Raven_Darkholme I'm thinking about the other half of the guild's purpose. Their current name is FATE:Federation for the Advancement of Topic Expansion. Fate...I've heard of Fate...Chromie wasn't very fond of it, if I recall. Something about being very elitist. Anyways, I'm back. With Gren in, we've got enough. Who should we send it to?

Nathan_Summers Raven_Darkholme I'm thinking about the other half of the guild's purpose. Their current name is FATE:Federation for the Advancement of Topic Expansion. Intriguing. Too bad the majority of AMC fail at debate. Spider_Jerusalem Apparently they were first called Purge which is what the official name of the guild still is, and that was dedicated to the kind of thing you expect from the Comic Book Mafia, or Kyle/Streamjumper/Hitokage, yet they were met with less than a stellar reaction from the non members and much accusations and flaming ensued. This caused infighting and an eventual identity crisis to the point that they can't get their s**t together. It seems that the vocal portion of the guild wants to go back to that in a more moderate way than the first iteration but they seem hesitant to do so fearing a repeat. They basically found me randomly and very few of them patronize AMC at all, so they don't know how we do it. Anyone feel like helping me teach them how it's done right?

I'm a bit confused what they're trying to do though, since I don't go into the FF forums.

I don't see that as a whole lot what I thought our guild was going to be. I thought we would be a reference for allowing others to discuss rather than post inanely. Regardless, though, I think that if they're asking for help as to how to positively facilitate discussion, we might be able to help.

Well our emphasis is like you said on versus thread reference material, but my thoughts have always been to also act as custodians in a sense. We all have experience in pointing to stickies, shooing people away from trolls, and reporting inappropriate behavior through the proper channels. This is what they need to learn from what I gather. How to be beneficial.

How to be beneficial. Yeah, that's what I thought too, plus just some general chatting, like we do everywhere.. I think we can help them with that. One thing that we in SDRP (School for Dedicated Role-Players) do is set up little practice things and classes. Now, given, RPing and trying to keep some order are different, but the general principle might help. For example, we find some actual bad posts and see how they'd respond, and work from there.
