Trace smiled, trying to imagine it as she described it. He couldn't. So instead, he thought about Joslyn. He had seen her, in the Forum while he had done his first spell. I wish I could tell her she was more than that, he thought, but he started blushing and chickened out, scratching his blindfold.

The refrain of Check Yes Juliet got somehow stuck into her head. She had her hands behind her head, and put one hand on the rock.

Trace scratched his blindfold again, and sat up. "This rock isn't the most comfortable place to lay down," he commented, and leaned back against another outcropping. "So," he said, and looked around. "What now?"

She sat up too. "Well, it is time for dinner. Wanna grab a quick bite?"

"Alright," he said, and stood up. "How far down is it from this rock?" he asked, nodding towards the edge. "And are there any rocks below it? I feel like diving." He smiled.

"Pretty far, but if we swam, we'd get there quicker." She smiled. "Alright, no rocks. On three, we jump." She held out her hand.

Trace took her hand, and ran for the edge, yelling, "Three!" the fell for a long moment, and he laughed. He had forgotten the rush of free-falling.

She screamed and laughed at the same time while free-falling. They landed in the water with a huge splash.

Trace hit the water hard, and nearly panicked. This was the first time he had been fully underwater since he was 8 years old. Then, it all kicked back in, and he swam to the surface easily, holding Joslyn's hand and pulling her up, swimming much faster than her.

Joslyn came up gasping for air. She noticed he was ahead of her, so she started to swim after him.........

Trace flopped onto the shore, and rolled to the sand, soaking wet and laughing like crazy, spitting up seawater. He lay on his back, and caught his breath.

Joslyn crawled onto the shore, also spitting out salt water. She flopped on her back, laughing slightly.

Trace sat up, and looked at Joslyn. He smiled, and said, "Well, that was fun." He chuckled.

She spit out salt water. "Yeah, a real blast." She couldn't help but laugh. She put her hand on the sand to keep her from falling over.

He leaned over, and kissed her. "Thank you," he said, as he pulled away.
