I hope one of the waiters comes over here soon or that someone else comes. It seems sort of empty.

Good day! I am Tea, and I am new also.
Literally: Good day! Am I Tea, and also am I new.
(Please note that this is my first and a very recently started conlang, so don't knife me if I change some things over time. : P This is just a... prototype)

Name: Djuca (quail - this would NOT be a proper Nydek name, maybe a nickname to poke fun at someone) Conlang: Nydek, some really new conlang I'm liking a lot. It's SOV, dependent-marking with three genders and seven cases... Believe it or not, I don't think it's like Latin at all really... Sex: Female Description: Almost 5' tall, nervous and jumpy. All these weird people are scary. Djuca makes jerky movements and stays out of the center of the room, and plays harmonica annoyingly often and loudly while eating carrots and reading Dostoyevsky novels по-русский. (??) Nationality: Ižavšt (from smallish, average postclassical nation-state Ižav, which has serious identity issues concerning its fall from importance as a huge trading power back in its glory days)
Djucaj pamenhi nÿedanx ótweki ra-raki desli, "Nóó nÿedank..."-id tysli. "Tenul fja hysu erealpa še?" Nÿebas pa mats pa bižlirn ta, kjotil jadsli ra xriudé hosÿaki kajali.
Quail looked nervously around at the walls and at everyone and said, "Hey guys". "It's been rather quiet in here, no?" Seeing no one else and no food, she sat down in a corner and sang mournfully through a harmonica.

Right... Good day! How are things going here now? Our greatest port, it was overrun by the barbarians and they're occupying it; otherwise, I might have stayed a bit. My poor grandmother hasn't eaten in days.

My grandmother's okay now, just still really angry. We're all quite angry, so I'd prefer not to stay at home right now... It's rather tense... Cool, there are people here! Hello! But I'm not really sure what to say... Shangrolu, where are you from?
