Alright, for those of you who are lazy, I've made a condensed version of the rant. Just cause I know I've just wasted time writing something maybe 2 people will actually read. At least, that's the case most of the time. Condensed version is at the end...

So, I'm at work loading my first trailer of the night. I usually finish of the 2nd half of a trailer, then start the first half of another each night. The first trailer leaves around my break, whether or not it's full. This is usually around 9pm.

So anyways, I'm loading the trailor, doing pretty well, when I notice some lady standing at the end of the trailer. I can tell by her face that she's gonna yell at me for something. I've never seen her around before, and I really don't want to see her again.

Anyways, first thing she asks if how long I've been working there. I said a few weeks, about a month. She then asks the question I knew she would ask. "Do you think your wall is good?". Well obviously you wouldn't be asking me this if you didn't think it was... Oh, and you know, it's so funny how people happen to come by when my current wall isn't all that good because of the packages I'm getting. Honest to God, The 5 or so walls behind this one were perfect, then she shows up on the one that isn't so good. Figures... Same thing when I get backed up. People will show up right when I get a s**t load of packages at once. Or, even worse. They'll come when I just finished off some, and no packages are around. They'll ask me to dump this cart back into the system. By the time I get back, my trailer is jammed with packages, and the people who asked me to dump the cart are freaking out. Yea, well if they didn't pull me out near the end of a trailer, it wouldn't be so bad. Geez...

So yea, back to the story. When she first mentioned it, I thought she may be talking about how there are some gaps. Something that is unavoidable. I mean, I'm actually supposed to build it that way to keep the wall straight, really. Then when I get smaller packages I stick them into these gaps. The lady then tells me to look at some packages at the top. I look, they were crooked. Right then I knew what she was gonna say...

"You threw those packages up there. Blah blah... That is unacceptable, not good load quality." Yada yada. Ok, you wanna know something, but I never told her, just because she seemed like the type who thinks she's so smart that she won't listen to actual fact. Those packages, I never threw them. Some of them, I slid up there, pushed them up, never threw. Some of them, I put them up there when I was on that wall [these packages were on the wall behind the current one], but hey, what a surprise! Some of the bigger packages I was loading on the current wall caused the small ones to shift a tiny bit.

Just because something isn't straight, doesn't mean it was thrown, FFS!

Oh, and another thing I should point out. This lady, some exec or something... By the looks of her, her size and stuff... The only things she's ever loaded in her life was on a computer! I don't see how she would know anything about how packages react, by simply being told how things should be. People who work with me have seen my walls just like how she saw it and never said there was anything wrong. Infact, when I start my shift, the person before left their wall in the same state.

You know how bad it is though... I often nudge packages foward on the rollers so that I don't have to bend down to. It makes perfect sense, right? Well, if she saw me do that, I swear she'd say I was kicking the package. That's how out of touch she seems to be.

Oh, and the best thing she said. "Do you need training?" Wow... Ok, let's recap... At the start, she asked how long I've worked there. I said about a month. The first month... Hell, maybe even 3 months... All of that IS training! Idiot... stare

Anyways, I just kept on nodding, hoping she would leave, because her incessive bitching was backing up my trailer. She left, and whatever.

Now, you know, there is one thing I mentioned earlier. About how you need to have actually loaded a trailer to know how things work. Well, I'm sure that everyone there have created their own ways to load trailers. Refined a way to set up the wall so that you leave space for odd packages. That is, afterall what they tell you to do. My trainer told me that I should make some space for when I get a long package. Best is it is at top, to lock it a lot of walls together. My wall, or "lack of a wall" as that lady said... had a nice space at top so that I can put any odd packages up there. Not just long ones. Flat ones, light ones... Hell, even bags that contain many small packages. It's what you should do! These packages aren't so good at the base of a wall!

One thing I had thought in the past, which I think I will start doing. For any of those spaces that are part of an old wall. When I get the chance, I'll cover it up with the current wall. Use light packages to make the current wall look perfect, but still have that open space behind it so that when I do get an odd package. I just move the cover and throw it inside. No one would be the wiser. Hell, I bet most people do that anyways... Just because some bonehead who sits in an office decides to play God.

The greatest part is that, I treat the packages well. Better than what they go through on the conveyor belt. Hell, other people throw their packages all the time, and they still put them through less trauma than they go through on the belts...

So, for all you preppy, office dwellers. Leave the work to those who actually do the work. Go play Solitaire or something. No, play Tetris, maybe then you'll have a feel of what I have to do to build these walls. It has to be 3D Tetris though.

I think that about covers it all. Condense time...

I'm loading a trailer, building walls so that the packages don't go flying around.

Some suit lady shows up, all pissy looking.

She asks how long I've worked there for, I say about a month.

She hates on my wall, y0.

I think she's ******** crazy, but I just nod away, knowing she'll go away soon.

She knows nothing of loading a trailer. A computer program? Sure. A trailer? Never in a billion years.

She needs to go watch some up to date video on how to load a trailer. Not one of those ones we had to watch in orientation. Those were older than me...

Long explaination on how I'm right, and she should go play Solitaire or 3D Tetris.

Thank You, lady. I don't know you, I don't want to know you. GTFO of my way, I got a trailer to load.

' How many Mozzarella sticks go in an 8 piece LARGE order?!'

'Uh 8?'

' 12'

'That's 4 too many, don't over cook products!'

'But front cash just ordered some mozz....'

'You cook in order, you hear me?!'

Good rant *claps*

I love morons like that.

I sometimes wonder who they slept with to make it up higher in the company.

I don't tend to get too many people up in the company having a go... since the people above me earned it with their brains...

But I get my fair share of morons as customers.

