there's an ice age that freezes the earth over for a 100 years. usagi uses the power of the crystal to revive everyone after that. it was explained vaguely in the show

I never really bought into that as believeable... I mean really.. how did USAGI survive? She screamed bloody murder about the North Pole, she'd never let the entire Earth be that way for a millenia.... sweatdrop

I believe the lenght of time in the ice age (1000years) Was due to how long it took for Sailor Moon's crystal to arrive on earth from the Galaxy Couldron.

Anyway, I've read the manga on the net, (without pics) and I was wondering...after the Galaxy couldron spirts out all the Sailor Crystals, does Chibi-Usa's get reborn to Usagi where she origianally came from (Chibi-Usa as seen in the series) or does it go to another time farther in the future? If it just gets born to Usagi as it was originally, then isn't the couldron just the end of Chibi-Usa? Or in a loop effect, where she experiences the same life over and over and doesn't go on? Lousy fourth dimention, that's why I never bother incorperating such nonsense in my own work...

I think Chibiusa just returned home to her own time. After all, none of the other senshi inside the Cauldron died, or even had to be reborn - they all went to the periods in time where they belonged.

it's a mystery! but like someone said, there is a mysterious patron that's never identified that pays for their rent at least, not sure about helicopters, though... then again, being famous a musician/artist and racer does pay a lot, one would think. that's probably how they can afford everything. the real question is how do people like mamo~chan and mako~chan afford living? hmm? i've seen some pretty interesting commentary on the two somewhere in the archives of genvid.com. 3nodding pretty intriguining.

i read a discussion about this somewhere, though unfortunately, i can't remember where. there's a lot of interesting aspects of this because usagi also wears crosses in several covers/artbook pictures, and then there's the whole thing of rei being shinto but attending a catholic girls' school. the explaination i read is that it's something of a culture reversal. eastern culture thinks crosses are interesting things, but don't wear them necesarily for the religious aspects, kind of how western culture treats things like yin~yags. i try to see if i can remember where i read that. i wouldn't be surprised if it was from genvid, though.
