The elf looked at Nailah, and read her like a book. He looked at the ground. He who needs you most, you chose. The elf wanted to comfort her, wanted to do many things, but he was lost. All he was ever good for was singing, and now singing and sword swinging. "I once told you Elias that you did not love or Respect Nailah. Did you ever figure out why?"
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2005 10:04 pm

Elias rose from the table and knelled beside Naliah, removing his gloves to gently remove the tears from her face. "No, Nalaih, my love no more tears. I Don't want to see you crying anymore, yes you have my heart, but that's the way I want it, keep it safe for me, and maybe someday when you're ready you can give it back. But no more tears I am happy, to see that i am loved by you, it is not the love that I want, but it is love, and what greater prize can there be that the love of woman as great and as special as you....this is one is content merely to know that you love me....in whatever way.....as a friend or as a bother....but I all I ever wanted was to be loved by you......and that is exactly wha you have shown me....that I am loved....and that is all i ever wanted" Elias said as he gently placed his lips of her cheek, wiping the tears away withi his lips.

The elf watched Elias' movements with some comfort, his words were perfect. If only he haden't kissed her tears.

The elf smirked. He looked at Nailah, and his heart sank. Something could be fixed, others could not.

Nailah looked at Elias for a moment and then said "I will keep it and try very hard not to cause any damage to it for the time being. But I am only human, despite my extremely advanced age, and I do make mistakes. Case in point being the other night." She smiled when she felt his lips on her cheek. He really was sweet and she did believe him. He hadn't done those things to her. He wasn't that cold and callous. She shot a quick glance to the elf and gave him a look that said clearly explain yourself, because I'm seeing something very different right now. "As a matter of fact Nelphean I never did come up with an explanation I felt was right. Care to tell me?"

"Tyler's future depends on you more than anyone else." Nelphean looked at her with clear eyes, "I think you are aware of how much he loves you, and how your well-being is important to keeping him him." The elf looked at her, he made a promise, so he would not use that information. That made this discussion hard, Nelphean had only talked to him once before.

"If you wish to hear him sing to his fullest voice, I believe that you have made the correct choice."

Nailah nodded. "I do care about him. A great deal. I think of him as my own son." The son I never had. "And I understand that my time needs to be devoted to raising him but wouldn't he be better off with a strong male figure in his life? And don't Elias and Cymarron and you and your brother and Saradin fit that. He can learn a lot from me but I can't teach him how to be a man. I can teach him about love and patience and to an extent how to fight but I can't teach him the things all boys need. I want him to grow up loved and cared for but I also want him to have everything he needs that is in my power to get for him." She paused. "Elias is a wonderful father himself and Cymarron will be...someday. What would be so wrong if I chose one of them. I woudl still love Tyler with all my heart. He has a place no one could ever take."

Elias rose from the floor and said nothing just stood there watching.....he had learned one thin during all of this. Keep your mouth shut....you did good....now just shut up. Elias smirked at his own comment

"Would you like to know all my reasons for detesting your suitors then?" The elf looked at the ground, he didn't want to hurt her, he didn't want to tell her manythings that he had noticed, he didn't want to bring more confusion to this mess. "Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't."

"Instead of pointing my jealous fingure at their flaws and inaccracies, and trying to convince you that they never loved you, I will just tell you this..."

"Have you ever been in love with someone, who asked you not to love them? Did you stop? Did you want to hurt people who didn't listen to her? Did you for any moment give up on her? Did you ever grudge that she did not want to be loved by you? I heard her heart say, 'I wish for peace, one of my own.'... I watched her be herself, and try to be free of her underthoughts, I watched her become confused when she was drowned in affection, I listened to her heart cry many, many times. Still, I did not let her know of my fellings, because she didn't want to know them." The elf looked away. "I am afraid that I will lose my love because I did what she asked me to do, and I did nothing to stop her suitors, who would not listen to her."

Nailah heard everything the elf had to say and thought about it. She turned each phrase over in her mind and tapped her fingers against the table. He spoke of love and selfish desires but hadn't she been the selfish one? Leading them on and then hurting both of them. He had said he didn't want to confuse her but he had done just that. She sorted through his words and tried to guess his meaning. "Nelphean...you have certainly given me quite a bit to think on. At the same time I find your words a bit unsettling. It is true that I often took long hours to try and figure out which one I should choose. In the end that choice was one I could not make." She shook her head. Feelings? Silence? Feelings for her? Did Nelphean love her and had never told her? What was going on here? She stood and replaced the cheesecake in the fridge. Then turning around she nodded to the two and said "I will retire to think on these things. I shall talk to you both later. Good night." This would keep her up for a while...

