eek I warn you, though. Even you think you sound cool using ore, it's not always right. And it can get your a** kicked very easily.

I think Japanese girls would be slightly feared about a gaijin who used 'ore' to them. They might run away. sweatdrop

actually, the girls I talked to in Tokyo giggled when I'd open up with "ore wa gaijin da" and then ask them for help reading my maps.

and I'm pretty big, so I'm not worried about getting my a** kicked. >.>

eek ...........

Hmm, it's interesting that they were laughing. I don't mean to sound rude, but...

I really recommend you don't use that kind of language in future sweatdrop

To say "ore wa ____ da." to anyone that you dont know, using both ore and non-polite forms, it's so incredibly rude... sweatdrop .. Watashi wa gaijin desu would have suited perfectly.. Sumimasen ga.. Watashi wa gaijin desu. Tasukete kudasai. With a nice bow. I recommend it for picking up, in future. redface .. Even other Japanese I meet over here, I am very very polite to until they or I, if I have seniority, decide that it's okay for us to be good friends by changing speech pattern. I know Japanese is very complicated, but it's very easily to screw up big time too. redface

yeah, I only know a few phrases... I guess I could switch to boku, but I will not use watashi, it makes me feel girly. sweatdrop

I used to piss my japanese language 101 classmates off by using 'anta' instead of 'anata' too. xd
