i've seen the movie at the cinema when i went to HK....I was there for the first opening day! i just had enough time to go as i was due to leave HK on a plane back home.
IT WAS BRILLIANT!!!!
didn't really stick close to the manga but I greatly enjoyed it nevertheless.
i have so much more to add but too lazy today...all i can say is WATCH IT WATCH IT! and i can't wait for the next film.

A highly true possibility that this movie may show in theatres here in the U.S.
And as for an American remake, I doubt they'd do an Americanized version of the movie so soon after the first two movies had been released recently.

I'd hate to think of what they'd do when making an American version of this/these movie/s. Chances are they wouldnt take into consideration the manga; and then on top of that; make small adjustments as well which will ultimately change everything.
Plus I'd HATE to know who would be cast as L, Raito and Misa. ;__;