Elias stood contemplating what the elf has said, and he could but agree with many of the things the man had said. "My dear Sir Nelphean, you are far more wise than this one could ever hope to be, it seems that what out of all those who loved this woman it was only you who did what was best or her, and not want your heart told you....I only hope that you do not hate this foolish man for what he has done." He said as he put his hand gently on the man's shoulder. Elias looked at Naliah and smiled. "You will forgive me dear, but this nights finds me more romantic that I anticipated.....and I once steal a kiss from the woman that stole my heart." He said as he pressed his lips gently against hers.

Nailah was taken by surprise and because of that she did not do anything for the first few seconds. She let the kiss continue for a second or two and then broke it. Nodding to him with a smile she said "Good night Elias." Then she headed out of the kitchen and into her room where she fell asleep the moment her head hit her pillow.

((school tomorrow and I've already been up way past my limit. Night guys.))

Elias smiled at Nalaih, as he watched her leave. "God I love that woman." Elias laughed as he looked back to stare at the elf. "I am sorry for the grief I have cause you, and for the pain that I have Naliah becuase of my selfhisness, you are truly a good man, and this one is honored to have know you." Elias said with a bow to the Nelphean. "Have a good night Sir Nelphean." Elias said as he made his way to his rooms, and into the awaitint arms of the only woman that loved him as much as he loved her...his young daughter. That night Elias went to sleep with a smileon his his face and an angel in his arms.

Cymarron heard. every word. he'd been a shadow in the dark outside the kitchen..but said nothing. the elf..hatred flared for only a second. he was doing as she asked. he always did. he wasn't pressing any matter, she'd made a choice, he let it lie as that. She'd chosen her son. humans..and elves..confused him..so he kept walking. past the den, past the gates. away from the elf, the humans, all of them. he coudln't be waht she wanted or needed him to be..and now the elf didn't think he was following her wishes because of his wretched selfhatred and limited empathy. he wanted that sword now, and badly.

"We were doing as she wished. she picked her son, we have not spoken of affection, nor shown her any since. you, brightsaber...foolish, selfpitied wretched shadow. what would YOU know of it. go back to your damned little world and leave ours alone."

Who was the puppeteer. the shadow the elf feared. ah yes. Fenix. maybe he should go to that one. hate. he hated the elf. he hated the elf's arrogance in that lecture, the condesnding manner of a being that didn't know half of what he was talking about. HATE. it burned. and he revealed in the sensation.

"If we coudl strike you down, elf..we would. not not give a second's thought to it. perhaps Fenix woudl help us. maybe we should go find Fenix, and take him right to you. let you face your enemies."

He sat in teh forests, listening to the sounds he coudl hear. the death of animals the life of others. and right now..he wanted to tear the whole of the world down, crashing around the ears of human and elf.

The elf smiled at the confusion he caused Nailah, it would be the first time that she was ever completely unaware of affection. He looked at Elias, who said some very kind words, but the elf was not overly pleased with the brute, he was a brute, only brutes torture people. The elf sighed as yet another throne entered his relationship with Elais, and one appeared with Cymarron. The elf looked at Rakka in his hand, and replaced her on his belt.

"I should hold you Kara, I promised never to draw blood with you, my shield." He smiled weakly. He looked back at what he said, and felt guilty, he was after all, not allowed to tell her those things. But what choice did he have, brake his word to Tyler, no. Tell her of the horrors that suitored her, no. Tell her of a secret he had kept, and allowed to grow since the moment he looked into her Violet eyes and felt her soul...

The elf walked out of the kitchen, somehow, it had become night. The elf felt sick in his stomach, felt his nerves weak, and felt like he had betrayed everyone around him. He dragged his feet for the first time for being depressed. How could he have done that to Nailah. Was he beign selfless, or selfish...

Most certainly selfish, the selfless man would have...

Nelphean had no idea what a selfless person would have done, even though he was without a self. He found his way to the vaults, and surrendered himself to their depths. He felt like he needed to be alone, but he deeply yerned to be with Ecara, to drown his sorrows in song to entertain that sweet girl...

He recalled the softness of the sheets, and the gentleness that guided him to them. Had he done it for her, or for himself? The elf pondered...

