T O B I K U M A WANNA BE THE BIGGEST DREAMER RUNNING FULL SPEED THROUGH BOTH THE FUTURE AND THE PRESENT You think one would have seen it all after heading out of the farm and going into a small town, but sadly that wasn’t even the case. The young lad was just trying to find that treasure as promised by his new friends, and all of a sudden there was this blinding light that soon engulfed him. It brought him into a state of unconsciousness, and when he came too he was nowhere near the school. “Huh…hmmm…where am I?” the farmer could only question his whereabouts as he started to regain his sense. He looked around, it was a spit spooky, and everything was unfamiliar to him. He looked left to right, front and back, up and down; even horizontally. Trying to analyze everything as best as he could, until he finally came to this conclusion, ” I have no idea where I am!” he said it with a huge smile on his face, as if there was a wonderful thing. To Tobikuma, this was a certain way to start a new adventure, a place where didn’t know and…what was this?! There were people here too! Tobikuma’s smile grew wide and eyes glittered with amazement. There was such a variety of people here, and he just wanted to go say hi to them all and make friends. Wait! Different people, unfamiliar place, Tobikuma knew exactly what was going on now! “Is this a p-p-p-p-party!?” He had a party before, but it was just on his birthday and they were quite subtle. His mother had told him that parties mainly consisted of random strangers in another house or place, dancing around, and having a merry time over nothing. Tobikuma had never been to one of those parties, he could only resist the urge to jump with excitement as he was going to experience something like a party; it was sad that no one would actually tell him that there was not going to be a party. Tobikuma did not comprehend that this was something way out of his league. The maestro of this whole event took the center stage and began to explain why there were here, Tobikuma just looked on and stared like a innocent child listening to a story. It was strange what this guy was saying, he sounded quite serious too, maybe he needed a hug. Despite the dimwitted attitude that Tobikuma had been showing, he as getting the just of what this person was saying. Personally he couldn’t go about eliminating things, he wasn’t that type of guy. Tobikuma loved creating things, “Sorry! he bowed to the man before he would go to leave. He figured that it was the least he could do for declining this offer, after all, Tobikuma’s life was filled with the love of good people, a peaceful place, and boundless treasures to be discovered. If they got rid of that then all the treasures would be destroyed, the plants he gave life to will wither, and more importantly the friends he would meet would not be there. He couldn’t have that.. Yukiko Amagi and Minori Koroko Fire burned in the determined gaze of the onyx haired girl as she gazed at the tower looming over her, moving her way towards the rest of the team gathered. It eased her some, seeing all of them here. It rose her spirits, just knowing that, despite the dangers that were waiting for all of them ahead, they were still all here, not giving up yet...Keeping their bonds together for Soji's sake. They would find him... and they would stop the impostor from luring more people in. Though, as much as she said that, there were so many gathered...so many letting in those venom words, letting them sink in into their heads, infecting... Yukiko gritted her teeth, her body shaking as the Shadow kept talking, taunting Rise with hurtful words...words that hit her with guilt as well. But, she couldn't believe in them. She couldn't falter now, not when the fight hadn't even started yet. And that was why when Rise dashed inside of the tower, the dark haired heiress ran after her, knowing that they couldn't let her go on her own...She didn't have any combat skills, but more important than that...they couldn't leave her alone with...that thing. "Come on! We need to catch up with Rise!" Before she could give another step forward though, a guy blocking their way. Though, that lasted for a second, Teddie stepping forward, and stopping him for a short time for them to keep going. "Thanks Ted! We'll leave it to you!" Yukiko nodded to the bear, a quick, trusting smile sent his way. Minori followed behind, nodding towards Teddie as she passed by him, green gaze locked on the stairs in front of them. There were several shadows ahead, she could feel them, but...they weren't compared to the greater presences she could sense higher up. "There must be some others waiting for us ahead...Let's be careful." the blond warned, before stepping beside Amelia, giving her an apologetic smile and a smalll shrug of her shoulders. "Sorry I couldn't answer the messages yesterday...It was...complicated. I'll explain everything when all of this is over, I promise." the blond continued in a rushed whisper, even if there was a reassuring tone on her voice. There was no way they would end up here; they needed to get Soji back...because if he was anywhere...this place was the most likely to have answers. And they would get them. She was sure. And after they did...she would worry about anything that had happened earlier that day. It wasn't time to wonder, to tangle herself in complicated thoughts. Right now...she would just follow her instincts...her need to go forward and to unmask the one dirtying Soji's name.

