It had been odd. Moments slipped in and out of consciousness, glimpses of the waking world that made no sense. Comprehending and yet not at all comprehending. Aurahkah's hand twitched and she made a sound the cross of a whimper and groan.

Lying at the edge of the bed as usual, the winged wolf who had always stood guard, was doing so again. Though he left the most of his thief's care to Saradin. It was right after all. He own attentions had mainly been focused on the little wolf eared girl who was lying nearby as well. Odd how the girl was taking all of this and a pair of new fangs growing in all at once. She hadn't made a single complaint.

Quiet as ever, she lay across the bed, her chin resting on her crossed arms. Her ears twitched lightly as she just listened to the quiet of the room, save for the steady breath of all. Ecara gave a sigh, only to roll over and crawl across the bed to lay against her father.

Another twitch of her hand, and another noise. Aura drew in a rather deep breath then let it out in a sleepy sounding sigh before her eyes fluttered open, a moment of blue before their natural color set in. She shifted ever so slightly, before propping herself up on her elbows and looking at each of those in her company. Ecara and Eclipse at the edge of the bed, Saradin sitting nearby. Aura shifted her weight, reaching over to lay a hand to Saradin's arm. A light laugh. "I really did it this time didn't I?"

A familiar soft chuckle, with an accompanied happy giggle from the child next to him. "And she finally bounces back. Good to see you awake, you had us all worried."

Saradin yawned and stretched as he looked back at Aurah with still more than a hint of worry. "You alright now? You were getting some real rest at last, but are you well enough to get up yet?" Eclipse had filled him in mostly on what had transpired, and Saradin was still a good deal disturbed at how quickly something like that could transpire while he still slept; comfortably or no. Things were always chaotic, and they would always be in some new danger, so why couldnt he do more to help?

K'erith glided out of his room and down into the library, he started to examine some of the many books and manuscripts when he came across Dante's Inferno, his eyes widened, "I havent read this one since it first came out." He noticed it was one of the first copies to come to print. he grinned and sat down in a large chair, kicking his feet over one of the arms..

Well his reaction was better than she had thought it to be. Sure, he still sounded worried but it wasn't that freaking out gone insane from worry worry. Seemed he had once again adjusted to the chaos of the place. Aura sat up and brushed a few strands of hair from her face. "I still feel odd..." What was it that Phea said Taig had done? She couldn't remember. Shaking her head as if to shake off that very feeling she offered Saradin a smile. "I'm fine though." Knocked back slightly as she was ambushed by Ecara, who had hold of her in a hug now. "Nice to see you too sweetheart, you weren't trouble were you?"

"No. I was good."

A look back to Saradin as brief spouts of information was offered up to her via mind link from Eclipse at the end of the bed. "Thank you Rain, for watching over me." Leaning over she placed a kiss on his cheek before forcing herself to stand from the bed, setting Ecara on the floor. "See, good as ever." For the most part.

He ate and drank slowly, disturbed by his own darker thoughts. he didn't know how to approach the path brightsaber had offered. Tyler's visit had made him very happy, but he was also saddened that only Tyler would come to his Den. none of the others would venture near it. even his 'brother' only came there when absolutly necessary. Raven lived with him, and Tyler woudl visit. Nailah woudl come but only if invited for a specific reason. the others avoided it entirely. was he really so easily seen for a monster? Was the Beast truly such a frightening part of him that it tainted Cymarron?

The thought made him angry. damn them. damn all of them. damn thier fears and thier trepidation. he was thier packmate, thier protector...and none of them wanted to be around him unless they had to be. except the kits..only they looked at him without worry, or fear. Nailah looked at him with love, but now brightsaber told him it was tainted. a reaction from her empathy for his love of her.

But he didn't know how to bury those feelings. he could put up no wall. and he wouldn't if he could. they made him feel better, the made the dark less cold. Seeing in her eyes to love, even if it wasn't the romance, made him feel strong. gave him purpose. to provide for her wants and needs, to protect her from the darkness both in the outside world and within himself.

Coban and Kali, thier love had even endured the grave. how had they done it. how had Coban been able to show such affection and love without drowning Kali in it, and causing more discomfort and worry and pain than good?

No. he promised not to try to change her mind. she choose to remain for now alone with Tyler. and he was happy for her. and for Tyler, that he had found a mother and she a son and that was all they needed right now. she didn't need a lover, and he didn't need a father. But he still wanted to be both for them.

He growled, and flung the empty container of eggnog across the kitchen. Why coudl thing not be like before. why all the doubt, all teh second guessing, and the damned emotional confusion. Why couldn't it be easy again, as it was before. to know just what he was told to know. feel only what someone let him feel.

Things proceeded quickly, and Saradin knew enough from what he was seeing daily around here not to press the issue that she was so grievously harmed just a week past. Besides, it seemed that she had recovered well enough to walk and speak and act almost as if it had never happened. Ecara was already several personality shades brighter in the few minutes that passed since her mother's awakening and everyone's worry was gone from obvious sight at the very least. Life was beginning to proceed as if it were a normal day and of course next thing to consider was food. Beyond a small amount that she had been able to recieve during lapses of conciousness, Aurah had been without a full meal and Saradin's cooking instinct told him that this was a travesty.

