"It's allright, I was just caught off guard and lost balance." Nari said, sitting up. She started to brush her top off, but realized that there was no dirt on it. Then she looked around on the cloud like substance that was the ground, and she rolled her eyes. Of course....
"You have a nasty ability of always getting behind people," she said with a smile. "People like me don't stand a chance."

lets step up the pace a little....this next part will begin to involve sparing in uncomfortable surroundings, training you to be able to focus on your opponent and to only be aware to your surroundings to the extent of not tripping up on something *with that the surounding compleatly drops away, the only thing left being the huge pillar they are on, surrounded by a river of lava* don't let the heat get to you, focus on me. if you can I use my suroundings to get the upper hand *with that said Elana walks to the center of the pillar as the claw transforms into a staff*

Nari looked nervously around her on the lava. The heat hit her in the face, beating the breath out of her. Then she shook her head as she remembered what Elana had said, and she tried to focus. She watched Elanas claws turn into a staff, and she nodded with a small smile on her face. This was perhaps a good chanse to practice staff combat.
She let her daggers transform back in to the bracers she wore on each wrist. Then she put her hands together, letting the brachers touch eachother, and after uttering a serie of forgotten words, they glowed blue and disappeared from her wrists, only to reappear on her hands, in the shape of a long wooden staff. In it's surface there were carvings of dragons and gryphons, and the same runes that usually covered the daggers blades could be found on the staff now.
Nari weighed the staff in her hands, trying it. She nodded. It felt good in her hands, and she tried a few training moves to loosen her muscles and get more comfortable with the new weapon. After that she felt ready and stepped out in the middle of the pillar, trying to ignore the heat that surrounded them.
"I'm ready." she said, getting down in a defencive stance. She was not going to make a first move this time."

Elana was fast, and the swing came even faster, but Nari was ready. Her whole body was adjusted to defence, and she blocked the attack easily.

Elanas attack bounced off Naris block and turned into a powerful swing in one single motion. Nari lowered her staff to block thr swing, but she was not fast enough, and Elanas staff hit her hard in the side. Nari gritted her teeth together, but a gasp of pain still escaped her.
Now when Elana was this close nari took the chanse to attack, and swung the staff over her head, aiming for Elanas right shoulder. This move made her quite defensless, but hopefully Elana would concentrate on blocking.

This move made her quite defensless, but hopefully Elana would concentrate on blocking. *hoping Nari will learn from this, Elana made a vertical block with the staff, at the same time going for a sweep kick*

The kick came out of nowhere, and right after Naris and Elanas staves conected, Naris feet was swept away and she lost balance. Before she knew it, she scraped her elbow on the ground, falling on one side.
