Marya silently follows, not really caring where they go. She overhears parts of their conversations and comes to the conclusion that they both have strong feelings for a vampiress. She laughs, this is going to be very interesting.

I accept Raye's hand and stand up. "Then lets get going. I'll show you all the rooms, with the exception of Marya's." I told her. Then I receive Alana's message. ~You missunderstand me. I have no entention of doing anything you suspect. I am well aware of how fragile humans are and would do nothing that would bring any harm to Raye, emotional or physical. If she decides to stay in my room, we wont be sharing the same bed.~I reassured her. No matter how much I'd like to there were three things that stopped it. One, I might cause physical injury to her human body while we sleep by tossing through the day. Two, the sun might seep through the window and kill me. Three, it's too early in a relationship that I'm not even sure has even begun. Because of that I wouldn't allow it. I watch the as Alana squeezes Raye's shoulder and look at me, and I understood what she was telling me. Then Raye talks. I smile and say, "I dont' think your going anywhere." I lead her up the stairs and too a longhallway filled with doors. I walk over to an open door and close it. I then lean against it. "These are the only bedrooms in the house. You can stay in any of them except the one I'm leaning against, it's Marya's." I told her.

I laugh at her demonstration of the emptiness. "I always preferred big houses. The house I lived in after I was turned was riddled with secret passage ways, and the house I lived in as a human was very big. I had this one built, at night of course. That way I could oversee it and help where I could. There are even a few passage ways that I had built in certain places." I said.

Alana nodded at Camaris once. ~I trust you~ She promised, then moved silently to a room. She didn't pay much attention to its appearence, simply closed her eyes and focused her mind, running through all the possiblilities of places she could take Raye. She didn't want to imagine what would become of here if the balvorines found her. Worst case scenario: she became one of them.

Markus reached the edge of the woods and cursed, leaping down and flitting as fast as he could against hte ground, sending a mental message to the others to follow him.

Marya followed without question. She's positive that this vampire can be trusted.

I sit down on the floor across from her. "I was born in England in 1405. I was taught swordsmanship when I was five. My skills were very good for my age and I was soon knighted and was placed in the kings personal gaurd. I answered only to him. Back then schooling was not very important so I was basically uneducated. My mother taught me how to read and write so I could advise the king on what he should and shouldn't sign. It wasn't untill at least a hundred years later that I became educated." I said. I take a pause and begin to gather my thoughts. I haven't thought about this for at least five hundred years. I smile. "The first order I was given was to go to the aid of a nearby farming village. It was being attacked and raided by an unknown enemy. I took with me twenty of the kings finest warriors. We built a small encampment outside of the village and put up a twenty four hour watch, alternating shifts. On the second day one of the men from the village came to us and said they would feel safer if we stayed inside the village. We agreed and stayed in different homes. I stayed with a blacksmith, his wife, and daughter. He was the one that created and engraved the ring I gave you. There wasn't any problems untill our second month in the village. We were about to pack up and leave when we were attacked. There were twice as many men attacking than I had at my disposal. We eventually drove them off and I lost most of my men. The blacksmith asked if I would marry his daughter and I had to accept, the king would have been dissapointed if I wouldn't. By accepting the marraige it would have been possible to turn the village into a small city. Defenses would later be built around it and soldiers were stationed there. I was only sixteen at the time." I told her. I closed my eyes for a moment, remebering that the same city would be razed to the ground a full thirty years later. I push it from my mind and continue my story. "By the end of my seventeenth winter I would be one of the most honorable knights in the kingdom. My accomplishments rang throughout the kingdom and people would come from all over just to see me at the joust. I've even heared of a few storys of me, though they were a little more extrtavagent than I remebered the incedents. When I was eighteen I decided that I would go see my family. I haven't seen them in about three years." I said. A tear falls down my cheek as I remember the next moments. "I walked in the house and my mother was overjoyed to see me. She had the torches lit since it was getting dark. I went to see father out in the stables. He informed me that my horse got loose a couple years before and they haven't seen it since. I told him not to worry and that I had another horse in the kings stables. Then we heard mother scream. We rushed in the house and saw that the room was ablaze. She must have knocked over one of the torches and didn't realize it. Father told me to go get James adn Alexa. I ran up the stairs and shouted for them, but I recieved no answer. I looked out the window and saw them running to the stables. I saw flames from the back and screamed for them, telling them not to go in. They couldn't hear me so I ran down stairs and outside. By the time I left the house the stables were completely ablaze. The roof collapsed before I reached it. I knew that I could no longer help them. James was ten and Alexa was five. I ran back inside to mother and father. There was no one in the kitchen so I ran to the store room. There wasn't anyone there either. I ran back into the kitchen and then the celing started to collapse. Most of the peices were small and easily dogdeable, but one of them I couldn't get out of the way. I fell on me, knocking me unconcious. I woke up that night to ashes and smoking remains of my home. I was turned soon after." I said. I look at her. "And thats about it. Nothing too exciting, but a childhood nonetheless." I said.

Alana smiled silently to herself. It was so quite now, in this room. It gave her a mometn to think, let her muscles relax. This silence, this non-activity... it neared her to sleep, but she managed to maintain conciousness. She moved slightly so she was lying flat on her back, and closed the curtains so that not even the stars could shine into her calming darkness.

Markus moved as fast as he could manage, growing out his nailes and stabbeing a few balvorines as he flitted past, killing as many as he could. There was nowhere safe. they would follow them anywhere they went. eventually, they would have to fight them or simply give up.
