I found the end boss of that game to be a real let down- I expected more after all of the repetitive mindless enemy killing I had done.

it's a consol RPG, all consol RPGs are repetetive mindless enemy killing.
For that matter, pretty much all video games are repetetive mindeless enemy killing.
