous guy's butt: One of the best Cinderella adaptations ever.)
It Could Happen to You (Just plain sweet movie)
National Treasure (IwannaseeBookOfSecretsIneedtoseeBookOfSecrets!)
Shrek (Funnehness.)
The Day After Tomorrow
Ella Enchanted (Beautifully done, great adaptation of a great book)
The Golden Compass (Well done movie, though after re-reading the book I find many flaws. Still, it was good. Except for one thing...discussed in next commentary.)
Eragon (I cringe to type this. It was well done, but not as the film version of Paolini's book. They cut out Solembum, which means they have a lot of work to do before they can ever make an Eldest movie. And Angela the witch got minimized, which stinks. She was the best character in the book. Not to mention the breaking of Isidar Mithrim, which is rather important, ya know? And- here's the mountain out of a molehill- WOULD IT KILL THEM TO GIVE ARYA THE RIGHT HAIR COLOR? I mean seriously. She has BLACK hair, peoples. It's not that hard to make the actress put on a wig. She also had no pointed ears. AHEM. She's an ELF. Put a pair of prosthetics on, would you please? And the changing black haired characters to blondes continues in the Golden Compass. Can we please read the books before we film-ize them? Marisa Coulter is not a BLONDE.)

Okay, before I unleash my full ranting on you all poor souls, I'm done. I probably forgot one or two films, but oh well.

Anila of Pellinor

Ella Enchanted (Beautifully done, great adaptation of a great book)

Which one? She wrote two. I own both. I prefer Beauty over Rose Daughter, but both are good.

Okay. Every movie has sucked, but the cast is AMAZING: Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Richard Griffiths, Warwick Davis, John Cleese, Alan Rickman, Jason Isaacs, Mark Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Robert Hardy, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Emma Thompson, Timothy Spall, Michael Gambon, Miranda Richardson, Helena Bonham Carter - These are all some of the BEST British actors of our time.

I do not like Drew Berrymore.

What? What about Ella Enchanted was at all like the book!? The names? That's the only thing I found that was the same.

I forgot Rent and Stardust!

I still own the Power Rangers movie. I occasionally pull it out and watch it.

How could I forget Star Wars and Indiana Jones!? Star Wars is a great way to meet guys. I watch it whenever they show it at the geek store in the mall, and I walk away having had a minimum of three guys hit on me. It makes for a wonderful day. I even had one guy leave, bring back his girlfriend, and say "See! Girls watch Star Wars, too!" It made my day.

I'm torn between wanting to love Babes in Toyland, and disliking its horrible objectification of women. It was made in the late 50s (I think), but still... and yet, it's such a good movie... I'm just not sure if I should love it or not.
