"All is well," Alandis shrugged. "I have heard worse from patients who do not take too kindly from pain themselves."

Legede smiled slightly, "I can imagine. Especially if you ever treat Sallia for wounds. On that day... I shall pity you." he sighed, looking off to the forest. "But now a choice is laid before me... and I know not which path to take."

"Give it time."
The Healer smiled herself. "From one thing I've learned throughout my life is just to give it time. Time to heal, time to grow and adjust. That's all anyone can really do when it comes to the final solution."

"But I run short on time as it is." Legede replied, "The longer I wait, the closer this world comes to destruction"

"It does not have to be that long," Alandis held up a finger, before she sighed. "My philosophy has worked before, but what do I know? I am but a Healer...But don't lose faith, Legede. All will turn out right in the end."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 31, 2005 8:31 pm

"I hope you are right." he answered, looking back to Alandis. "For I shudder to think what will happen if it turns out ill."

"If at first you don't succeed, try again," the woman gave a smile, bowed again and walked off. "I hope you find the peace and the strength to continue on," she called back, finding other duties to busy herself with.

Legede nodded, "Hannon le. Tell me if you need any aid. I would be glad to do what I can." he said before sitting down once more.
The captain starred out at the spring, lost in his thoughts.

Vala paused, placing a finger to his lip. "Hmmmm... Your FAVORITE! That and I want your honest opinion, his strengths and faults."
.....And he was supposed to be how old again???
He paused for a moment, looking out to the fields. "Oh!!! Yavanna's out to play!!!" He giggled delightfully. "Splendid!! Grandpa, may I go play with Yavanna after you tell me your story???"
The child flashed a big smile at him, purely innocent; he had a semblance of the importance of the Valar, but he didn't think it was a big deal amongst the other elves. He didn't realize how lucky he was, to him, it was as normal playing with Yavanna as it was chasing the black panther-thing around the temple tormenting it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yavanna gave the impression of smiling, a slight curiousity but an elevated, highly spiritual/cerebral aura that...of course, that a Vala would have.
"Oh?" She smoothly stepped forward, tilting her head, one hand lifted to her cheek as the other was crossed. "Tell me, dear Mandos, what else brings you here from that far away home of yours?"
~~~~~~~~~
Sallia nodded her head slowly at Legolas, thinking. "Well then. Let's take a look around, just to be sure...." She tapped her lip thinking. "I'll look for him; Shanra, until I return, you and Legolas please try and direct the meeting. You both know my thoughts better than many others, so you won't get lost. The earth here speaks to me..." She smiled a bit. "I won't have too much of a problem if he's around. Don't worry, meleth nin." She gently held his cheek in her hand, kissing him. "If there's a problem, perhaps I can correct it. As for the meeting, my Oak-leaf*, don't worry about your departure. Things are settled now, that's all that matters. Let us see if we can calm this tempest once more."
She released him from her touch, backing away with a youthful, warm, optimistic smile. "I'll be back! Promise!" She winked, turning around and sprinting off into the forests, listening to the wind and trees' advice.
~~~~~~~~~
Xarik'n meanwhile, gave a grin. "Of course. I kinda have to. Legolia is very important to me. I've known her since I was a child."
As for the horses....
"Well, I COULD kid you and say it was because I was going to eat them... But ugh, it's not sweet enough for me... Or, I could say...."
He paused for a moment, one arm crossed across his torso and holding the elbow of his left arm, which tapped his lip.
His expression suddenly turned to a prankster's smirk as he winked at the elves/man.
"THAT is a SECRET!"
He laughed until he cried, clutching his stomach and floating backwards, sometimes going into slowly spinning backflips.
~~~~~~~~~~

Sallia first came out at the Spring, where she found Alandis, Legede, and Tallison.
While she caught the last of them fighting, she landed neatly, almost like a cat as she leapt from the hill.
"Mmmm, hello you three. Been wondering where you were at, the trees are lovely trackers of sorts." She smiled, but then raised an eyebrow at Legede.
"Wounds? Now why on earth would I, of all people, need to be treated for wounds?" She placed both hands on her hips, tilting her head with a grin. She knew as well as he did how difficult she was.
But then she became serious.
