Shelden yelped as the water whip struck him, teeth gritting at the blade smash that followed. He struggled to his feet, his breathing shivering as he did. He summoned up his fire aura again, a sly grin crossing his face as he looked at the water bender.

“What? You mean to tell me YOU”RE worried about freezing to death? With your heart already an ice cube?” He asked, his hands clapping together and forming a burst of heat. Between them hovered a fire ball, the flames surrounding it flickering every which way.

“Why don’t you suck it up? YOU started this whole mess after all!” He replied, hurling the fireball at Sora followed by a rapid stream of more, the flame balls seeming to grow in size as the flew, once being about tennis balll sized to the size of an over-filled basketball.

Striking the ground the flame spheres melted into the ice, a spin and drag kick encasing th emage's feet to his knee caps, a wave whip of water meeting every ball, as the moon's light seemed to feed the water bender's power to almost no end, spinning the whip he soon added a ring about the boy's arms and abdomen, drag kicking a second layer of ice before add a third layer as he slide towards the mage.

"Actually, all I did was remove the damned door, your the one who started this small fry, you and that hot mouth of yours."

He gave a small grin, before patting the kid on the head.

"You put up a good fight squirt, but as long as that moon shines in the night sky, fire will never reign over water. "

He murmured, the ice bursting apart once more, water flowing into his pack as he headed towards the inn. A ring of water about him, encase the mage still wanted a go about.

Shelden collapsed onto the ground, huffing and puffing from the ice encasement. He was really starting to hate that. He stared out at the sky, up towards the moon, a frown crossing his face.

"As long as the moon shines, eh? Well what if it..." He mumbled to himself, giving a quick glance over shoulder at Sora as he headed for the inn. He still had sometime. After all Magdalena had said she wouldn't let him in unless Shelden came too. He might manage it. He looked to his side, swiftly yanking open his robes and whipping out the thick tome he carried. He was almost grinning with the thought.

"What would you do if it disappeared?" He yelled after Sora, flipping through the pages of the book as he searched for just the right spell. He skimmed over one particular page, an eyebrow rising as he gave a slight nod. Shelden set the book down in front of him, looking over the spell and reciting it in his mind a bit before proceeding. He glanced back over his shoulder, looking at Sora curiously before staring back at the book.

He began to mutter the words out loud, the writings on the pages seeming to glow an eerie purple as he spoke, his own eyes glimmering a similar shade as the words streamed out.

Sora only chuckled still heading for the inn, speaking though he didn't look back.

"The Moon is a balance keeper, only those who know nothing of this world would dare such a thing, it would be like blocking out the sun, this world would end and become a frozen land of nothing....not even water can live with out sunlight...."

He murmured the last part, before glancing back and shrugging.

"Try as you will, the moon light gives my power strength but it does not stop it, if needed I could still douse your flame."

"Blah, blah, blah. That's all I'm really hearing from you, you know?" Shelden responded, glancing back over his shoulder before looking at the book again. The words and symbols were glowing bright enough now, long sparks shooting up and out.

"Oh I assure you, to become a mage you need to know 'balance'," he replied with a slight grin, standing up and looking at the back of Sora. "And when you learn that balance, you learn a few other things as well. Like how much fun it might be to destroy said balances," he scratched the side of his head. "After all, this world is all about chaos ain't it?"

As he finished his sentence the energy from the book seemed to flare up, a strong beam shooting forth and up into the sky directly at the oh so precious moon. The beam seemed to fade as it escaped eyesight, though seconds later an explosion seemed to burst from the moon. Shelden cocked his head slightly, having looked up from when the first spurt occurred.

"Hm... now what's going to happen when all that energy gets released?" He questioned, looking back down at the book which was still pulsating and preparing another launch.

"I don’t really care anymore about your powers or strength anymore really..." He spoke. "But you seem so intent on making yourself seem like a wounded, suffering hero, that I've decided to see just how much you'll fight back..." He glanced around.