Shadow Soji [Tartarus - 33nd Floor Lobby] Though it was so far from the top it could hardly be considered higher than the ground floor by comparison, it must have seemed a fairly steep job that lead the already-weary legs of the orange-haired idol to the floor where she raced through corridors now, using her instinct and abilities to avoid the shadows thus far. It was fortunate that she had this power, but it was hard to ensure that you weren't caught. The shadows were less numerous now than the first time that she had sensed the tower, however...Hetero's attack last time had practically devoured every last shadow in the tower, but they were already repopulating. They were forming from the walls, turning corners that she could only barely avoid all the time, but she had made it this far...to a clearing in the center of the room on what she had counted to be the 33rd Floor of the Tower of Demise. Here there were pillars on either side of the room, three on either side in rows that spanned the length of a massive room not unlike a twisted ballroom with blood puddles on the floor and black ooze dripping from the checkered walls. It was on the far end of this room that the golden-eyed shadow stood taunting her, watching her with that sickening twist of her boyfriend's beloved lips, arms crossed as though it had been waiting for her to arrive. He laughed out loud as she tried to catch her breath, bent over with her hands on her knees in evidence of how hard it was for her to run so far so fast in pursuit. But she was determined...she couldn't give up on this, not yet.
"You should see yourself...you look ridiculous, charging forward like the hero. Do you think if you act like him or throw yourself in front of me he will fall out of the sky like the savior you all made him out to be? What can you all hope to accomplish now without your precious messiah? How can you hope to defeat me...his better half...when the best you can do is scan my body and remember how it used to look when you touched the skin on this hand...brushed the hard lines of my chest. Even now, you see me and you feel love for this form, don't you?" the shadow taunted, the girl feeling every word, every sting inside of her heart and chest...but more than pain she couldn't help but indignant feelings, the anger, hating how awfully this thing tainted the fact that she loved so much, disgraced his memory. Standing back up with her breath struggling to catch, she was on the border of tears and the border of screaming, both. Her hand clenched tightly and her nails dug into the skin of her palms, her lip bit tightly between her teeth as she gathered her words. "The only thing I feel when I look at you is hate! You're not my Senpai! You're just an imitation! An insult! ...And he will come back to us," she argued, her voice finding steel with each word, though each one grew more desperate until finally it broke and she shouted, "Give him back! Give Senpai back!" Her words fell on hollow ears, and no sooner had she lunged forward to run after him than did he turn and disappear into the darkness of the wall, Rise passing by down the hall towards her goal...just as the Investigation Team would reach the clearing, seeing her dart off away from them, the shadow gone with her.
"Oh, don't worry my dear friends, I've left you another playmate to keep you entertained! Say hello to one of my newest Messiahs," the voice of the shadow boomed through the hall, a dark chuckle filling the room, "Havok...play nice." His laughed swelled and in an instant it was gone, the low footsteps of a figure approaching filling the room. Only...there was no shadow before them, no figure in the hall moving towards them. Suddenly, like a realization, the sound's origin could be pinpointed.
...It was coming from the ceiling! And a single look upward would reveal a shirtless figure clad in a gas mask with a long RPG launcher resting upon his shoulder, standing upside down looking down at them. And clinging tightly to his shoulder with its little sheep hooves was none other than Boochie, his tiny little ally. A comical sweatdrop ran down his gas mask as they saw him, realizing that his cover was blown.