"Okies. Let's clear a few things up. Legede, your friend, and I'm sure you know whom I speak of, is very, very worried about you. I can see that for the most part, you and Talli haven't...been....getting along too well...."
Well that was one way to explain it.
She moved over to Talli, stepping into the spring and pulling out a fan. "Now, Mr. Tallison, I will have you know that I will NOT have ANYMORE of your juvenile provoking, are we clear?!!" Suddenly she started whapping him upside the head with the fan rather violently, scolding him severely. "The entire reason that you can even SPEAK right now is because of my homeland!!! You owe me a favor in return, Talli, or on my honor as a rogue I WILL take you down. Stop causing Legede so many problems, or I shall disgrace your status as a man in front of a full crowd of other elves!!! DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?!!!" She yanked on his ear, keeping a firm grip on it while holding the folded-up fan raised in the air, prepared to hit him again. "Answer me, Tallison!"
Granted, she wasn't usually this violent, but when it caused what it had been....
"We have FAR more important things to worry about you selfish little orc, and your braggadacio and ego are growing FAR too large for toleration." She thrust him against the earthern wall of the spring, glaring daggers, and strangely intimidating. "WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAN YOUR GENITALIA TO BE WORRIED ABOUT, LIKE FOR INSTANCE PERHAPS FIGHTING NUFENIEL--" she slammed him against the wall again, "--AND MELKOR," and again, "AND SAVING MY LITTLE SISTER!" She growled fiercely, pinning him against the side of the spring. "DO YOU HAVE ANY (bleep)ING QUESTIONS?!!!!!"
She glared as if to dare him. While it was evident that she still felt friendship towards the rogue, she had to put him in his place right off the bat if he was going to act this way. It reflected poorly on her to lose control of the tenants when she was training to be the high priestess/guardian of the place; surprisingly, most of the previous priestesses also incorporated their warrior skills into the job. She was just following suit, at least until there was a time of peace.
She glanced to Legede with a little smile. "Same goes for you, Mr. Legede. As for your path, don't ever let wounded pride guide you..." She was suddenly very mild and gentle, soothing and wise and compassionate. "Ai, while your pride may be wounded by how the Valar have treated you, listening to it will only bring trouble, especially to your dear ones. If you cannot follow the Valar, then follow Legolas, or Thranduil. They are your comrades and sovereigns; you have rarely left their side in troubled times, so why should you spoil your record now?"
She dropped Tallison so that he sank into the water, ruffling his hair as she stepped out, taking little notice to her priestess robes being soaked to her mid-hip. "Legede, I haven't known you as long as either Thranduil or my beloved... But I know that within you is someone stout and loyal, someone whose will can still be strong. Take a deep breath, Legede. Those springs may heal your scars and wounds, but only you may heal your mind, heart and soul. " Her eyes were like deep pools of water gazing back at him, calm, serene, and in tune with the sacredness of the land they were on. "Legede, while everyone changes, that does not mean they have to change the good things about themselves." She placed a hand over his heart, and smiled. "By healing yourself, your actions, you will heal your heart, and not only may we bring peace to Middle Earth, but you may bring peace to yourself." She stepped away and giggled a bit, eyes still dreamy and misty, when suddenly she looked back towards the temples and snapped out of it.
"Oh, and hey. Um, yeah, big meeting... You guys kinda have to come to it. Once the sun's sinking below the horizon...so...like... 5 minutes. We're going to formulate a plan to save Legolia, and avenge ourselves and our kin against Melkor and Nufeniel." She grinned and winked mischieviously at all of them, even Tallison; rogue-side apparently. "Don't be late!"
But instead of going back, her gaze rested down in the fields.
"Hey, who's that????" she wandered aloud, suddenly curious. "NEATO! Maybe he'll help us plan too?!!! I gotta tell him about the meeting!"
*****
So off she went, racing at top-speed through the treetops, inhaling the fresh nature scent and moisture that she so adored. She loved running like this; here, she truly felt free, and intoxicated with the liberation of spirit and worries that permeated the place. She was surrounded by nature, and nature spirits, as far as the eye could see; to her, it was utter bliss. She went to skid to a stop as she approached, only to trip over a rock, tumble/somersault 6 times across the ground, and then roll into a stop in front of the two, looking up and blushing. It was a bit awkward.
