User Image
Reko gave a brief wave backwards as he continued walking away. eventually returning to the place he was going to stay at. one thing he found he didnt like about being out of "the Sanctuary" was the temperature, more often than most it was hotter than his liking, but that was where his training from his mother came in. with a slight hand motion the room temperature dropped and cooled off to his liking. as he started getting ready to rest for the day he payed no attention to the fact that the air change wasnt just in his room but all thought out the inn, and would most likely not be what the other guest wanted.

Renos stormed into the room he had purchased and slammed the door behind him, tossing the sword at the wall in anger. The blade flew in a straight line and would have embedded itself in the wall, skewering whoever was on the other side had the sword not vanish into black smoke right before it hit the wall. He plucked out the old book and jumped onto the bed, not caring when it slammed against the wall. He studied the book. All the stones were back in their slots, but he remembered Pryde taking all but the center out and placing them into the pedestal to get that damn gun. How did Graed get a hold of the book, let alone the stones? Last he figured, the book had fallen into the hands of Jager. He shivered as he remembered the mental contract he had made when he overdosed on wraithblood to try to finish Pryde off. I guess I have to thank Damn Sin for shooting me with the gun by mistake, or else I would have become another wraith under Damn Wraith's rule.
He glanced at the stones again. There was something strange with them, but he couldn't quite place his thumb on it. There were no cracks or markings on them, no sign that they had ever been removed from the book, no sign of being tampered with by Jager. At most, the only thing that he could tell was different with them was that their colors were deeper, save for the center stone. He undid the lock and opened the book. He almost dropped it immediately. The worn, faded pages of letters in the Ancient text were replaced by paper as black as death that looked brand new. Gone were the words Vladimir had written, gone were Rathe's notes! Instead, the pages were covered with white letters as pure as fresh snow, written in what was obviously the Ancient tongue, but in no words or patterns that he knew!
You just had to get yourself killed, didn't you Damn Pup? No one else can read the Ancient words, and they aren't changing into readable text like Vladimir's other book. Damn Parasite might be able to read some of this, but he's with Damn Brat, if that damn Reko hasn't gotten rid of it that is...
He wrapped his fingers around the pendant at his neck. "Kiru, you would tell me that I could find a way to read this, wouldn't you..." Renos mumbled. "But what am I supposed to do now? I'm in a land I don't know, I have no way of getting information like I used to, and I know nothing about where to go from here. I don't even know if Damn Brat is even here, let alone alive..."
He leaned back and looked at the ceiling helplessly and sighed.
"Just what the hell happened...?"
Unnoticed by him, the stone in the center of the book began to emit a faint, fading glow.

[i'm making assumptions again. about the book and the glowing stone this time. fair warning]

Louve looked at Victor and shrugged at his question. "Well you probably won't be getting into any trouble with Graed locked up for the night, I guess I'll just take a look around," she told him. A short gasp escaped her and she suddenly looked off to the side as if searching for something but shook it off quickly and returned her attention forward as if nothing had happened. -It's silly...but I swear I felt him just then, more so than usual...I suppose I'm probably just imagining things....- she thought shaking her head clear and looking at Victor with a slightly forced smile. "Hey I'm hungry, I'm gonna go see about getting some dinner or lunch or.....what ever meal it's closest too right now." With that and a short nod she headed into the city.

Victor sighed. "Somewhow I doubt he'll stay out of trouble." He didn't fail to notice how Louve suddenly acted, but decided to keep that to himself for now.

"Then good luck," Louve called in response to Victor's comment without turning around. She lifted her hand in a backwards gesture of see ya later before she was totally out of sight. "Now let's see. I've got some money, I wonder if they'll take it here, it seems a bit old fashion..." she mused to herself under her breath as she walked in search of some place to eat. "Wonder if they even know what a dollar is..." She shrugged and walked into a place that looked as good as any, hands in her jeans pockets she stood just inside the door, careful not to block it, and looked around. -Maybe I should've stayed with Victor....- she thought with a sigh.

