Kai started to look around the decapitated chocobo ranch and noticed books on the floor, flipping through them all and scanning their pages for knowledge on a golden chocobo. The problem was though that all the pages held were rather burnt or about chocobo breeding. He searched for about 20 minutes, just sitting, reading books.
"Oh- your still here" said the girl who stared at him through the doorway.
"Afraid so" he answered, still searching through the book. "I guess...i should apologise.. i didn't mean to shout at you like that. Im just still annoyed at them...for taking my grandfather and all his valued positions."
"Yep" Kai simply answered, still flipping through pages. "But you could of been more considerate!" she told him, sounding agrravated again. Kai ignored her, stood up and walked over to her, with his head still stuck to the book. "Hey" he started, "do you know anything about this?". He showed her a picture in the book of the golden chocobo. There wasn't much information about it in the book, and he couldn't find it anywhere else.
"Oh!" she said with delight, "Thats the golden chocobo. Its a known legend that when a human and a chocobo have both treated each other like their family, when both of them are equal and see each other as family, friends, and love each other so much, then the golden chocobo will take them off to Chocobo Paradise, where rainbows and clouds fill the sky, Chocobos run free with no fears, Hotsprings are numbered by the hundreds and a great feast is prepared for them both. Its basically like being enlightend by a god. Seeing the golden chocobo makes me so happy, but i'll never be able to see it.."
"I see" Kai confirmed and looked at the picture. "Don't worry, you didn't miss much" "Y-you've seen it!? N-no way! how did you- why would- do you even have a chocobo?"
Kai looked back up at her and gave her the book. "Thanks for the information, and im sorry about your grandad" and with that, Kai walked out back to the streets with the girl still struck with awe.

Akila was lying on the ground near the same tree Kai had slept in. She looked up at the sky as a tear fell down her cheek...
I'll always watch over you...
Mom... Akila reached towards the sky one last time to wave goodbye. Chirichi, now with all black feathers, nudged his mother gently, wondering if she was okay. She smiled to him, sitting herself up to pet his beck.
I'm alright Chi, I'm alright now...

As Kai watched the others appear, his figure seemed to take form in the shadows, leaning up against another tree.
"You all done in Chocobo paradise?" he said, slowly walking towards them.
Kyo squarked happily as he ran up to his master. Kai ruffled his forehead feathers and smiled to him gently, stroking him calmly. Kai was so relieved to see his Chocobo, so happy and glad. He just didn't like to show it.
He looked up at them. Akila's chocobo seemed to have changed colour, and Akila looked a bit different. Kai didn't really seem to care much though.
Kai had still been kind of annoyed that he was left behind. It was really uneventful down here couldn't have minded tagging along and viewing the so called 'paradise'.

Brim stood up and looked at kai, she could see he was disappointed not going to the paradise even if he tried to hide it, but she could tell kyo was happy to see his master. brim realised how lucky she was to have been allowed to accompany akila there. the paradise was only for those who truly cared a great deal for there chocobo as if they were part of there family. perhaps when kais relationship with kyo carried on they would become as close as akila and Chirichi and be able to visit there.
"Kai, i see kyos happy to see you. sorry we kinda of disappeared on you."
Brim smiled to the both of them. she then turned back to akila, the trip to the paradise had meant a lot to them and helped them discover a lot about each other. Now it was kais turn to see what the book had install for him. brim stepped over to kyo and carefully lifted the book from his saddle. brim then handed to kai.
"Here kai. Lets find out what the book can tell you now. There must be something to guide you in are journey."

Akila stood to met Kai, quickly wiping her tears away and smiling.
Sorry, Kai! I didn't mean to leave you behind... It just sorta happened...Sorry!
She bowed her apology, as she watched as Kyo greeted his rider. She wondered what fate had in store for those two. Life changing adventure... She smiled remembering what she had said the first day of her journey. She turned to Brim nearly hopping in anticipation. The wind started to pick up, mirroring her bubbling happiness.
I can't wait! There's gotta be something in there!

