Damiene_heika Ekko stared at the house, sheepishly standing back away from the crowd and began to inch toward the nearest tree. It made her uneasy to intrude especially if Suru's mother grew upset with a demon appearing with her son. Jumping silently up into the branches she made herself comfortable as she pulled the leaves over her, her tail flicking lazilyGuess I'd better get comfortable, it'll be a while before I go anywhere (((okies everyone i'm going to RP my mom and what she says will be the color violet ok))) Well everything is going good, now please you must be tired, all of please come in and i'll start some supper for everyone.Kasurugi motions for everyone to come on inside his home....And Now The Story Begins.....

*nolan rises from his seat and walks from the home...he follows a long trail and then ends up in the village nerby....he travels to kasurugis home and follows the group of travelrs inside his house....nolan stands in the background and waits for Kasurugi to notice him*

Aeife gasped, more from the pain than being found by the stranger. It wasn't subsiding, in fact it was growing in intensity. She was burning all over from the inside out, being consumed by a ravenous fire that threatened to snuff out her life. But still she resisted screaming, if only not to arouse the concern of this man.
"I'm... Fine..." she finally spoke as the attack began to decline, leaving her panting and beaded with sweat. Her jaw relaxed and her grip on the boulder released, sending her falling forward. Her eyes were half closed as her chest heaved with heavy breath. She was completely exhausted! Without thinking much about it, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to sleep.

*puts a hand on her shoulder to steady her*
you are not fine...
*gets a little concerned when she goes limp, but is assured when he finds out she is only sleeping*
well...can't leave you here, miss.
*stretches her out gentley near the boulder and takes some dead branches lying around nearby to build a fire. goes over to his clothes and swords and gathers them up to dry by the fire. with one last look at her, he heads back in the water to collect his bow and all of his arrows, leaving his now useless backpack to its watery grave. returns to the fire to see if there's anything more he can do for her*

Shouyin...
Aeife's eyes twitched with dream. The sun was bright in her dream... The grass was a flush green with a sky of the purest blue color. She could hear waves on the shore. And then she realized that she was at the place they met again, by the warm southern ocean on the grasses that faded to white sand dunes, leading out to the bottle green sea teeming with life and majesty.
On this area grass and sand she saw him standing, his silver hair reflecting the vibrant rays of the sun, his tail steady with his ears perked high in listening. Overjoyed, she reached out to him and attempted to call his name, but his back was turned and her voice was gone. And though she wanted to run to his side and embrace him, she was anchored to the spot, unable to move.
Without a glance, he seemed to fade off into the distance, miles and miles and miles placed between them. She cried for him without a voice, reaching out with both hands to try and bring him back. Her mouth moved but no words came as tears streamed down her cheeks, unable to chase after him.
"Shouyin!" Aeife shot forward, her eyes wide. Her desire in her sleep was so desperate that it led her to wake and continue calling his name in consciousness. She was too sore to sit as she was for too long, but she strained herself as she looked around to get her bearings. There was a fire infront of her, warming her considerably from her cold sweat. She tensed a little more as she saw the stranger nearby. He must've been the one who built the fire, so she relaxed slightly, reclining against the boulder again with an exasperated sigh.

Bad dreams troubling you, miss? My name is Gordon.
*hears the scream of a red-tailed hawk, holds out his arm and the one circling overhead comes and lands on his hand. gives him a bit of dried meat from a pouch at his belt*

*strokes the hawk's neck feathers*

She blinked, looking at Gordon and his hawk with alert blue eyes.
"Aeife," she stated her name, drawing her cloak tightly around her. She was still only wearing her cloak and with this man being a stranger, though he appeared kind, she was careful not to reveal anything. Looks could be decieving...
She didn't mention anything about her dream. It wasn't something for him to know, and she didn't feel like talking about it. Something about it told her that he was beyond her reach... He was gone and she would probably never see him again. He was gone... He left her, and now she was alone.

"A protector?" she watched as the hawk took wing, her eyes slowly lowering to look at Gordon again, "I've never heard of anyone protecting the shard holders, if that is what you do..."
Aiefe tried to sit up, but her muscles were still too sore. So she leaned back against the brown stone again, watching the flames dance before her.

woah...take it easy Aeife...
My family has been trying to keep the forest safe for a while now, but since the shards have scattered, abhorritions have appeared in the woods trying to seek out the elementals. as a hunter and ranger, it's one of my duties to kill them off, using whatever means necessary. that snake used to have legs, and a shell even. I think it was seeking you out, but it could have been coincident. *shrugs* it's dead now, at any rate. there should be nine of them left though... *looks over to where he left the snake's carcass* between a wyvern ad a bugbear, I'm thnkful that one wasn't poisonous...

Aeife looked out into the trees, suddenly feeling wary of things that moved.
"I never knew that... I knew that demons wanted us dead, but I never thought that creatures like that would. I didn't know things like those ever existed in the first place."

they didn't, until the crystal shattered. I don't think any of them would bother us tonight...they know I'm after them. rest, Aeife, Kel will be back soon with food. probably rabbits, maybe a hare.

Aeife relaxed and rested her head on the boulder. This Gordon guy seemed nice enough, so there wasn't any reason to worry. At least that's what she thought. She reached up and touched the shard in her forehead with her index finger.
"The crystal seems to be the cause of most evil," she mumbled to herself, "how could it ever have been good...?"

*smiles a bit* the crystal is indifferent. it's the people using the crystal who make the evil. or the good.
*hears kel's screech and holds his arms out to catch the fat pheasnt he dropped and watches him weel around and lands on the boulder with what he could have sworn to be a smirk on his face. his eyes lights up*
Nice work Kel! say Aeife, I'm going to take a quick trip to the lake to get some reeds or something to roast this on, maybe find my backpack... I'll be back soon, okay? Kell'l be around
