Sam Elena
The Old World's scarier than a Dragon in breeding season....

Sam shushed him quickly, glancing from side to side to see if anyone had heard. after doing so, she realized it would've been smarter to have ignored him, or pretended to not know what he was talking about... but she'd had a long day, she was conscious of the fact she was wet, and she hadnt yet found one thing she was looking for.
"How did you know?!" she hissed out between clenched teeth. "Hell, most of the magic teachers dont yet!" She obviously was doing something wrong, but he didnt have to blurt it out...

Los Lobos
Lycanthrope

Lobos smirked as she shushed him, at least he had her attention now. "Being a lycanthrope has it's advantages." He said as he tapped his nose. "I can smell most of the vampires lycans, and demons alike, also don't worry most people around us are too busy doing their own thing to hear a whisper." He could've gone about it a more... Discreet manner but he really didn't want to stay in the rain any longer than he had to. He was already reeking of wet dog and he knew he would have to wash his clothes when he got the chance which pissed him off because these were his favorite jeans, one of the few that were baggy enough for him to transform his legs. He quickly survaied the area and noticed a book store to their immediate left. "Lets duck inside here, at least we'll be able to dry off and wait out the rain." He 'suggested' as he grabbed hold of her arm and lead her through the crowd of people.

As she was dragged into a somewhat drier area, Sam decided that she couldnt wait until clubs started- she'd have a reason to carry around a practice blade.
"People are born with legs so that they can walk for themselves." If all of the magic beings in the school were like him, she wanted to go home.

(Masato, Gilly, and Ayame come in from the Downtown Apartments)

The Yggrasil Oktoberfest. It came just at the turn of the autumn season and at the last day of Yggdrasil's promo period. Their best food was on sale at a discount price outside in the colorful red and gold pavilions set up around the base of the World Tree and there were students and teachers sitting down, chatting, and laughing with each other on the outdoor seats in front of the restaurant itself. Candles and lanterns lit the place up with an almost ethereal glow and the atmosphere was both loud and festive, yet soothing in a subtle way, as if the World Tree's influence bled off and found its way into the streets and all the people in it.

Numerous lanterns, radiating soft golden light also decked the World Tree itself, hanging and nestled within its branches and canopy, giving the massive tree an indescribable glow as the lights played gently among the flame-colored leaves up to its highest branches. The tree's aura was also palpable to Masato that night, who as an animal, had become much more keen to such things than most people. But even people seemed to feel it around there, though they remained oblivious to it. The smell of freshly baked pastries, meat, and other things both humans and foxes would find delectable also washed into his nostrils, causing his fur to bristle with delight as he trotted over to the edge of the festival area while his tail swished in the air happily, as if beckoning eagerly for Gilly and Ayame to come.

Despite having the cool, and cloudy overcast, the night was surprisingly pleasant, for such a gloomy looking day earlier. As if night provided a splendid transition from lifeless studying to vibrant festivities, the glow of people's faces, and the light chatter of the shopping district floated in the air. Yggdrasil was a booming cavern of bright humans, favorable aromas in the air. Beyond it, was the World Tree, still rustling off droplets of water from its gigantic limbs. The glittering lights of the rest of the shopping district lay in the distance, the shouts of terrific bargains of hot pot ingredients like napa resonated in the distance.

"I hope this time you'll have more vegetables, Masa-kun." Gilly scolded, reminding Masato that as much as Gilly liked less-than healthy foods herself, Masato still needed vegetables and a good diet, especially since he'd been stealing lunches for quite some time now. Turning to Ayame, Gilly gave the woman a smile. "Did Masa-kun eat this badly before? Or has he just been slacking lately?"

