Uni entered the marketplace slowly, coming from a deserted alleyway. He walked silently through the streets, not caring where he was going or what would happen to him. His dull, lifeless eyes stared at the ground, not taking in anything they saw.

Meris slipped quietly besides him, watching as the unicorn dragged his feet. He observed him for a moment quietly before speaking out loud. "You look pathetic." Raccoon boy stated bluntly. "You look like you lost your best friend."

Uni didn't even acknowlage Meris when he approached, he merely kept on his way to no where. His dull eyes looked down to Meris only after the small racoon spoke to him. "I have no friends. The one I had pushed me away like an unwanted, dangerous toy." His eyes shifted their gaze after he spoke and they once again stared at the ground ahead of himself. "This supposed friend thought he was saving me, yet all he was doing was shutting off the little part of me that could ever open."

Meris frowned at him. "If he thought he was trying to save you, then it can't be that he didn't want you. Quite the opposite, he wanted you but he realized that he couldn't have you without hurting you, so he choose you safety over his desire to be near you. Are you certian you accepted every part of him, before you start saying that you was shutting you off?"

Uni turned to him now with a deep glare. "I don't care if I was going to be hurt! Can't you see that!? I'm used to pain Meris, i've had it my entire life. But Meris. The pain you caused me was not physical at all and it hurt more than anything." As he finnished speaking, there were withheld tears in his eyes. He looked away and started to try and walk faster through the crowds of people.

"You might not of, but I do! Who was scolding me for taking pain on myself? Huh Uni?!" He said keeping right on his tail. "You wanted you death on my conscience? Did you want me to have to see you beaten even worse than you already were? Did you think that that didn't rip out my heart?" Meris shouted at the Unicorn getting even angrier, "You say all that stuff...yet I can forgive you for putting a hole in my chest, but you can't forgive me for wanting not to see you hurt... But you can't even look at something I'm going to turn into whether you like it or not without screaming! I CAN'T STOP AGING! NOT UNLESS I DIE! .. SO ... JUST FORGET IT!" HE sniffed and stopped chasing Uni.
"There is no way to make you happy. I really was wrong. Now there is no more gang.. " He muttered looking down his now branded hand.

"I can handle pain! Those kids would not be able to kill me as it takes a ******** lot for me to die! And you know what Meris-" He paused for a moment, trying not to let himself cry. "It's not my goddamned fault my father was an abusive b*****d that sold me to ***** for most of my life!! That's why I scream and struggle!" As he finnished speaking, he sat down abrutnly. He felt so weak. He curled his arms around his legs and cried.

"I can't help that!" Meris whimpered, "I'm not them! I'M NOT THEM!" He shouted wiping the hot hurt angry tears away from his cheeks as he struggled to make them stop, and failed. "..It hurts.. you hate me cause of something other people did to you. AND IT HURTS!" Meris's head hurt, his ten year old self was conflicting with his older self.

"I know your not them.. I know." His voice was quite and could hardly be heard through his sobbing. "And.. You know I don't hate you Meris.. I don't want to hurt you." He than looked up to Meris, his eyes were wet and glistening, though full of sadness. "I want to be around you and not get scared.. and not hurt you."

"You don't act like you don't hate me." Meris sniffed and buried his face in his tail trying to hide his tears. "You always seem mad at me, and the screaming, and the impaling me on your horn, .. I thought you just wanted me to go away." He whimpred, suddenly feeling smaller and more powerless than he could ever imagine.

He looked back down and hid his face in his arms after Meris spoke. "I don't hate you.. Your the only friend I've ever had.." His crying had almost stopped by now, merely because he was running out of tears to shed. He was rocking lightly back and forth as he sat on the ground with his arms around his legs. "I-I'm sorry I hurt you.. I never meant to."

"Then... we're both stupid." He sniffed and giggled a little bit. Still to upset and worried not to just huggle him. The little raccoon boy wiped his nose with his tail, and he said, "I'm not that hurt."

Uni looked to Meris now as a small smile came apon his face. "I guess.. we are." He sniffled a bit as he wiped the drying tears off his face. "At least.. your not too hurt..." He than hugged Meris lightly before realizing that there were quite a bit of poeple watching them.

Meris hugged him back tightly and then also realized there were a lot of people staring at them. He blushed and quickly let go of Uni, "We should go.. " He stated blantly, his face on fire. "I know a place we can go for a bit." Mumbling, he grabbed Uni's hand and started to lead him away from the crowd.
