"I think perhaps you judge yourself to harshly." Kel said softly as she sat, not wanting to draw the others attention. "To have survived on your own in world like this is no easy task, and to have done so proves that you have a strength greater than you realize. And I don't think you're that easy to hate. Despite what you may think, you are not useless, nor is anyone one else completely perfect."

She waved her hand towards the fire. Focusing a little she called a small ball of flame to her hand and it danced around her fingers.

" It is a simple fire, and to you or any other person with magic it may require no real thought to light such a fire, but for me doing this is a small miracle. Not only have I lost my memories, my magic is still half out of control. Just the other day attempting this made my magic go wild and even turn on me. I've about as much control as a child but my magic is far for powerful, potentially making me a danger to me and those around me should I loose control completely. At times my emotions get the better of me. I have skill with swords and a bow, but I'm not unbeatable. Next to someone like Anwyn or Kar'mesi I must seem pretty pathetic and there is little I can do to offer them help. But look again. They may seem claim and sure, yet I can see doubt and sadness hidden under that outwards confidence. They make mistakes, they know regret or fear or despair as well as you or I. I may not be as great a fighter or mage as them, but you don't always need another fighter. Sometimes what you need is someone to have faith in you to give you hope for the future and strength to carry on. Perhaps the time will come when someone who looks at things from a different perspective than a warrior is needed, and perhaps you may be the one to find the answer."

The elf closed her hand around the fire ball and snuffed it out. She smiled faintly.

"You may doubt yourself, but I sense that you have a good heart and strong spirit. You may yet be surprise to discover the strength you have to to help others." She said kindly as she stood. "There is still some time left, and ultimately the choice is yours. Think on it. And if nothing else, learn to have more faith in yourself."

She turned back to the others.

"It's grown dark and you would be ill advised to wander outside of the haven. If any of you need a place to spend the night you are welcome to stay." She offered.

Arabella watched and listened to the girl, and felt like a rock was sitting in the pit of her stomach. After she had finished speaking, Arabella stood up clutching the sketchpad to her chest. "I will be just outside" she murmered softly before slipping out the door to think quietly to herself. "Why are they trying to keep me here, why in the world did I get chosen for this mess" the thought to herself with a groan, for she truely didn't know what to do at this point. She couldn't go back to her home in the woods, she didn't even know how to get back at this point. She sighed heavily, feeling defeated and sulked in the darkness. Warm tears filled her eyes, and for once she was happy that it was pitch black in the small area where she was sitting down. "This just means no one will see me let the tears out that I've been bottling up" she thought to herself as she buried her face into her palms. She truely didn't know what to do, and was hoping that perhaps this was all just a dream. "Maybe if I just pinch myself I'll wake up in the tree I was hours ago" she said as she pinched herself lightly on the arm, only to growl as she looked around and nothing had changed. "So I'm stuck here, with no one that I know" she said looking up at the sky sighing as more tears fell down her pale face. She closed her eyes, and buried her face against her lap at this point to try and think.

Amis smiled shrunk as Arabella bemoaned. It was troubling to hear such an attitude. He didn't know whether it was best to go comfort her or leave her alone so he stay where he was. He finished the scraps and looked from his plate. He was still hungry, but he was grateful for whatever scrap he could get.

He felt the sudden urge of wanting to cuddle with the cats, though he also began to wonder what cat meat would taste like. The thought disgusted and amazed him.

Arabella was tired, and the sobbing she had been doing had only caused her to strain her energy father than it should have. She looked up at the sky, then opened up her sketchpad looking through it thinking it might help calm her. Tears fell onto the pages as she looked through past sketches, and her heart dropped causing her to sob more when she found the one of her parents. She threw the pad against a tree screaming in anger and fustration as she buried her face against her legs and she felt her body shake in rage. Her whole life how now been turned around, and she didn't even have a choice at this point. She knew whatever god saw her, he hated her with a passion and was now screwing with her life as payback. Looking over towards the throw pad she saw the sketch of Amis, and sighed standing up wiping tears off her face as she walked over to it. She picked it up, giving a small smile at her work, and sat under the tree to allow all her emotions out once more before she even tried facing them again.

Anwyn watched Arabella leave and considered following her, but decided to give her some time to try and sort out her thoughts. Anwyn herself didn't really fully know what to make of the situation. Instead she turned to the others.

"If need be there is also room at my home.I'll stay a little longer to help cleanup here once we are done, but when I leave anyone who wishes to come with me may."

After an awkward pause, Amis rubbed each cat and stood up. He went outside to talk to Arabella. Once he saw her, he went to her. He was not the best person to do this kind of thing, but no one else would.

"Listen, you need to smile. Cmon, what's up with you? You can't be so selfish as that. EVERYONE has problems, big or small. You don't see frowns on me," he said, grinning. "Do you?"

"I work with the dead, and you know what," he began, and sat down in front of her.

"They are worse off than any of us. They moan and groan. Not all of them, but most that I come across are lost. They have no path in their unlife. They simply are."

He patted her shoulder and continued, "That is no way to live. If I can smile, you can too," he said, inspiringly.

"Besides, if life were so easy, think how dreadful I would be! I'd have no souls to talk to!"

She was startled by Amis suddenly coming to talk to her, and thought he could scare the living life out of anybody. Tears still streamed her face as she looked towards her scattered sketchpad. "I'm not selfish, I've had my life turned upside-down and can't fix it" she said as she wiped her eyes on her cloak hoping to rid herself of them. She hated looking weak around men, when she was just as strong of some of them. "I can't do tricks or things to help these people out, so what good am I staying here" she said, her tone defeated as she looked up at the sky. "You have your souls to talk to Amis, I have no one anymore" she said in nearly a whisper, her heart breaking. "II don't have family, I don't have friends" she said as she looked back at him, "and I don't know these people." She felt like she could just run, run away and never have to worry about this happening, but yet she couldn't do a single thing but feel out of place once more.

Amis could not take here seriously anymore. He was tempted to summon a skeleton to hold her down. His childlike nature riled at this dark pleasure.

"Listen, woman!"

The necromancer walked up to her and grabbed her wrist, hard. This time his tone was aggressive.
"You're acting foolish. How do you expect do make friends? I'm trying to understand you, really I am, but you need to stop crying and.."

His tone became light-hearten, just like that. He released his grip and stepped back, still facing Arabella.

"Smile! Stop being so darn negative..You moan worse than the Dead, for goodness's sake! One only is alone is one wishes to be. You want friends? Make some? Don't run away from people. By isolating oneself, one only betrays one's very nature."

Amis was a man of extremes.

He turned his eyes ground ward.

"Look at me? What sort of loser am I, who speaks with the Dead over the Living? My career has cost me my civil freedoms. I am forsaken for working with that which all mankind fears."

Dark eyes returned to meet Arabella's gaze.

"And if I can make friends with the departed, you can make friends with the Living. There is nothing wrong with you."