User ImageHeh, keep thinking you've got me, Graed thought, content that he had already swiped the knight's keys and, using a bit of a charm he learned from Rathe, made a perfect copy, leaving the originals back with the woman. Victor may have cut him off from using his abilities, but that didn't stop him from using his pocket space. All he had to do was wait for the right time.

Victor followed Louve, who seemed a little out of place, not all that unusual for one in a new land, and placed a hand on her shoulder, moving a pouch full of gold, silver, and bronze coins into her pocket. "This land is cut off from the rest of the world by the vast ocean we crossed, and as such, is both less advanced and more advanced than back in Labrynthia, for while they didn't advance in technology, their skills in the more.... arcane and mundane is far greater than even Jager was, and I don't think I need to remind you just how powerful that man was. Think of this land as a glimpse into the time when Rafe was young, before he was ever bitten. Here they still have kings and queens that are more than just figureheads, though when we get back to our homeland, I would be much appreciative if you didn't tell Alexandra I refered to her as a figurehead," he chuckled. "Further more, this land is home to beings not encountered anywhere on Labryntia. Here, there are actual demons that roam, elves, and probably half a dozen other creatures. I wouldn't be surprised if we were to find another being like that Aarec wolf here. But one thing to keep in mind, while here, it would be wise to blend in, which is why I have procured as many of these coins as I could prior to the journey here, they don't have currency like back home."

Louve nearly jumped out of her skin feeling Victor's hand on her shoulder (she had been a bit distracted) but managed to keep her actual reaction to a small startled squeak. She listened to what he had to say, it was generally a good idea to listen to what Victor had to say, could save your life. She laughed too at the figurehead comment and gave a half nod to say she would indeed keep it to herself. When he mentioned blending in she half sighed but let him finish before she said why. "I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt, I'm pretty sure I already don't blend in," she pointed out, having noted that even the woman who was a knight wore a dress not pants and she hadn't seen any girls or women wearing pants besides herself, it seemed just a little weird. "But thank you. Maybe I shouldn't wander off on my own just yet...I'm still starving though so why don't we both get something to eat?" she suggested almost sheepishly.

[hey it'd be nice to have a breakdown of what's worth what that we can all agree on. ya know like a gold coin is worth how many silver is worth how many bronze?]

"Some food sounds like an excellent idea," Victor replied. "And afterwards, we'll see about finding you an attire more suiting to this land." Victor chuckled and led the young one inside a local tavern by the shoulder. The bartender eyed them as they approached.
"And what can I get for you, strangers?" the man asked.
"A sample of your finest ale and a slice of whatever meat you would let two strangers passing through have and," Victor paused and looked at Louve, placing a finger contemplatively on his chin, "a small glass of any whiskey you may have, not too strong though, for my companion."
The barkeep's eyebrows raised slightly at the man's order but, upon seeing the bag the man held up, shrugged and readied the order.
Victor smiled and sat at one of the stools at the counter and pulled out six gold coins, more than enough to cover the meal and drinks, and motioned for Louve to sit with him.
[15 silver to a gold coin, 5 bronze to a silver coin, and (I forgot to put these in) 20 copper coins to a bronze coin. One thing to keep in mind is that this is only the currency in human areas, for other places there will be different forms of payment, but we'll come to that when we get there.]

