you know...
when you don't really pay attention to movies, they can be really funny.
I look up and they're on Tatooien making Jabba look stupid, then the next thing i notice is they're on the rebel base planning an assault on the second death star, then they're caught in a big net in a jungle planet...
funny things.

I had a similar experience with the first Friday the 13th movie. I was just watching it on and off between some other movie, but the only parts I would catch would be when they were just hanging about around the campsite. I never saw any of the murders.
So it was basically a really long boring movie about some teens that go to this camp and just kinda wander off since there is like... one at the end of the movie.
Horror movies are really boring without the horror...

The only similar experience I've had with a movie was when I left the room for fifteen minutes during Die Hard, and when I came back I hadn't missed anything.

Meanwhile, I did the same thing with Robin Hood: Men in Tights last night. My wife just slept through it until Pat Stewart came on.