"Hi! I don't know who you are.... Hello Mother! Ummm... We're going to have a meeting, to discuss how we're going to fight off Nufeniel and Melkor...um... Would you both like to attend??? Oh, how rude of me--- um, I don't know if you know, but this is the Tree Mother! ^_^ She overlooks this place, and we love her very much. How'd you get here???"
Yavanna laughed full-heartedly, warm and appreciative of her young one's hyperness. "Ai, ai, little one.... I know this one well, he is a friend of mine older than even this land."
Sallia blinked a few times. "....Is that possible??? Wow... You don't look bad for an old geezer...." She blinked a few more times is disbelief.
Yavanna broke out laughing again at the child, hysterical. "Ahh, my little one!!!! He is Mandos, a fellow Vala of mine!!!!"
Sallia turned deep red, and laughed nervously. "Um...oops.....Sorry." She offered a big, cheerful if not a bit absent minded smile. "Um, but yes, would you like me to escort you both to the meeting? Sunset is arriving... I kinda need to get there, and your inputs on things would be very helpful."
Yavanna was still chuckling, shaking her head. "Ah, I will attend, child. Mandos, would you like to come along? There's hardly a better way to help our children than this."
~~~~~~~~
Vala was watching the fields, and trying his hardest not to fall off of Thranduil's shoulder from laughing so hard.
Xarik'n was doing similar.
Actually, so were half of the monks and priests.
Yeah, it would have been Sallia to not recognize her shoes, let alone Mandos.
And Shanra meanwhile, thought happy teasing remarks over at her, such as, "You're such a dork. Ditz. How do you not know who it is?!! No-brainer."
Ah. The comedic relief of a hyperactive elf just trying to bring everyone together.
Talli laid there on the edge, chest rising and falling rapidly while his brown eyes were wide.
"By the Valar...She's insane!" he exclaimed, almost looking like he had gone pale. Almost, if his skin wasn't brown.
And he thought Legede was bad...
Alandis stood off to the side, leaning against the tree. She was far enough to avoid Sallia's onslaught but close enough to see the damage she had dealt to the elves. She could even see Talli's smug grin and composure sink into the water. He looked ready to die.
Without thinking, she laughed.
Rana smiled and nodded resting her hands on her knees sitting in silence for a while
"for a moment there I was back in the past, my mother and father still stuck under those burning suport beams and then I felt the fire myself, I was lucky to be pulled out of there alive but the elf whom saved me lost his own life protecting me from marauding Orcs"
She sighed gathering her strength, it was the first time she had spoken of her narrow brush with death, keeping her gaze off to one side she fiddled with her blouse a little
Thranduil blinked, reminding himself to ask Sallia later why this child referred to Yavanna, one of the Valar, with such horrid manners. One of the Valar were not to be adressed so casually.
He shook his head slightly, "Aye, you may. As for a story..." the Elvenking mused over the idea for a moment, finally choosing a tale. "When Legolas was your age, Vala, he did something incredibly stupid. He was convinced that he could fly if he tried. If he made wings and got high enough, he thought he would indeed take to the air. Needless to say, Legolas climbed up onto his balcony, which was a good three floors up in the palace. He jumped from that height, breaking one arm and leg in the process. Legolas learned he could not fly, and when I arrived with the servant who had seen him fall, I had wondered what possessed my son to try such a stunt. He told me that he had been watching the birds, and that he thought, if he minicked them in every way, that he would fly as well. I was surprised however, to find he was no crying from his injuries, though I will admit he did when the Healer set his broken bones. Poor Legolas was in bed for weeks, which made things all the worse because your father is quite the restless spirit. He has to be up and about." Thranduil smiled, glancing to Vala. "I only hope you do not try something so foolish. As for his strengths and weaknesses... you would be better asking him that yourself, young one."
~~~

Mandos smiled slightly at Yavanna's curiosity. "I am here to, not only seal the spring and keep your protected up to date on how long it shall take Aule to forge this jar, but to also speak with the Maia. She has gone and done something quite foolish I fear, something that will... in the end... prove perhaps more diasterous for her. But it is of a matter that I must speak with her alone. A direct order from Manwe."

