(( xd I'm going to say that when I'm around my friends in school next time I see them now.))
Chase had had his breakfast in the dining room at the huge table by himself. James stood by him the entire time making sure that he didn't need anything else. Chase felt irritated with James watching him like a hawk. Once Chase had finished James was immediatly reminding him that his deadline was soon. Grudgingly, Chase walked up the stairs to his room to work on the blueprints.

((I should hope so! They take bathing themselves for granted. xp ))
Kaoru stepped out of the shower grabbing a towel and drying himself. He sighed with relief, glad to have been able to bathe himself; the idea that Gretchen would resume her role tomorrow was far from his mind. Once he was sure that he was dry, he wrapped his towel around himself and attacked the clothes on his bed, pulling them on with a vengeance.
"Ah... I'd never have thought showering was so fulfilling before now." Kaoru chuckled, adjusting the loose fitting clohin he'd been given.

Chase sat at his desk like he had been the day before putting the finishing lines on the blue prints. He looked at the finished papers with disgust. It was plans for a machine that's only purpose was to kill. He was designing things to take peoples lives. It made him feel disgusting and monsterous. All he hoped was that there would never come a point when such machines were used. So far, his blue prints served as a cure for a bunch of leaders' paranoia. After a while though, a war would break out. He only hoped he wouldn't be alive to see it happen.
Tucking the papers into a file to send to his clients, he pulled out a blank peice of paper and began to draw. He wasn't creating plans though. Usually Chase loved to draw but not when he worked. Every once in a while it was nice to create something with his hands that would not lead to someone's death. He sat and sketched not really paying attention to what he was drawing.
((Well I sure am thankful that I'm in charge of bathing myself now.))

Kaoru wasn't sure if it was a good idea to ask Chase once he arrived at the door. He'd probably think he was a nuisance, and send him off to go retrieve them himself. It wasn't that he was incapable of doing so; he knew his way around this area like he knew his own name. He was terrified, particularly of his former master. Gathering his nerve, he knocked on the door quietly, opening it just enough to see his master drawing something.
"Um... Chase? I was wondering if you could take me to get some of my stuff from my last master? I left my contact lenses and I don't think he'll give them back if I go alone." Kaoru asked, before quirking an eyebrow at Chase, "are you doodling?"

Chase immediatly took the paper and crumbled it tossing it into a garbage can. He didn't want Kaoru to see for different reasons. One being that he wasn't very open with that side of him yet, the other being that he didn't want to him to see what he was drawing. His composure was lost only for a second before he looked at Kaoru with an annoyed look. "No, I wasn't." he said simply. "What is it?" he asked trying to change the subject and move on.

"Well, I just said it, but I'll repeat it." Kaoru said, eyes on the garbage can, "I was hoping you'd join me to get my stuff back from my last master, because I don't think he'll return them if I go alone." He rubbed his arm nervously, ears pressed flat against his head. Even his tail, which normally stood up high, was down between his legs. Normally, he'd have gone by himself, but it was obvious that he needed someone else there. Someone to help protect him.

Chase thought about it for a moment. James would have his hide but Chase did meet his deadline like he said he would. "Alright. Where does your old master live?" he asked standing up.

"Not too far from here; his house is hard to miss." Kaoru laughed awkwardly, "it's on the way to the manor from here, closer to your house." He rubbed the back of his head, feeling embarrassed somehow. Yes, he was humoring Gretchen, and yes, he was going to get his stuff back. Somehow, he still had enough pride to feel... embarrassed that he needed his master's help.

He nodded his head and walked out of the room waiting for him to follow. At least this might get Kaoru's mind completely off the drawings he tossed away, at least long enough for him to discard of them properly when he got back. "Do you ride horses?" he asked.

Don't say no, don't say no, don't say no. Kaoru thought, have a little dignity! "No." He mumbled, poking his index fingers together as he walked. Gah! You're a hopeless liar, you know that? His brain mentally scolded him, causing him to look over sheepishly at Chase.
"Could I ride with you?" Kaoru asked quietly, feeling as if he'd shrunk right in front of his master. He had a feeling he'd have to learn how to ride very quickly; his master didn't seem to like the hug he'd allegedly received that morning very much.

Chase felt a little frusterated. There was no way getting out of that. The limo was a waste of gas and the old carriage's axel was broken. Looking at him for a moment with a cold stare he sighed. "Fine." he said walking down the stairs. He scanned the area for James. If he was spotted he would definetly be stopped from leaving the house and just send another servant with Kaoru if not send him by himself. Sure he could ask one of the servants and save himself the trouble but it seemed with Kaoru's reactions that he was not looking forward to a visit with his old master. If the ex-master were to give any trouble a servant would not be able to handle it. He had to go himself.

((My last post of the night, sadly... post here tomorrow! ^__^))
"Thank you very much, Chase." Kaoru smiled crookedly, trying not to make eye contact. It felt about as awkward as a three-legged horse. Taking your new master and then having to meet your old master... it sounded like a cheesy romance novel plot. And, as much as he hated admitting it, he enjoyed reading the cheesy romance novels. Comparing his life to one made him blush lightly, but he hid that with his hair.

((Alright, night.))
Chase was too busy keeping an eye out for James. He walked out the front door and started down the path. Some servants saw him leave but they were loyal to him not James. He walked a ways till they came to a stable. An old man brushing a horse watched them approach with wide eyes. He removed his hat and walked towards them. "Master Chase, you're not busy working today?" the old man asked. "Sadly this visit is only a need of transportation, not for pleasure, Conner." Chase said. The old man now known as Conner shook his head a bit. "It saddens me to not see you riding out here. I'll get Beethoven for you from the stables." he said walking into the front. Chase followed after him looking around a bit at the stables. The place had changed a lot since he had last come. His eyes fell on an empty horse stable and he looked at it for a long time. It was where his sister's horse used to be kept.

Kaoru looked around the stable as he stood there, following his master's gaze. It seemed like this was one of those things he would have liked to keep private, so he didn't ask about it. He noticed that his master wore a sad expression when he looked at the spot; he felt sympathy pangs of sadness and looked away from Chase. Sighing, he sat down on the ground, waiting for Conner to return.

Conner was soon to return with a tall white horse with grey specks on it's back and a green saddle. The horse winied a little and shook it's mane. Chase turned and looked at the horse not smiling but his expression seemed to soften a little. He walked over and pet the horse's nose. "Hey, Beethoven..." he said in a quiet voice. "He's been waiting for you to come back. You should see him during the day, hasn't eaten a carrot since you stopped coming around." Conner said patting the horse's neck. Conner looked at Kaoru for a moment. "Oh, I'm sorry Master Chase, I did not see that you brought someone along. I will fetch another horse immediatly." Conner said apologetically. "No, Kaoru doesn't know how to ride. He will ride with me on Beethoven." Chase said sticking his foot in the stirrup and getting onto the horse.