"Am I a False Elf?" He said aloud, listening to his voice echo from the walls. "Did I do everything I did for her?" The elf only questioned these things now, because he felt guilty about this situation... Maybe if he had been more upfront before, she would not have been pressed, perhaps if he could have guided the other two, or counciled them, or done something to slow their advances...

The elf stoped, and dropped onto his knees...

"Why must everyone I love be tortured... Because of me..." A few whispers in his ear drove him to tears, the sound of Fenix's voice did not discourage the abundant guilt. Nailah had certainly proved an effective tool in controlling this elf, and Fenix certainly wanted to keep it that way. Was he to blame for the lack of confidence in the suitors...

No. The lack of confidence was there from the moment they ceased to listen to her, not that Nelphean had ever know them too to begin with. He walked into this mannor at the worste time, everything fell apart, and he was to blame, or was simply not strong enough to stop it.

He placed a hand on his head, he knew she was the reason why he had such a nice dream...

Damn her and her charm, her inspirational benevolence, her warm heart, her self sacrifice, her love...

The elf looked up, knowing full well that none of the psions knew what he was feeling, they would never get to know. He held Rakka again, and turned the blade on... He stared into the yellow blade, and recalled his sacrifice, which he was denied... "Had I died then, would she be happy? Would Tyler be saved, would Ecara still sing?" The elf turned the sword off. He could not leave yet, but he wanted. If he left, they would suffer...

Even if he had to surrender...

Fenix poured the images into Nelphean's mind, the Cymarron was turned against him, and thinking about pledging allegance to Fenix, to rid himself of the impudent, patronizing elf.

Elf, of all the things that could bring about the evil, it had to be your selfish desires... If only you had given me what I wanted, this would have never happened, your life would be over, and mine would continue from where you left off, but you know as well as I that I could never let you travel to the final resting place without some companions... Saradin, Nelphean, Ke'Nel, Sylphina, Aurora, Bastet, and her unborn... Oh, but keep the rest alive I would, yes, all of them. Cymarron and Elias would tear Nailah appart, and I would ravish Ecara in such ways as to make even your darker dreams seem bright.

"The difference between you and s**t is almost indistinguishable. Go ******** a vibroblade and leave my family alone." The elf flared, his emotions dag deeply into the spectre, burning the phantasm's essance. The creature faded away, still not defeated...

Cymarron has always walked a thin line between friend and enemy.

The elf rose from his knees, and his ears twitched. Fenix was not taking that ingury well, he was sending some soldiers to raid the manor... Not some soldiers, but more puppets, men who would never have come had not the dark taint taken their souls, the weak minded men of the earth...

The elf walked from the vaults, and to the front door, but it refused to let him pass, so he took an alternative route. He walked up the stairs and into the solarium, and leaped onto the roof. From there he watched a small shuttlecraft land not too far from the manor, and his heightened senses counted the number of troops, thirty. The elf looked about for the guardians of the manor. "Monolith, the lake is too close to the manor, stop it."

The metal giant rushed from his current location to the lack, and began to feverously push the water away from the manor, and impossible task, but one that would keep him occupied until he was told to stop.

"Talon, Claw... Find Snow and brush her, she needs to be watered as well, take her to the lake first, and then groom her." The elf ordered the stone angels, who complied with the creators brother, and son.

The area was clear, not a soul in sight, and the elf waited fro the arms to fall upon the manor, stilll not comfortable with Fenix's threat. Fenix promised Nelphean that his nightmares would burn Nailah, but when he slept, his nightmares were not even present. Fenix promised Nelphean a great deal of pain at Kellg'hn hand, but in the end, the wizard killed the puppet.

Was leaving the manor just an idol threat, not even possible, or would Fenix be able to wreak havoc upon the manor in Nelphean's absense. This came down to a question of weather Nelphean was willing to risk harm to the manor, and he would not.

The elf watched as the small platoon entered his sight, they wore strange white armour, that looked almost like plastic, with black short riffles, probably of some ancient design. The elf waited until the platoon had entered the manor proper, as he checked their minds. Not a single one was present, it was as though their minds were drained, or eaten. The elf tied his scarf around his mouth, the blue cloth covered his soft flesh, and he watched as the helpless minions approched...

The night sky did not hinder the soldier's movements, they followed their orders, and marched on the location. Their objective, to kill the traitorus scum that lived inside. Those rebellious fools would know what it meant to betray the Crown, and those who fought and died bravely would be rewarded for thier service. The command squad pulled back, and the two troops of twelve marched forward, they were almost ready to sucure the door when all hell broke loose.