"Hi Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii~!" he called out in a loud, child-like voice before...as if in a cartoon, he realized he was on the ceiling!, "AH! Whoa...whoa...WHAAAA!" Suddenly he fell! Flipping, he landed on his back with Boochie miraculously landing on his hooves on the thin, lanky figure's chest. Laying for a moment as though he were dead, he suddenly drew his feet to his chest and then sprung back to his feet, RPG on his one shoulder, Boochie on the other. And an air of sheepish amusement filled him as he used his free hand's fingers to offer a little salute.
"Oops! Heh heh...um..." the masked Messiah laughed uneasily, scratching the back of his head, "...Do overs?" Quote: Shadow Soji Ascends!
Rise has followed the Shadow further into the Tower of Demise! The path forward is now blocked by Havok of the Black Messiahs! Rise is getting further and further away, so the team must continue on to catch her, leaving somebody behind! But who will volunteer for the job? Who will move forward? And can they reach Rise in time before Shadow Soji's plan is complete?
The ascent continues!

'Why must they startle with their dawn alarums...' 'I yearn to dream again a dream of that night' Amagai Genji, the Shining Heir, Havok, and heart Boochie heart So this was...their leader. No, it wasn't the true leader, but he could tell from the face and the power that this person was the one that his friends had told him about. He was tall, dark, and terrible in all the ways the Soji Seta was not supposed to be. His words cut deep and he could practically feel and see with his special eyes the pain that rolled away from the orange-haired girl as he sliced away her defenses with his forked tongue and then pierced her heart, luring her in to follow further into the rabbit hole. "Do not follow!" he tried to cry out, reaching with his gentle fists towards the girl but to no avail, her form disappearing beyond the door now blocked by a hat-wearing boy with a strange style about him, but not one that made him seem inherently evil. Why would one give in to such darkness and serve it so willingly? The very thought was beyond him...but though he longed to ask there was a life at stake, the heart of a pained young woman searching for answers, searching for a lost love. Genji knew that of all people he could relate to her...though if he had noticed the presence of a familiar beautiful face amongst the crowd it would grow only more complicated for him. It was with that thought that he saw Teddie make his move, throwing a spell to steal the attention of the guardian and open the path for them. He wasted no time...joining in the march of his allies up the stairs, they crossed the door and he uttered a word of faith in his new ally, the bear (strange as he was), and continued on. But what he found on the inside was far beyond what he could have imagined...the twisted floors, the endless stairs, the enemies that seemed to lurk around every other corner. They avoided some, and their numbers allowed them to easily overwhelm many at this level, but they were being slowed by the effort. He needed to get through, and so he made sure to fight as little as possible. His hands lit up with power, and he struck a few down with perfectly placed fingers, disabling them and leaving them to be finished by others. He did not stop long enough to see the blows done.
Floors grew into levels, and there was at least one of those behind him by the time he got a view of the former idol he had seen only on television before this night, screaming at the figure of a ghost with golden eyes in a wide-open room before them. Moving forward with practiced ease and an uncanny swiftness he hoped to catch the girl's arm, but her movements were too fast, dashing into the hallway only to be blocked by the sudden feeling, a sense of an unfriendly presence in the room. He skidded to a halt and his eyes flashed suddenly, scanning the room for the enemy...not on the floor or in the shadows, his disbelief suspended as he heard the voice on the ceiling above them. He took a step back as the man called Havok fell...his hands flashing to light, a ready stance taken should that rocket aim in their direction. But the man seemed...strange? How could a person on the side of the enemy feel so disarming? ...He didn't like it. He didn't like a thing about it. Wasting no time, he thrust himself forward and away from the pack. This one was unusual...they couldn't risk it! He couldn't let the others deal with him when even his eyes couldn't tell if those one was human or shadow! His palm feinted high and thrust low, but Havok's launcher butt caught his strike seemingly by accident just before it could hit! The masked man leaped backwards and stumbled nervously, as if burned by the very idea of a strike. "AH! Wah wah! Why are you attacking me so hard?! Don't you know I could really get hurt here?!" the Messiah protested, but he wasn't fooling the cotton-candy haired young man, who had seen through the foolish guise of his movements...they were expect. He had intentionally blocked that attack the whole way.