~~~
When Sallia was gone, Legolas just kind of blinked.
"Oak-leaf?" he whispered in confusion, before shaking his head and turning to Shanra.
"This meeting will decide much." he said with a slight wince, "I only hope what we come up with will in fact work."
In truth, Legolas was feeling the effects, though milder, of the torment being rained down upon his sister. He was doing a fairly good job of hiding it, but the fact remained that it was clouding his judgement... and the prince knew that.
~~~

Caldor sighed, shaking his head in dismay. "Annoying little... Xarik'n! Can you ever be serious?!"

~~~
Sallia had come and gone so quickly that Legede was at a loss. He twitched after she finished her tirade on the rogue, though the captain felt no remorse for the slight beating he had gotten.
Her words however... only served to anger him further.
Sallia did not know what was wrong. She did not understand what Sario had done nor what he had done to himself. The woman thought the source of his pain was the Valar's rejection.
Yes, it played a part... but his chest, his scar, simply burned from his anger at the betrayle of his love.
He shook his head, banishing those thoughts. He would not let his emotional wall down, not with the rogue so near at hand. Besides, Sallia had been right about one thing...
Legolia needed to be saved and Melkor and Nufeniel destroyed.
Without a second thought, though knowing he would likely run into Sario, Legede went to the appointed meeting place.
~~~

Mandos simply smiled at Sallia. "I shall accept your invitation, for I bring good news in this dark time." he said, joining them.

~~~
When Legede arrived at the meeting spot, he nodded curtly to Legolas. By then, Thranduil with Vala on his shoulder, had arrived, as had Elandere. The captain saw Shanra and Xarik'n... one of them at least... but those were the only people currently present.
Legolas caught his friend's eye with a slight glare, hurt that the captain had tried to decieve him.
"I thought you had left." he whispered in a voice only the white haired Elf could hear.
Legede shook his head, "Apparently Mandos is not forgiving of my anger."
"Your anger?"
"I can not discuss it now... Forgive me, mellon nin... Perhaps later."
~~~

Elladan put a hand on Rana's shoulder. "Perhaps... If we found those Orcs..."
"That does not ease the pain, muindor." Elrohir replied from the ground. "We killed the Orcs who nearly destroyed naneth... and it did not ease the pain of her sailing, nor did it ease ada's pain. Killing them only makes one feel more shallow than before."
"And yet you continued to kill all the Orcs who entered near to our home." Elladan replied, "It was you who suggested we join with the Rangers."
The younger twin sighed, "That is because I thought it would make you feel better, muindor. Besides, if we had not done that then Estel might have died when his father was slain. We were there, Elladan and we saved him and his mother."
"So you are saying those Orcs tormented naneth because it was part of a great plan?"
Elrohir shrugged, but that was exactly what he was implying. "Perhaps... Rana... the death of your family will in turn serve a greater purpose than you could ever have imagined." the Rivendell Elf said, "I mean no disrespect, but you might never have found your way to Eden Cuil... and perhaps there is something here that you must do?"