"They came from behind." A soldier in the first squad shouted as the entire flank fell, with not much more of a target than a bright yellow light. WIthing that sentance, the other half of the line was cut down, all twelve lay cleaved on the ground, with a tall single sword wielding maniac standing over their corpses.

The second line drew their weapons and fired at the lone swordsman, blasting with all their firepower hoping to evapourate his body. A second light flashed, a blue glowed illuminated the battlefield along with the yellow, then the dance began, the blasts were deflected as easily as a wall might block a tenise ball. Not only were the attacks ineffective, the bolts were knocked back into the the second line, each soldier was slain by his own blaster. The blue sabre had a tendency to deflect high or low, acting solely as a shield, and once the fire disappeared, the blue blade did so as well.

The last six soldiers stood looking at the fallen commrades, not with despair or hatred, but with jealousy and envy. They wished for death. "The force is strong with this once." The commander said, as he and his soldiers drew out their weapons, they each held a pistol and a sword. "For the EMPEROR!" They charged at the lone swordsman, not even hoping to survive, but to kill him and die alongside their kin, to die for the emperor. The elf watched and could not believe what he felt in thier minds, these puppets were weak, and didn't have a prayer in the world, and he regreted that he had to kill them, or watch them continue with their raid. A being with no mind, programed like a golum, would never cease to follow a command.

The comander chased in first, his pistol firing blindly towards the light sword, he found his arm missing as he tried to veir away from where the elf was standing, and then noticed that it was hard to breath. The two next soldier's bodies continued to run after their heads fell off, and the following three found that a single target was often the most difficult to hit. Three swords slashed around, three swords found nothing but air, and then withing a swift turn and a leap, three more bodies fell to the ground.

The elf stood over the decapitated bodies, and felt his heart sink. Each one of their lives could have been spared... How many lives was Nelphean willing to surrender to maintain his hold on his body, how many would die to appease Fenix's bloodlust, to torment this elf. Their was no concievable reason for this battle, there was no reason for this at all...

Nelphean should not even exist, he can't exist. He should have never existed... The elf looked at the bodies, and once again found himself praying to Corellon to guide these men to their final resting place, to welcome them into his fold, and give them peace. The elf looked at Kara sitting on his hip, and frowned. He would need another blade if he was to continue fighting for ever, his shield would never be used to draw blood, but he did need to increase his ferocity, this battle was needlessly long, with two blades to despense death, he could walk through these minions with no problems at all...

The elf looked at his hands, he was making death into a a duty, his duty. Nelphean lived to kill things, that was all he was good for??

The elf felt his heart grow weak, "I can sing..." He tried to convince himself, "I can sing..." His voice was weak with his wear and tare. He fell to his knees, and held his sides... "I am not just a warrior, I can live peacefully, I know I can..." Rakka fell from his grip, the smell of the dead rose into his nostrils, he had killed them all, regretfully. He was not being honest, he was being a killing machine...

Talon and Claw herd the blast fire and rushed back to the front just in time to see the final sword dance, Nelphean's grace and energy could be felt from where they were in the sky, the violence in his movements was not that of brute strength, of vicius fury, but of a different, more ellogant dance of death.

Landing beside the cringing elf, Talon surved the damage. "I cannot tell how many were here, their bodies are mangled, but they all died quickly. We heard the battle, and came to aid, you knew it was coming yet you sent us away..."

Claw knet beside the first group. "Their armour is made from platsteel, their weapons are fancy. They would not have been cheap to perchase." The gargoyle shifted the broken bodies, and found a severed head, and removed the helmet. He looked upon the face of the intruder, who seemed to smile in death. He was confused by that joy, so he opened another helmet... "Brother, Father, They are not different."

Talon went and investigated what Claw was suggesting, confused by the wording. "They are the same, they look exactly the same." The stone angel agreed, and removed another helmet... "They all have the same face."

"A clone army." How absurd, no one could build a clone army. "Come, let us bary them. They deserve that honour, as they died as warriors." The elf stood, and pondered the apparent cloneing craze. "Perhaps that is why they enjoy death?" The elf called for Monolith, and began to gather the fallen, the night reached its climax, and the battle had been over for an hour, when the second cairn was raised next to the first.

"By the time that Fenix is finsihed with me, I believe we will have built a mountain."