Louve Elof

Louve huffed and stuffed her hands into her jeans pockets, walking with Victor into the tavern. She didn't particularly want to go back to wearing dresses, you couldn't fight in them, all they did was get in the way. Ah well, it seemed it couldn't be helped. She watched the exchange between the bartender and Victor in silence, rolling her eyes at his mention of not making the whiskey to strong, as if she couldn't hold her liquor, then again by its very definition her drink was already stronger than his, but still. Back to the point though. Louve sat down taking the stool next to Victor and looked at the coins he'd placed on the table, then around the place a bit. She saw no menus, not even a board with general choices written on it. How did people know what to order? And how did Victor know how much to pay? With a mental sigh she returned her attention forward, it seemed she'd be depending on Victor for a while until she could get a hang of what was what. She wanted to ask him how the currency worked around there but decided to wait until they weren't so close to so many people who would undoubtedly assume she was insane upon overhearing her question, despite her attire. So instead she traced lines on the counter with her finger and waited in silence.

Victor glanced at Louve who seemed to have something on her mind. He slid her drink over to her when the order came and dug into the food on one of the plates set before them. "Copper for your thoughts?"

User ImageGraed waited until the guards had left for a break before slipping free of the cuffs Victor had put on him and put his hand into the pocket space, feeling around for the key. It pressed against his hand almost as soon as he had placed his hand inside and he grinned as he plucked it out, reaching through the bars of the cell and slid it into the lock. The door swung open easily. He could have just used his strength to break free, but he prefered the silent approach, better safe than sorry. Graed made his way to one of the windows and climbed through, swinging up onto the roof and grinned. No one would ruin his record if he had something to say about it.

Solo opened his eyes and sat up in the bed, deciding that he'd had enough of this inn, and crept out of the room, looking around. The last thing he needed was that girl spotting him. He started to silently tread down the corridor when he glanced into one of the rooms and saw the man from earlier, staring at a book. It was unlike anything Solo had ever seen, and, while the man turned away from the book and stared at the ceiling, Solo was able to see the stones in the cover glow and darken, as if in tune with a heartbeat. Interesting...

Azima

User Image

"It's pretty isn't it Mr. Solo?" Azima asked quietly, a bright smile on her face, standing behind the cranky prince, right behind him, speaking directly into his ear behind him. A moment ago when Solo had glanced into the halls there had been no one there, since then there had been no footsteps, no smell of burnt air or pop as from a transportation spell, nothing to announce the arrival of another person. Yet there she stood, blatantly invading his personal space and speaking quietly to him about the book they could both see in the thief-catcher's room as if it were all perfectly normal. A true oddity was she, a real wonder that Solo seemed to be the only one in the town to get at all annoyed with her.

Louve Elof

Louve blinked coming out of her thoughts as food was placed before her and Victor asked her a question. She looked at him strangely for a moment then seemed to realize something then shrugged and dove into her plate of food. -Ok so copper is the smallest thing, like a penny but probably less useless, does anyone actually say that though?- Her mind wandered, wondering about this or that. She wasn't the most focused person ever. She took a sip of her whiskey and ate some more in silence. Her thoughts eventually found their way to the next task at hand, finding some clothes that fit in, she really hoped she wouldn't have to wear some bulky monstrosity with six hundred layers and no flexibility. Something small and simple like her old dress would probably be ok as long as she could still wear pants under it. If she wore pants under the dress she wouldn't have to worry about flashing everyone if she did have to fight, which in all likelihood she would.

Amari

its a dream, its not real.....

User Image
Amari sat in the guard's quarters she had handed the thief to the guards and that had finished her shift for the day, she remoed her heay knights armor and sat it next to her sighing in relief.sure it was heavy but after many months of wearing it she had learned to get over the extra weight, and even felt much lighter when removing it. as she removed the last piece a different feeling came over her, she became extremely light headed then feinted.

Amari knew what was happeneing as she saw that thief from earlier, he was back with the people from earlier, this time she was with then. why am i following them? she managed to ask herself while watching the vision. theres a bit of a flash then she sees herself doubled over uncontious, a second later, a dark demonic creature stands over her screeching, snatching her up then running off with her. just when Amari was trying to figure out where this would happen she was back with her mother. "its simple Amari.... your powers have awakened."

Amari shot up from where she was lying, slamming her head into the commander of the guard's head. both reeling over in pain.
