Suddenly Elana disappeared from under Nari. She teleported away like she had know what was about to happen. Nari had little time to break her fall, but managed to form the could under her which prevented her from falling to the ground.
She didn't even have time to think about where Elana has gone before she felt a chill down her spine, telling her something was wrong. She felt Elanas claw dug deep into her back and she cried in pain. The jewel in her forehead flashed as she opened her eyes without cancelling the spell, and she felt a stinging pain in her head.
The cloud vanished under her as she lost concentration. She blinked, drew a number of breaths and began a minor healing spell, just enough to close the wound in her back.

*as Elana's strike went through the wound closed, her shirt still torn. after striking nari, Elana pulled back to let her heal*

As Nari noticed Elana held up to let her heal, she began another spell, healing her wound almost compleatly this time. It also drained twice the energy, but it was for the best. Nari felt a little tired as she looked up at Elana.
"How did you manage to dodge my attack?" she asked. "And.... why did the smoke hurt you?"
That was something she really wanted an answer for. She glanced over her shoulder at the smoke that had almost disappeared by now.

being a psychic I knew where you were going to be so I shaddowed your attack. as for the smoke, it's like when you humans use some kind of disinfectant and it realy stings....in this case it just hurts (no benifit to being in it)

"But I don't get it," Nari said. "It's just smoke... harmless smoke. It shouldn't hurt at all. It's even safe to those with asthma(sp?)."

harmless to you maybe but if I have an open cut it hurts like hell, also because of my cat like caracteristics, having a cut while in the smoke could lead to getting burned in a similar way you would burn your tounge on a hot drink

"I still don't think I understand how that smoke could harm you, but if you say it does, I believe you."
She glanced over her shoulder to the place where the smoke had been; only a thin sheet of smoke lingered lazily above their heads, slowly drifting away.
"Well," she said, looking back at Elana. "It's gone now, so you don't have to worry about it any more."

"Ah.... ok, if you say so," Nari said, and with a swift motion, she threw another set of three small balls into the ground, and as soon as the smoke began to spread, she moved away, closed her eyes and activated the blue forhead jewel that served as her eye when her own eyes wasn't enough.
And she waited, taking the timje to cast a minor healing spell, and the wound in her back that Elanas claw had made, sealed itself compleatly, leaving to trace on the skin.

Nari looked around as Elana disappeared. She tensened her senses and crouched to make herself smaller, and more difficult to detect. Without a sound, Elana appeared in the cloud where Nari had been before, still behind her though.

Nari sensed the teleportation spell and spun around, but Elana wasn't there. Beginning to feel a little nervous, Nari turned her head to look in all directions, but she saw nothing. Where wuld Elana show up next? Nari could only guess, and she slowly moved around in the clous of smoke, trying to have her back as free as possible. Now that she knew Elanas specialty, she would try her best not to give the catgirl a chanse to get behind her.

"Aaah!" Nari was thrown off guard and fell flat on her tummy as Elana suddenly glomped her out of nowhere. "Oof! Owie...."