"He's never been picky about food. His philosophy regarding it seems to be 'if it tastes good, it has to be good for me,' and as much as I'd like to agree, we all know better. However, it seems like his becoming a fox has only exacerbated it," Ayame smiled back at and responded to Gilly while watching Masato beg for a small hotdog baked into bread roll with cheese in front of a baked goods stand and a the tall and fat Yggdrasil baker toss him one, which he deftly caught in his mouth to the baker's amusement and delight. "See what I mean?" Ayame pointed at Masato as he trotted back towards them with the bread roll in his mouth. She petted Masato as he ate the cheese roll with the sausage inside before lifting him up by his front paws and telling him in a half-joking and playful tone: “Gilly here says you’ve been slacking on your diet,” causing him to stare at her and Gilly confused for a brief second before Ayame continued. “I know you need to put on weight and eat enough protein to put a bushy white coat of fur on before the winter, but you need more vegetables. No more burgers, steak, eggs, chicken, ice cream, or sausages until I say so,” she said while holding him up by one paw and pointing a finger at him.

That caused Masato to whine and stare at her and Gilly pleadingly with his ears drooping before Ayame chuckled and said: “I’m just kidding. You can have all those things, but you need more vegetables in your system, seriously.” She then turned to Gilly and told her: “I know the perfect thing. ‘Blindes Huhn…’ it means ‘blind hen’ in German, but it’s nothing like what its name suggests. It’s a really good casserole with vegetables, apple slices, and bacon mixed in along with seasoning. The Germans have always had a way of mixing fruits, vegetables, and meat together into something that tastes good. I don’t know how they do it, but I won’t question the fact that they do,” Ayame spoke as she led them forward and paid for a couple dishes of the stuff at another stand. It was still hot and steamy from the pot and she tried a bit of the dish she got. “Mmmm…..good. They made it right. Want to try some?” she asked Gilly while handing her the dish and spoon she was holding.

Eri was still holding Kairi's hand as she entered the district. Here shops lined up, waiting to be tried. First one on the left was..... a clothes shop! Eri felt like a little kid again. IT WAS TIME TO GO CLOTHES SHOPPING! She loved shopping for clothes. It was one of her few vices.

"Sure. Thanks." Gilly nodded as she took the plate, and tried some. Chewing it with a thoughtful expression on her face, Gilly nodded approvingly. "Really good...I should find a recipe for this, it would be really good...if I added some...maybe that would taste a little funky..." Gilly mused, muttering to herself, and holding out the dish, to offer it back to Ayame while Gilly was still pondering what other twists she could put in this Blindes Huhn.

Snapping out of her food-mad scientist trance, Gilly returned back to just being Gilly, and pushed her plans to make a Blindes Huhn into the back of her mind. "Did you and Masa-kun eat a lot of different foods...back then?" Gilly motioned with her hands, not quite sure what to call the period when Ayame and Masato weren't involved in this icky mess with their clan. "Young" didn't seem like an appropriate word, as Ayame looked pretty young to Gilly. However, for all Gilly knew, ninjas just naturally looked young. Or the fact she was half-youkai could do something as well. 'I seriously need to study more about this non-mundane stuff...' Gilly thought to herself, regretting her 6-hour long Final Fantasy gaming sessions, that could have been used learning about demons and spells.

Ayame, after picking out a table under one of the pavilions over the street, sat down and answered Gilly while Masato jumped up on the seat between them, swishing his tail and sniffing at the "Blindes Huhn" she had. Ayame set his portion down in front of him and took a spoonful from hers. " 'A lot of different foods' is a bit of an understatement. Everyplace we went, from Japan to parts of Europe, America, and the Magic World, we ate anything and everything that looked new to us or we thought might taste good. The food from Southern Hellas and the Elysian continent is especially noteworthy. Most of the best food and ingredients comes from there or passes through those places, although one particularly interesting thing you can get there is "shiftspice," an orange to red-colored powder from Elysium that tastes like anything you want it to with a 'flick' of your volition or can get almost anything to taste the same way if you mix enough of it into our use it to season other foods. Highly-addictive, but not harmful, which is one reason it fetches such a high price among Elysian traders and even more elsewhere. Masa-kun would know. He got hooked and I had to stop him from spending all our money on plain white bread and shiftspice, which he got to tasting like Kobe-beef hotdogs with Roquefort cheese sealed in a Kaiser bun and herbs," Ayame chuckled as she ate another spoonful of her Blindes Huhn and petted Masato while he was eating.