"Everyone, there's something unusual about him...I can see it with these eyes of mine. ...I think I was meant to fight him," the heir spoke with certainty, smiling faintly over his shoulder to everyone who had come with him this far, encouraging them to go on, "That girl, Rise...she needs you more than I do. Thank you for everything until now, for having the strength to do what's right. ...Do right by her, and by your leader now. Go on!" Turning back to the fight with his final words imparted, the strawberry-haired young man frowned with determination at the strange, almost carefree guardian that stood before him. "You can lower your mask, Havok," the heir told him sternly as the others would gather their strength and move on, inviting him to drop the act...though the masked man only looked here and there, as if totally surprised by the offer, "Huh? I can't take this off! You're just tricking me! Don't think I can be fooled by your tricks!" Havok pointed exaggeratedly and stamped his food like a child, waving the launcher around so animatedly that his sheep hung onto his shoulder for dear life. But it wasn't enough to amuse Shining Genji.
"Your other mask," his voice was low, cajoling, as though he knew something that he shouldn't have. His hands glowed, determination filled him...and he prepared his next series of strikes in an instant, lunging forward. His opponent's response, however, was much more controlled than before. "I don't know what you meaaaan~"
Boochie let out a small 'Baaaaaah' in agreement. And the fight was on. 'when hours are yet required to thaw the ice?' 'the nights go by in lonely wakefulness...'

Naoto Shirogane The Detective Prince of Inaba Yue Adomachi "Unfortunate Junior Brother, Hermit's Philosopher, and Scrappy Protector" Rise! No time to think on it. They had to catch up to Rise, as Yukiko had said. Immediately Naoto took off with the others. Leon stayed behind to fight Kenta, and now Amagai stayed behind to fight off Havok. She nodded to the pink haired boy. "Be careful." She warned before following the investigation team further into the Tower. Nothing good could come from Rise following Shadow Soji in like that, she couldn't let her reach whatever trouble lay ahead that the shadow had planned for her. They were all running into danger they weren't sure about, but it was no reason to stop. There were more answers to be had tonight, as well as another chance for them to stop that dark imposter. Destroy...the ones who turned down the offer? Yue grimaced. He knew a fight would start. This just looked like the perfect place for such a thing, a perfect situation. Guess I'm not gonna go through tomorrow without bandages again. He reached behind him, unhooking what he had hanging from his belt behind him. They were gloves, that he had found one day washed up from the water. Cleaning them off and taking care of them, though, Yue found they were in great shape. He slipped them on, looking around. There were a few who had said yes. Would he have to fight them? He looked as the team of other teenagers disappeared into the tower. just -what- is going on around here.... He frowned. Powers inside of them huh? He just hoped they learned how to use these so called powers soon if they were going to get out of this alive.

Rednal Ak'Thias"Be careful." Rednal said quietly as he moved past Genji, their enemy, and... a sheep. Well, that wasn't the weirdest thing he'd ever seen, but it was probably the most random so far tonight. The fact that a part of him suspected it wouldn't remain that way was a bit worrying, though. Urge to jump out of window and ride missile up... rising... he thought as he moved along with those who were continuing to ascend the tower. They needed to get Rise back with the group, that... Sigh. Rednal shook his head a bit. Well, I guess I understand how she feels, so I can't really blame her, but I wish I wasn't reduced to thinking of my friends mainly in terms of how powerful they are in combat. It wasn't a terribly pleasant sort of thought; made him feel that he didn't really value them enough. Well, he'd just have to do whatever he could. Wasn't that the way the team had always done things? Though, they usually had their leader there to make the most of it. Tch. KisaBack from the main part of the group, a figure followed behind at some distance, eyes narrowed as it carefully worked to skirt the ongoing combats. No sense getting involved with the fights of others, she supposed. But she'd taken a few precautionary measures, and now she simply wanted to find out what, exactly, was going on. What was that figure that was so similar to, but so different from, Soji...? Coming here tonight had been the right choice, but grasping the truth of the thoughts hiding behind her eyes was no easy task. The girl simply moved upwards, carefully, watching the things that occured before her.