"If that spell continues on as it does, the moon won't exist anymore. And as you said, the whole entire world will be destroyed and then... well I dunno what's after that, but it certainly can't be good." Another beam shot up, stronger than the first one a repeating the seeming damage to the moon.

"That's okay. I can make myself a fire."

Sora was fast, no longer bending but a solid rightt hook to the mage's face. His bangs covered by his eyes as he twisted his hand water wrapping about it once, ice snarring it as he forced a second punch, the ice could easily cut through any clothe at it's current tempreture and sharpness.

"You Idiot!"

He growled as his now revealed eyes met the mages, his own an ice blue, his teeth bearing as he growled, the water he controled seeming to rage as it came from every direction now, smashing into the mage's book and body.

In a flurry of water and frost, the mages body would slowly become cacooned into solid ice, Sora's stance rather frightening as he continued his attack on the mage.

"Who the hell are you to judge?! The only thing I want out of this world is a good life! If you wanna ******** that up, then Hell yes I'll kick your a** for that reason!"

Shelden's eyes shrank from the force of the blow, his spine seeming to scream in his brain a warning that it would snap if it happened again. Dizzy from the first blow, he gasped at the second attack, feeling a rush of cool air as the collar area of robes was ripped.

He blinked slightly, catching sight of the water benders eyes, a slight chill running down his spine before a reassuring warmth took over. His teeth gritted as the water struck from all over, his body writhing from the impact but managing to keep him up. The waves that struck the book were repelled, a glossy purple aura surrounding it. It was protection for the book, specially designed to come forth when ever certain spells, such as the one that continued to go on, were implemented.

Shelden caught sight of it and managed a grin, looking back at Sora and staring at him as though he were some sort of drunk.

"I think I asked you the same question. Funny how questions just turn around and show up again, huh?" He said, laughing a bit before it altered into a violent cough, the ice now beginning to encase him making it slightly harder to breath.

"You can do what you want! There won't be enough peace for a good life for a long time my friend!" He yelled, the grin staying across his face despite the blows he was receiving. Around him he'd managed a feint version of his fire aura, enough to keep his body from chilling and going out on him there and now. He couldn't attack right then, the strains that might be placed on him to much of a risk along with what he was already concentrating on and the giddiness building in his chest.

Magdalena decided enough was enough. After Shelden had put an attack on the moon, she decided to have her intervention. Suddenly, five forms launched from the inn, eyes glowing and angry at the two fighters. Two wolves tackled down Shelden, while two more tackled Sora. A third stole Shelden's book, dragging it off as the four drug the two boys into the inn.

Two set Sora on his back in the manager's quarters, while the Shelden was placed in the living room. As the boys placed, the two tigers for each turned into one large Night Tiger; a seven foot long midnight blue tiger with a three and a half foot long tail, black stripes, and white specks, with deep, eerie and powerful green eyes, and a powerful build. Her fangs reached down to her chin, matching a saber tooth tiger's, but sharper. They each weighed 200 pounds, and decided to lay on the boys to pin them to the ground. Magdalena was careful not to crush them, however, and only laid her upper half on each of them.

The tiger on Sora flexed her black claws, placing her large paws on his chest as she laid lazily on him. -are you done?- she asked, her voice able to be heard by anyone standing close enough.

-did you have your fun?- The tiger on Shelden asked. Magdalena had made it so the two boys couldn't see one another, nor hear unless shouting was made. The wolf with Shelden's book put it on the couch, standing guard as it watched Shelden. Magdalena felt she covered everything, except one or two things, possibly. She didn't care, she just wanted to calm the boys down.

Sora's eyes only narrowed before he growled, a glance about before, he struggled to move.

"Get off me you fat pile of fur! All I wanted to do was get some damn sleep!"

He growled at the feline before continuing to struggle, his eyes flashing a dangerous blue, his body still wet from the battle outside, a weapon he could use if needed.