"I'll give you a book I have in my satchel when we get back to my place. It's a history book on Hellas and the southern regions of the Magic World. They were selling copies at the Library of Kings and I managed to get one before they shipped the rest to the Charon School of Magic further north. The pages look blank to anyone who's not magically-attuned or incapable of using magic, but pictures, symbols, and words quickly form as you turn them if you can. It was made that way to further encourage, or should I say, force magic students to focus while reading. However, your heritage alone should be more than sufficient to let you to read it without any effort or trouble. Masa-kun can tell you how to work the symbols on the edges of the pages as well," Ayame told Gilly kindly as she was halfway done with eating. Masato had all but finished with his dish and he licked his chops before Ayame took the napkin that came with his plate and wiped around his mouth. "Are you not hungry yet, Gilly? There's plenty to eat around here and you can get as much as you want. I'm paying," Ayame smiled as she spoke and ate the last of her Blindes Huhn, missing a spot as she wiped her mouth, only for Masato to put an additional napkin on his paw, stand up on his hind legs, and quickly get it for her.

This was the first time that Kairi had come to the shopping district so she was more than a little excited to go shopping with Eri. Holding her hand firmly, she looked around towards the various shops until she spotted the clothes shop. Pointing to it, she said. "There it is! Let's get some new clothes!" She giggled as she tugged on Eri's arm and started to lead the way towards the shop.

Patting her stomach, Gilly grinned shyly. "Sorry, Ayame-san. Last night's meal was pretty big, and I'm still digesting it. But really, you don't have to pay. If anything, you're more of a guest to Mahora than I am." Gilly pointed out. As much she loved free food, Gilly wasn't keen on eating free from an adult. Ian, bullies, Ian, she'd be fine with that, but Ayame's generosity was too much; Gilly felt as if she was robbing the woman, especially with the amount that Gilly ate, if she had free reign.

"I apologize if this may sound rude, Ayame-san, Masa-kun..." Gilly paused, biting her lip, as if pondering whether or not it was appropriate to ask her question. She shifted a little in her chair, and tapped one finger on the table, a motion she'd always had to relieve pent-up energy or eagerness. In this case, hesitation. "Just how old are you? I mean, you guys have traveled all over the world, you're specialized in combat, you want to get married..." Gilly bluntly said, but her question was rushed, and she blushed slightly. 'I hope it wasn't inappropriate of me to ask that...'
PostPosted: Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:42 pm

"Don't worry about, it Gilly. I don't mind paying for you. You did manage to find and take care of Masa-kun here, and for that, I couldn't thank you enough. I don't mind you asking my age either. Masa-kun and I are both 24. Ninjas get off to an early start. We begin training at the age of five and are sent on our first missions by the age of twelve. We met on the training grounds when we were five and have known each other since. But then there was a four-year gap after he was forced to disappear. It's like we're given an early start and forced into adult roles very early, which is good in a way. A clan at war has no use for 'children' so to speak," she said while scratching behind Masato's neck. She could tell he wanted to speak, but couldn't do so in public. Foxes that could speak along with other magical creatures were not exactly known by the general public to exist. Ayame smiled as Masato rubbed his fur against her palm. "What exactly did you eat that filled you up so much last night?" she then asked Gilly. "Must have been really good and ultra-filling." If Ayame had one weakness, it had to be food and if something could fill someone up like that, she had to find it.

Eri smiled. "Of course." She told, getting dragged into the store. She had no idea what was there. Of course, probably one of them wouldn't like it. Well, the clothes at least. Maybe not the sight....... she thought about going into Victoria's secrets to try on some bras later. For the sight mostly though.....
