kageling lil_ninja_58 Purple string, eh?
Fascinating! I'm wearing a purple string bracelet right now, actually. Although this is because my group at a camping trip wanted to have something for each member to keep, and it just so happened that we had purple and pink string, I find it amusing that I could pull it off as a gay trend as well!
I also love how purple seems to be the 'lesbian' colour, and my name is Violet. Hahaha that's hella perfect. I'd say that's more than a coincidence--the world must be trying to tell you something. :]
Nice to see you back around here again, Ninja. ^__^ smile Hehe, it sure is. And I hope I'm tetting the world that its message has been well received.
biggrin Good to be back, Kageling.

Whispyfox I've been wearing one since I saw this post a week ago, and while nobody has said anything about it, I really like the possibility that someday someone might. Thanks for telling everyone here about it, and I hope more people learn about it. That's something I find charming about it. I know a lot of my friends here would pick up on it, though. And yeah--I'm thinking that maybe, someday the right person will see the girl (or guy) of their dreams and know from the bracelet that it just might be okay to approach. ;] I bet it'll happen to at least a few people.

I think the failing of symbols like these is that some people wear purple bracelets, some people wear string bracelets, and some people wear purple string bracelets without it meaning anything.
As I try to remember where my board is for making string bracelets... (I learned how to make them the cheating way, with a cardboard "loom" of sorts, easier to keep it from tangling that way)
I can be a pessimist at times, but I totally support anything that makes figuring this out a little easier. biggrin
It looks like a lot of people in this guild support it, I add my hopes to those hoping it catches on in a wider scale. 3nodding

It also does make it a little easier to tell, or at least makes it less harrying when you're worrying about whether someone'll freak out if you hit on them.
It's not only in the guild, though, it's going around other places. I do have friends who wear these. =O Besides, the more we talk about it, the more it'll spread. Gotta keep it under the radar though, or we might all accidentally out ourselves. ;]

That's such an adorable idea. I would get a purple string and find a string that would indicate that im also straight(which would be what color?), tie them together, and be like, "Bisexual and AVAILABLE!"

That's a clever idea. I do hope it can spread. It'd be nice to have a surefire way to tell the difference between who I can and should not hit on. I wish this endeavor luck. -wanders off to find some purple string-

I shall mention it if I ever join another girlxgirl oriented place on the webs and if I ever meet a lesbian or real bisexual girl in real life. (I say 'real' because I think we are all aware of the 'boys think girls kissing girls is hottt!1!' type "bisexual"...) Even if it gets out to the straights we can still be like "I like purple and I am wearing this bracelet even if it means girls hitting on me. Grrr!" And keep on wearing around people we aren't out to anyway. ; ) Which will only not work if you hate purple and the person you are lying to knows you hate purple 0.o, but who hates purple anyway.