Brim smiled and looked on as she gave Kai the book to read through.
"Well. is there anything in there kai that you can make out. im unsure about your past but perhaps there’s some race your familiar with or some culture that you can understand that had wrote on those pages."
As Brim stared at kai it was apparent to her that she new very little about his past, only what she had learnt from travelling with him. she new him to be quite crafty but also hade a loyalty to people and kyo seemed especially fond of him even if he didn’t see it.

Brim looked back across at the city quite a few people were becoming suspicious of them now and a bit edge after seeing them suddenly appear and seeing how they looked.
"Maybe it would be best if we moved on now guys. i think we might have outstayed are welcome."
Brim turned as she said this and looked at them both.
"Kai, you can read the book on the way while we leave. i think it would be best not to start any trouble. Lets go quickly. "
Brim moved out draping her rags around her and waiting for the others to follow. She didn’t have far to go as she decided now would be a good time to visit a new continent and the shore was nearby. She walked with akila and kai across the grassy field to the sandy beach where she took a look out to sea. Now it was time to see what she could do. closing her eyes she held out her hand in front and the ground in front of her began to rumble as a fountain of lava melted out of the earth and flowed into the sea with a great cloud of steam. she quickly moved the lava around into a large cup shape and as the magma cooled it formed a small raft.
"There we go. Perfect. Everyone aboard. Brim said as she jumped inside."

The boat started to go out to sea and she hoped the others would jump in quickly before it left, she wasn’t to keen about stepping out into the water to stop it. she wasn’t sure if she would sink or not.

Kai took the book from Brim and just stared at it for a minute or so, completly oblivious to the fact he was being hurried aboard a ship, and sailing out to sea and even the wierd and wonderful powers Brim was using. Kai shook his head. "My past..is unimportant and completly useless" he muttered. "But" he said, "From what we know it is obvious that this book wasn't meant for one person, but was infact made for..well a piece for everyone, that way everyone can understand some of it" Kai's explanation still confused him though. If this was written in so many languages, how come his natural language didn't come up? "It explains a lot" he said, almost to himself, "That if the gods created this- and im not saying they definitly did- then there would be a chocobo language in here, and Al Bhed, and these others that i've never even seen before, even your language, Brim because they all the gods wouldn't speak the same" It was all pieceing together...though really, the information he'd found out would still be totally useless.

"Perhaps your right kai. i was just hoping there could be something that could help you in there. Perhaps when we arrive at are next destinations there will be someone there you can talk to who might understand one of the languages, perhaps a warrior like yourself."
The boat started to go out to sea and brim watched as akila and Chirichi jumped on board. it wasn’t long before they were far out to sea and the land disappeared from view. the wind grew strong and there seemed to be something strange in the air which brim didn’t like. it felt like something bad was about to happen.
"Kai, akila, i don’t know what’s going to happen when we face the one with the orb but i just want you both to know i have enjoyed travelling with you and having friends by my side."
Brim turned to the front of the boat and held her rags tightly as they drifted with the wind.

They drifted for some time and the others remained silent, focused on there own thoughts. brim couldn’t blame them she was not quite sure what lay ahead of them.
brim looked over the sea and soon land could be seen.

Felix walked silently down the main street of Zilbul. The street was quiet and empty. . . lonely. Felix wasn't used to being on his own, but he was used to having big responsibilities. Still, he wished he had someone to keep him company.
"Elona. . . Mom. . . I won't fail!"
Felix stopped, and looked up at the sky. Even though it was a cloudy night, he could still make out the constellation of Carbuncle, god of peace and prosperity. His mother loved that constellation, the one that resembled the god she worshipped. Felix didn't share her love for this god. Peace and prosperity? Those words had almost no meaning to him. It seemed that the gods didn't care.
"Carbuncle doesn't care. . . You don't care!"
He screamed angrily at the god, seeming to mock him from up there in the stars.
"I won't fail you, Elona."
Felix vowed not to stop until he found the cure, even if it meant risking everything he had. With this in mind, he continued down the empty street.