Shelden blinked and frowned, complaining a bit as he was drug into the in by the wolves, though not really minding it. He didn't want to walk right then anyways.

He 'oofed' as the tiger rested on him, blinking and looking at her with mildly hazy eyes. A silly grin came across his face as she spoke, his vision reverting to the ceiling.

"Yah I did actually. He's dumb... really dumb." He scoffed, trying to laugh but producing a cough instead. Once he'd stopped he cleared his throat, looking around the room curiously and spotting the wolf on the couch with his book.

"Can I have that back? Please? It's all I have you know..." He replied, the silly grin returning as he looked back to the tiger. "But he really is dumb though. I knew he'd get worked up over that...so simple, so easy. Well executed in my opinion." He said, moving his arms to under his head and gritting his teeth at the biting pain.

Magdalena folded her ears back irritantly. She made a growl herself, a warning one, and an aggrivated one. She was already upset with this one, the water bender, for being so rude and destructive. She wasn't much happier with Shelden, either. With the light insult, Magdalena tuffed up her fur, outstretched her claws more, so that they touched Sora's body, and flashed angry eyes into his. With a lightning swift, angry movement and a deep-throated and angry roar, Magdalena jolted her head at Sora.

Her jaws were wide open as if to devoure him. She stopped suddenly...her sharp teeth rested on Sora's forehead and chin, as her saber fangs graced his cheeks. She let it be a warning, trying to get him to settle down. Perhaps the vision of a Tiger's throat and the feeling of her hot breath would make him pay attention, she thought. After all, she could have just devoured his face. Her claws jolted out slightly and cut some of Sora's clothing, as her claws tapped his flesh. -you settle down or i will eat you- she said to him. A drop of drool fell from her tongue to Sora's cheek, and Magdalena didn't care at all. Her teeth scraped Sora's forehead and chin as she slowly backed away, the saber fangs scraping his cheeks. She growled, staring into Sora's eyes. Her fangs were still visible to Sora's wild eyes, plainly warning him. -if i let you up, you will go straight to bed and cause this house no more troubles.- she ordered.

Sora's eyes only seemed to dialate before the cat was sent flying off of him, his wet clothes now dry as he whipped the drool and blood from his cheek.

"That's all I wanted in the first place, and next time fur ball, look before you leap."

He growled, slamming the door on his way to his rented room, with a small sigh he leaned against the door, sighing as he held his face in his hands and began to shake, pulling his knees to his chest, he let out a soft whimper, something that sounded much like a prayer.

"I should have never left..."

He whispered, as he looked through his window at the clear moon sky and the beautiful moon.

"I'll have to get stronger...if I want to find a cure...I'll have to get better..."

He murmured as he sat there, agains his door, sniffling every once in awhile at his own weakness.

Magdalena's wolf form looked at the book, then back at Shelden. It made no notion that it was going to return the book to him any time soon. She shook her head at Shelden slowly, not taking her feline eyes off of him.

-are you injured badly?- she asked him. She was happy that Shelden was cooperating with her.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 5:22 pm

Before Sora had so rudely flung Magdalena off of him, her claws had still been scraping his chest. When he made his move, she instinctively clutched him, digging her claws deep into his chest and ripping it when she was finally forced off. She left six long, deep grooves in his chest, his blood dripping off of her claws and in a trail behind him.

-stupid stubborn boy, he'll not live another year like this.- she said to herself, her thrown tiger form dissapearing.

A small sad smile forming upon his bloody and cracking lips, he laughed slowly moving his hand in a circle like fashion, the water from his back, stung on his burns and wounds from the filthy cat that'd pinned him. A faint glow as the wounded slowly healed, he hiccuped as his entire supply of water was gone now. A great amount needed for such a power, he only sighed, his blood drying to his clothes he was barely able to lift himself up before falling unto his bed, a faint snorring echoing his dried throat as he began to drift into a deep sleep.