Faustus Necromonium and Kusuri KeirakuThe two started into the tower alongside everyone, watching as Teddie, and then Genji were telling them to move on, leaving them behind. Faust had been a bit reluctant, but with Leon helping out, he figured they'd be okay. Genji and the strange one....he wasn't sure..... However, this wasn't the time for doubts. He kept running up, watching as a shadow formed in front of him, aiming to attack. "Move." Faust called, before breaking his card. The Figure of Mythos then appeared, and a large Fist disintegrated the shadow on impact. A worthy end...Kusuri let out a little whistle at Faust's display of power, as another shadow started towards her. However, she didn't break her card, and merely reeled back her Power-Soul Glove, with the two rings on it. "Not bad Faust." she remarked casually, before swinging a fist into the Shadow, watching it fly back down with it's mask shattered. Again, she continued on, following the others as they moved up. They needed to catch Rise.....

𝔑𝔦𝔵 𝔖𝔞𝔩𝔩𝔢𝔫 ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ As badly as Nix wanted to stay and assist Genji she knew she had to keep going. He seemed to understand his opponent much better than she ever would.. Though to hear him speak like he's going to die gave her a small sense of unease. If he felt like that masked man was going to kill him then why did he stay? There was no time to ask.. The girl needed to keep moving so that she wouldn't get left behind.
So Nix decided to follow Faust and Kusuri, it would lower the risk of getting lost and ganged up on. She saw them destroy strange black creatures, possibly the shadows they mentioned before. Before she had this power Nix would've been terrified of them but now she had the power to fight. So she brought out her black blade that she got from Daidara's and cut down a shadow, surprised to see that it perished rather easily under this blade. 'I have to be careful with this blade.. It could really hurt someone' Even so, using the sword instead would save her some energy. She didn't know if Black Messiahs would keep getting in their way or not. All she could do was follow her friends and fellow team members up the tower.

Sawyer the 'Cleaner'? and Karu Raiku "You Foolish people dare to defy the Master!" a small voice was heard over the crowd and commotion that was quickly escalating. The rev of certain power tool echoed through out the lobby of Tartarus. The little one was serious, and armed for this madness that was starting up. Her eyes locked on to this first person she saw her whom she knew didn't agree with The Master's offer. "You're dead you insignificant little human" She rushed at the brown haired boy that had been so quick to turn down the offer made to him by Shadow Souji. He had ten seconds to think and he probably didn't even use one of those to make his choice. She was going to cut him apart, was he trying to be a hero... she hated those types. Heros, Doctors... Gah Everyone! No one had ever tried to help her now she was going to help herself!God he says one word and people are trying to murder him with Chainsaws. "Little?" luckily he had come prepared for this situation. She wasn't the only one that had brought a weapon to this place, he had also come prepared for this sort of thing. When you get a mysterious message no matter how you get it, he always thought it a good idea to be prepared for the worst. He halted the on coming chainsaw attack with one of blades. In most cases the chainsaw's chain would have broken, but apparently the girl's was made for murdering or at least heavier jobs. He didn't exactly have an idea what to do. Just to fight back at live. Living was a good goal to start with.