~~~
(((OOC: The idea of Legolas trying to learn to Fly came from a story by Adromir. I love her fanfiction because the way she write Legolas and his elder brother Keldarion, reminds me of Hector and Paris in "Troy". It just this cute brother relationship, but they still have issues every now and then.)))
Sario lifted her head off the ground, her eyes gazing up to the tree above. The leaves were illuminated gently by the fading light of the land. Dusk was coming and they would all meet down by the hills. She had not wanted to go gather the company and figured that Sallia had done so already. It was just up to the Maia to show up and discuss plans.
Slowly getting to her feet, the elf felt weary as she brushed off the leaves that were caught in her dress and hair.
Could she act? She had to push down her emotions in front of the others. She could remain quiet through the meeting, only voicing small opinions but overall doing as she was told.
Walking, she kept her head bowed, still alone. Again the woman stared at the forest floor, watching as her boots kicked away leaves and made a small path for her to tread on.
What would they do exactly? She tried to run any plan through her minds that Sallia might propose, that would work if they could all play their parts instead of going off alone. Well, whatever it was she prayed the Valar would give them all strength.
Coming up to the springs, she found that they were empty. If she looked over to the side more, Sario would have spotted Alandis but her mind was elsewhere and she was still kind of out of it.
It didn't take long for the wizard to come upon the exact place, finding just about everyone there. She kept her gaze steady, staring at the ground and through anyone who happened to be in the way.
Legede took notice of Sario, but he said nothing. A hand on his arm directed the captain's attention to Legolas. The prince had seen the narrowing of his friend's eyes when the Maia had appeared, and determined that Sario was part of the white haired Elf's anger... but why?
The captain shook his head slightly, telling Legolas that he did not want to speak of it.
His friend nodded, and the prince turned to the others.
"This has gone on too long." he stated, looking at those assembled. "Melkor has been a blight on Middle-earth for too many years. There has to be a way to destroy him... her... it. And I shall not rest until I find that way."
Thranduil nodded, "That evil parasite has taken too much of this world. Yet everything we have tried in the past has failed."
"Only because those who have tried were either not strong enough or not knowledgeable enough." Legolas put in. "When Manwe and I were one, I did not understand his power, nor did I use it to it's full potential. Thus, Morgoth was able to break free of our seal. We need a new plan."
"And you shall come up with one." a new voice said.
The assembled looked to the new Elf in their midst.
Mandos.
Legede's eyes narrowed even more, for he was angry with the Valar and wished to have no part in their schemes.
"Lord Mandos." Legolas bowed, as did Thranduil as well, though the latter was careful of Vala on his shoulder.
"As we speak, Aule is forging a jar to contain Morgoth and chain him within the Abyss for all time. I have come here to seal this Healing Spring, to give power to his mighty forge." the Vala spoke.
Thranduil was about to ask why the Vala of the Dwarves would ever lend his aid to the Elves, but then thought better of it. After all, Legolas spoke up once more and the notion to ask simply faded.
"And this will be enough?"
Mandos shook his head, "No. I had hoped to use the combined strength of the Maia and my chosen. But the latter seems to have greatly displeased my peers and thus has been stripped of his power. We will have to hope Sario's strength is enough."
Legede outright glared at the superior being. "Am I the only one to have displeased you?" he asked, barely able to control his anger.
The prince put his hand on the white haired Elf's arm, an attempt to stay his friend's anger, but Mandos spoke first.
"Yes. Though we are not entirely pleased with the conduct of the rogue or the Maia, you... Legede... are the only one whom has outright disobeyed our commands to you." he said, pointing at where the captain's scar was, though it was covered by his tunic.
Legede's hand rested on that spot, but his glare intensified. "What would you have had me do? I was betrayed!"
"You were hurt and took rash actions to rectify that hurt. Manwe has spoken on this matter and it is closed." Mandos finished, his own glare causing Legede to look away. "Now... A small force must take on Nufeniel's fortress, while a larger distracts her armies."
As Mandos spoke however, Legolas' mind was musing over what his friend had done... and what had been done to him... that had caused him to fall so far from the favor of the Valar.
