((I guess I'm not supposed to post in two places at once, but I can be a ninja like that? lololol))

He notices her reaction and his pulse jumps a little at the knowledge he'd gotten to her even for a second. "I don't think it's unlikely considering I still haven't gotten what I was wishing for in the first place?" He felt a nagging need to let her tend to her slowly cooling meal but he was too stubborn to let go of his foothold.

"So what could happen?" he urges, wanting her to make the next move.

Minding her desire to be seperated, he doesn't make another move toward her, but keeps his hands in his pockets for now. "Well you never mentioned it bothering you before...would it be unfair for me to say I assumed you were brushing me off and that I'm just too persistant for my own good?" One more push couldn't hurt he thinks as he adds, "Maybe I did it to try and make you jealous?"

Shaking his head a little, he laughs and runs a hand through his hair sheepishly. "Of course it's your place to say...if I said I'd be forcing the situation."

Laughing, he leans towards her a little, hands still in his pockets. "So it *did* work then?" He dares to put an arm around her and lays his head on her shoulder. "What else can this poor soul do for your attentions, 'o fair one?" He was his old self to an extent but he wasn't just spouting lovesick nonsense this time. He looks up at her tenatively and lifts his head to whisper to her behind his free hand, "Maybe I was nursing some wounded pride? If I couldn't have you at least I could pretend to pursue other outlets?" He leans back and grins saying much louder, "Only don't tell anyone, I throw myself on your tender mercies."

Thinking it over for a second he give his most honest answer of, "Well the ends justify the means? Though if you were upset my hope would be that you'd do something to make me quit?" He knew she wasn't the type to just walk away from a problem she could be in control of.

"...and maybe you might be jealous if you wanted me to ask you on a date, secretly of course." Knowing she wouldn't admit that didn't stop him from saying it. He'd have to get things back on track. "So how about it? No more games, just a simple request. Next port, we ought to ditch everyone else for something a little more private." He jerks a thumb over his shoulder to emphasize the point about leaving. With any luck Luffy wouldn't steer them into an island wasteland anytime soon.

He doesn't reply at first. Her plain acceptance startles him to dumbness since his expectation was for quite the opposite. "Well then...that's settled!" He repliess just as plainly. Wondering mildly what to do now, he glances at the neglected food and laughs a little. "Well if it wasn't cold before, I bet it is now...I should go make you a new plate." He doesn't take the food immediately though, he wasn't sure if making a quick retreat would be the wise thing to do just yet.

"I never said I wanted to leave!" He honestly felt at a loss for once. His mind scrambles around for a good answer but can't really find one; so he sighs instead, rubbing his forehead. "Well to be completely truthful, I would like to stay very much, but I'm worried that this zephyr of good fortune night run out. Sounds kinda crazy, doesn't it?" With a grin he looks around for something to sit on, finding nothing but the chair she was next to, he decides to take up a seat on the floor; his back against a wall. "Ah well, you're stuck with me now, so you'll just have to put up with me."

((I have an attitude often apparently, so I know what you mean when it seems like it wasn't such a big deal.))

Getting up slowly, he sits straddling the chair and folds his arms over the top of the chair's back. "I'm sure it's not dirty, but if it is, I'll make sure it's clean even if I'm the one cleaning." He grins and rests his chin on his arm. "Put up indeed. I might get so comfy I won't want to go back out there."

(oh? Which one?)

"Boldness is what got me this far in life." Smiling slyly, he points at her with one finger teasingly. "Then I get to have you forever and the game is won?" He liked the idea of that but wasn't sure how she'd respond. It was like a game of 'king of the mountain' trying to see who'd outpush who.