A brief trip to her closet to change her clothes, and she joined the little group again. A moment of study for Saradin who was quiet, but she let it go. He was a quiet man at times after all. "Well...I'm starved. How about some food?" Taking Ecara by the hand, she took hold of Saradin's and gave it a tug, pulling him up and along with her. "Come on. You've probably been couped up in here too long." Then a whistle and Eclipse was soon to follow after the little group, all the way to the kitchen. Not surprisingly enough, it was already occupied. It's occupant? Cymarron. Who didn't seem to be in the best of moods.

The scent alone made his ears perk and his tail twitch, before he turned his gaze to the arrivals...and gave teh biggest, warmest smile a feline could hope to offer, expecially since emotionally he was in the middle of a gordian knot.

"The Hunt was successful we take it, you are awake again, and seemingly healthy. We apologize beforehand for the kitchen's restock..and if you need your wine we will fetch it for you."

He sniffed the air.

"and where is our favorite canine kit? We have missed our little Ecara."

She merely blinked at that then took a swift look around the kitchen. Eyes came to rest on the bar. Her alcohol was missing. Now why was her? Oh yeah. Bastet was her likely answer which was confirmed through Eclipse. "Oh...it's alright. I probably shouldn't be drinking anyway."

A giggle and Ecara stepped out from behind her mother to give Cymarron a smile, the very tips of new fangs visible. "Right here. I was helping Saradin Phoenix and daddy watch mommy while she was asleep."

The stock of the kitchen was growing stranger these days. Much more healthy foods than normal, but Saradin could easily make due. An ordinary man moving at that speed would have sent food flying through the air and all over the entire kitchen, but Saradin was no ordinary man. In minutes, breakfast was served, despite watching the ingredients go in, it seemed impossible that the results were built from them as a pot of strong, and very appealing, smelling soup was made. "Eat up. Its healthy, but its good. I promise." Bowls were spooned out and sent off to his culinary worshipers. But none of this is to say that Cymarron was ignored in his plight and though the one looking at him through only partial understanding served to mask another that could see through the same eyes and saw all of the truth. "Things unwell Cymarron?" But the look he had was gone, burried beneath his more pleasant visage.

"then come over to us, and let us see those new fangs."

There were a few new clawed gouges in the table. but the claws for now were sheathed. however dark his thoughts had been before they entered, obviously seeing Aurahkah and her family had relieved at least some of the pressure for the moment.

"We have missed your company. no one spends much time with us save for you young kits, since Raven left to train her familiar."

A hint to those darker thoughts, and a brief flare of anger in dark eyes..just as quickly replaced by a pleased look at seeing some of his pack awake and about.

"We know you should not drink, Den Mother. but we also know that it helps calm your nerves and soothe your thoughts. we have made much teas to do similar, but you may not find them as appealing to your palate as your wine. which is why we did not bury it. and becuase you threaten to take away our eggnog."

He chuckled lightly.

Stroll over she did, showing off what she was so very proud of to Cymarron. However her nose caught scent of food and she hadn't eaten much over the week either. Worry seemed to make her sick to her stomach easily.

She couldn't help but laugh. Saradin as always."Healthy...eh, what do I care, it's food and you made it, it has to be good. Besides, I would eat anything right about now." A seat taken at the table, another taken by Eclipse the third by Ecara, each grabbing their own bowl. A few spoonfuls before her attention went back to Cymarron. "Trouble among the ranks? Last I saw no one could get away from anyone."

Sitting near a window, the she wolf breathed a sigh, her mood had not improved in quite a long time. She had spent too much time with her brother to feel joy. The elf did remind her that he was a symbol of inner turmoil straffed by hardship, but she didn't care. Brightsabre would eventually be a happy elf, probably just not for a few hundred years.

She was gazing out the window when a strange, but attractive smell began to rise from the kitchen, she didn't realize that it had captivated her sense of smell so much, that she actually walked towards it. The she wolf still dreaming of faraway despairs wandered into the kitchen and towards the source of that sweet scent. Not before long, she felt like she was in a crowded room, and before she walked into the stove, she stoped, and realised that she had wandered into the kitchen, she turned around to spot Eclipse and his family... She waged her tail once before bolting behind the Bar.

"things are unwell..? not entirely. We have..been very lonely. Our emotions confuse us and brightsaber says we are dangerous and that our emotions hurt nailah, even our affection. We are..alone. it bothers us some. Our den is too big now, without the Raven. our other brother does not visit us. the rest here...we feel looked at like a rabid dog on a chain. no one wants to come near it unless they have to. except the kits."

He picked up Ecara, and held her on his lap. idly braiding her hair again. it seemed to help him relax a bit.

"We remember what it was like when we only felt what our master wanted us to. we only knew what he wanted us to know. it was much simpler. we felt only pain, hunger, and the hunt. we knew only our targets, who the master wanted gone, and the rules."

A sniff at the air before he raised his muzzle from his bowl, licking off the soup that had soaked into the fur. An ear swiveled one direction, a distinct sound that matched one of his own made. Distinct smell as well. Eclipse licked at his muzzle again and then gave a chuckle, turning his head slightly to the familiar smell. "I smell and Aurora. Hiding when there's hot soup up for grabs? Seems a little disturbing to me.

Ecara had the mind about her to grab her own bowl as Cymarron picked her up, and only continued her eating as her ears idly twitched at conversation between the adults.

And she stared into her soup for a moment. She didn't like what Cymarron was saying, because she had heard it all before from the feline. However, she didn't have the energy to reprimand him or contradict him or anything. In fact she was still feeling quite overly lethargic.