"Excuse me, but do you have any fresh sandwiches..."
Me - "Yes we do, they're in the fridge there"
"Can't you make me one"

At this point I need to point out that the shop in which I work is tiny and a sandwich bar would take up 95% of the entire shop

Me - "No, I'm afraid we don't have a sandwich bar, our shop is too small to hold one."
"[[insert pissy comment about how rude this is, or how unacceptable it is]]"

God, I just wish they'd realise that the only thing you can be yelling at is the shop for being too small, and that I don't magically control what the area manager puts into our shop.

Ooh... and here's a list of other idiotic things we get asked regularly.

"Could I have a vegetarian pasty?"
(Since when did we turn into cannibals...)

Me - "Would you like a small, medium or large pasty"
Them - "Yes"

Them - "What do you have freshly cooked?"
Me - "We've got small, medium and large steaks, chicken, vegetable, chesse and vegetable, sausage rolls, meat patties, bacon bites and sausage tasties."
Them - "Have you got a mince pasty?"
Me - "No, we don't sell any mince pasties"
Them - "How about a small mince?"
Me - "No, we don't sell any mince pasties"
Them - "Okay... so what do you have?"
At this point I try my best to refrain from strangling the customers.

frylock - ]shoves your face into the condensed version at the end of the post[

Don't make me post a long rant about people not wanting to read long posts and then they post that they don't want to read it... stressed

Fuji - Before I typed "straight", I knew someone was gonna point something out. I didn't even have the sentence thought out in my head, I just knew I was gonna have that word there.

Seth - Perhaps he thinks that just because he can't count properly, neither can anyone else. lol

Duo - That's pretty much why I hate any formal type of job. Aside from the fact that I couldn't wear any clothes they'd want me to wear [not just because it's not my style, but mainly because I really can't stand the way it fits, and the fabric. I wear loose clothes for a reason, I find most fabrics irritating to my skin]. Those types of jobs are usually full of BS power hungry people.

Not all are like that, I mean, I did work for a short time at this office that was somewhat laidback. They needed me to scan in a bunch of their old ads into their computer system because they were moving. They didn't care what I wore. Hell, I wore my LP hat with my buttons all over it there. There were some more professional looking old farts there watching me, but they never said anything to me. That office actually owned a bit. Each office, they had music playing, not all of them great. Luckily I was stuck with this guy who played Rammstein a lot. domokun

[Bleed It Out! w00t!]

Anyways, here's an idea. Write down the menu on a piece of paper, and tape it to your face. Maybe then they won't ask. Better yet, a FAQ! I'd say stick it on the counter or something, but something tells me they won't even notice it. I'm sure that, with it on your face, at least some of them will notice it when they go to ask you. At least, I hope that they aren't that stupid. >_<

You guys know what's even worse. One of the things I could myself getting into is becoming a tattooist. I'd think I'd be really good at it, my cousin thinks so aswell. Sometime back I had gone down to a parlor to show them my art, to get some tips. I swear, tattoo parlors are starting to go corporate. gonk I mean, this wasn't a simple misunderstanding. I know that a parlor should look good to attract all sorts of customers and such. However... I guess the best way to explain it would be... Take some hardcore punk rocker, and put him in a suit. There was something there that didn't seem right.

At least I do have other ways to learn how to tattoo if I wanted to. My cousin is friends with a tattooist. He gets tons of ink done from this guy. Actually, he told me that he had tattooed at least someone from Sum 41. Haha. In anycase, my cousin wants me to show my art to that guy. Maybe I could apprentice from him. The problem? They live in the middle of nowhere pretty much. I don't want to really leave the city.

Air-What do you do?

Seth-Arbys is evil! But they have good food.

Duo-What the hell?! I feel so bad for you man.

These are some classic examples of why I do not want to join the workforce. I will sooner or later but dam, some people are just stupid. Then it makes you wonder, is this person reproducing? Oh god I hope not.

Liz - I load trailers for UPS

fry - You didn't really need to point that out. I mean, I did add that condensed version afterall.

Oh, I love this. So, all of thise was on Monday, on Tuesday, I saw the b***h talking to my trainer while they watched me load. Last night at the start of my shift, my trainer brought me to show me an example of a good wall. It wasn't perfect, but you know it was just to show me some pointers.

This is what I loved best about it. After he showed me, I mentioned to him about how the lady was accusing me of throwing the packages based on how they looked like. I told him I never threw them, I had pushed them/they shifted because of other packages. He totally understood. BooYaa!

However, here's the greatest part. When he heard that, he replied something along the lines of, "You know, I would have rather her to have at least shown you what you did wrong". That is exactly what I was thinking when I first saw her! This is another reason why I don't think she should be going around yelling at people, because quite frankly, she knows squat! Had she done something to make me believe she was trying to be helpful, I would have respected her. She didn't even need to touch a package, I would have understand since she was wearing fancy s**t. However, she was at no shortage of words at the time. She could have easily done something to improve my work. I hope my trainer gives her an earful. twisted

Oo, another great thing. After showing me that trailer, I went to work on mine. My trainer came in after about 5 minutes and started pointing out what was wrong with the wall. I noted that everything he had a problem with, was already there when I got there. See, there's people who've worked there much longer than me, and are making horrible walls. I'm glad he saw it too, cause he now better understands why my walls weren't so good. I mean, I have a shitty wall builder before me, so when I see it, I think it's perfectly fine to build a wall that way. Also, the way they leave the wall makes it harder for me to start a new wall. My trainer fixed that other guy's wall for me, and you know what happened. I had ******** perfect walls after that. They wanted a picture of the first one. xd

We never actually took any pics. It was just that good. mrgreen

Besides, I don't need to prove anything to her. I mean, she isn't greater than me, so doing so would suggest I think she is better than me.
