The next issue is out...it's got a couple of rather amusing scenes, 'specially for any Andrew fans out there, and the Drac/Xander stuff mildly references the one issue of Tales of the Vampires I ever managed to read. (<---- is a happy little continuity whore)

I also read #6 of Angel: After the Fall, which was nice, because it actually starts to explain what the heck is goin' on in that whacked-out series.

Sweet, this kinda sucks for me though we only have the issue from last month where I am sweatdrop . I want to read Tales of the Vampires a lot and the little slayer novel thingies where they each have a short story, I keep hearing about this one Lucy girl and I wanna know what's so great about her.

I really want to get the Angel comics but they aren't in any of the normal book stores so I gotta go to a comic store to buy them crying . It's a somewhat strange yet intriguing place...

A:AtF is an...interesting series. After a few issues of characters behaving in what feel to me like decidedly out-of-character ways, it seems to finally be hitting its stride. More expensive than Season 8 for an overall lower-quality product, but, if you're like me, you'll manage to eke some enjoyment out of a cute little rhyming story involving Lorne and the continuation of the Angel/Spike rivalry. If'n you're wanting to get ahold of it without venturing into the dank reaches of a comic shop (which is probably not as scary as all that, I'm sure its denizens can at least pretend to tolerate you while you're giving them money... xp ), I strongly recommend ebay or some other online store.

I didn't read many of the earlier Buffy comics, but now I'm wishing I had, also. If I had more $$$, I'd just buy 'em up whenever I came across them, but as it stands, I've gotta be a little more choosy.

Yeah I kinda noticed from the spoilers I read that it has lots of weird twists. I'm not scared of comic stores cause I think the one in my town is kinda nice. The price of Angel comics is more than Buffy Season 8 eek . That sucks! Buffy's almost $4 a comic. I'd feel a little ripped off if I didn't take comfort in the fact that for Angel I might just wait for the paperback release. Speaking of which comic line has Angel, cause I read in the letter columns of Buffy that Angel is in another one that's not Darkhorse.

Oh and also I just wanted to say I got my aunt who partially got me into Buffy into the comics. It was kinda weird telling her why Dawn's a giant, I just said "... eek Oh, uh something about a thricewhise... mrgreen "
<_<
>_>

I couldn't bring myself to tell her about Dawn's promiscuity (atleast not without smirking immaturely or blushing rofl ). Thank God she didn't ask about who's kiss woke Buffy up, cause then I'd be the one to tell her that Buffy banged Satsu... which makes me wonder how she'll take that news cause she's cool when they do same sex couples, but she is a BIG Angel/Buffy fan (which I don't get at all, I like Spuffy! We kinda avoid that topic... lol ) so I just hope she doesn't get all flabbergasted or something. Hey I used flabbergasted in a sentence! Cool! Sorry I'm in a wacky mood...

Next issue's out. Giant Dawn kicks a** cutely, Drac continues to be hilarious, and the Japanese shapeshifter vamps are bru-tal. There was an argument scene with Buff and Satsu that, to me, felt almost totally extraneous, but the rest was decent. Felt a lot shorter than the last couple comics, tho.

Anyone else been keeping up?

I'm pretty good at keeping up I need the newest issue, from what you said I can't wait. I hope Oz comes along at some point.

So, the "Wolves at the Gates" arc seems to be over. Mecha Dawn: funny, but totally ridiculous. I know every writer, and every fan, too, has favorite characters, but Andrew is so much Drew Goddard's little pet it annoys me at times. I mean, it's still funny stuff, and an interesting character, but...I dunno.

Xander still can't seem to catch a freaking break. Poor dude. So strong in the face of everything he's been through.

And, Fray's supposed to feature in the next storyline, so that oughta be interesting.

In the letters section, it was mentioned that a character or characters previously on Buffy, then on Angel, would be making an appearance in the comic. I wonder who that would be? Spike or Angel would be too obvious. Wesley would make for an interesting twist, especially if he had some sort of confrontation with Giles. Unfortunately, he seems too tied to the plotline in the Angel comic series. Cordelia's pretty well out of the picture. Harmony? I thought vamp Harmony was a pretty hilarious and cute character, but I'm not sure how well she'd help advance story. Any one else have a speculation?

well, let's see who there's been. you mentioned wesley, angel, spike, cordelia, and harmony. faith was in buffy and angel. willow was in buffy and angel (sort of). um....wow, i can't think of anyone else. i think you covered all the bases. andrew was in angel for an episode.
i just wish that they made gwen a bigger character. she was SO awesome! i love her and the episode that she was in. i haven't read any of the angel series, so i don't know what part she has in that (though I've heard that she does have a part).

Yeah, Gwen was in two episodes of Angel (sooo gorgeous, and such a fun character), and now she's one of the "freedom fighters" working alongside Connor and Nina to protect people from the demons. She still has that crazy resistor suit outfit, so does that mean the little chip/implant thing she stole doesn't work anymore? I do not know.

Out of all of those characters, I guess I would hope for Harmony or Wesley. Like I've said, an epic ex-watcher showdown would be, well, epic, and Harmony might lighten the mood a little bit, because her dialogue is always so fun. Spike and Angel, as much as I would love one or both of them to return to Buffy, really need to work through their own problems right now.

Read the latest Buffy and Angel comix. Whedon's back on the write staff, which I think shows through pretty plainly. Buffy actually manages to remind me why she can sometimes be a cute and fun character instead of a lifeless caricature. Also, Dawn is no longer giant, and is now a half-horse. Crazy. I never read the Fray comics, but apparently she's going to be a major player in this next arc; it's not really a spoiler, as it's on the cover. My friend tells me Fray comes from a future without magic, so I'm interested to see what impact Buffy & friends, and the scythe, have on all this. Warren and Amy are still up to their old villainous tricks, though perhaps this one is a bit more dire; on a side note, does anyone else think it's funny that Warren has no skin, hair, or clothes, but wears a labcoat in this issue? I liked it; I thought it somehow managed to make him look even crazier.

The Angel comic is a little hard to follow. Some characters from Spike: Asylum have made an appearance, and I was happy to recognize them and be "in the know" for a few minutes, but it made me wonder if I was missing out on any other inside jokes from comics I haven't gotten around to reading yet. There's supposed to be a Spike: After the Fall comic series starting up soon, but I'm not sure exactly when.