[Nekama Kobayashi] Nekama knew she'd made the right choice, the feeling resonated deep within her heart, a warm sort of glow that pushed away the white noise in the back of her skull. Her senses came flooding back to her completely and as she stood, slightly apart from the group she could hear others invading the tower. It sounded as if the force that opposed these “Messiahs” had come, and the mute couldn't help the bubbling excitement, tinged with fear she felt. She wanted to help them, she was tired of standing at crossroads and watching life pass her by. The sound of running feet caught her attention and as she began to turn her head her hand was taken. Her frown faded, a smile taking it's place as she recognized who had come to her aid and she was really beginning to think he was her hero. This was the second time he had come to help her, but the third time she'd run into him and each time seemed to elicit a happy sort of feeling. The warmth in her cheeks grew as she nodded her head, her eyes hardening a little with determination, and then they were off. They were racing to the stairs and an uncertain future, but one thing was clear to the mute – she was ready to try, she was ready to face what came her way. she continued to follow him, Nekama trusted Dan, he could protect her and she could fight along side him with her strange gift. As the group of heroes began to pair off to fight off the Messiahs, she nodded their way and issued a silent prayer for their safety and victory – she wanted everyone to come away from this safe, though she did not know them she cared for them. The night is Deafening. When the silenceis listening Always denying the murmur

.:Kenta Matsu:. Kenta sighed, as ther others ran after Shadow Soji as he ascended up the tower, with a small and guilty daze, he watched as Shadow Soji ran off... Argh, he had his hands busy with other things! As the team decided who would be staying behind and ran after Shadow Soji, it was finnally just Teddie and Kenta, the sound of rushed footsteps slowly decreasing to silence as they ran further and further away after Shadow Soji... 'So... you're going to be my opponent?' mused Kenta outloud as there was a villainous glint in his eye. "It's a shame that I'll have to fight something so... adorable. Let's hope you're not as weak as you look." A grin stretched the lips of the trouble maker as he hand went to his pocket, the rest of all of his dangerous explosives kept safely in a thick messenger bag. Kenta pulled out a rather illegal and dangerous firework that would have gotten him arrested the moment a cop set his eye on him. And being the pyromaniac, all of the firework fuses were inverted, so that instead of shooting explosions of light in the air, the fireworks would be exploding on itselves like grenades. "This will be fun."
With his other hand, a tarot card floated above it, then it came to a stop as Kenta crushed it. "Icarus!" Immediantly, a shadow of an angel appeared over Kenta, suddenly, the firework he was holding in his hand went almost... transparent. There was a strange swirling energy around it as Kenta lit it with a lighter, keeping his distance from the wielder of the Bearsona. "Chew on this!" Kenta whipped the Firework at Teddie, and if Teddie was only quick enough, he would be able to dodge the strange violent explosion of wind accompanied by an odd source of light, a wind element firework.

Rednal Ak'ThiasYidhra laughed as a number of Shadows appeared in front of the group, and enormous mouths appeared in her hair as the tendrils shot forward, crashing into several of the Shadows and biting deeply into them before shaking wildly and, with one sickening movement, crunching down on them. Rednal flicked his wrist a moment later, and a gun materialized in it; three bullets shot into the crowd of beasts, igniting like miniature suns as they were supercharged by Rednal's affinity for solar spells. "Get out of my way." Rednal said quietly, and determinedly, and his Persona smiled widely behind him as she stared forward at the juicy targets. It was probably good that Rednal couldn't actually taste what she did, and his Persona wasn't even a little bit shy about tearing into the crowd of enemies for all she was worth. Kisa"..." Kisa looked down at her arm, where a hand-like monster had grabbed onto her. Behind its mask, the Shadow blinked at her. Kisa blinked back, then flexed her arm. The Shadow simply exploded, bits of it flying everywhere as the girl looked up again. Charging at her was a knight-like figure riding a horse, and as it neared her, the girl held her hand out. Her legs bent slightly under the impact, but the Champion Knight was stopped in its tracks, and barely had time to realize what was happening before its weapon was pulled out of its hand and thrust into its chest. The Knight was whipped off of its horse a moment later, and with it still impaled on its own spear, the Demi-Fiend methodically began to play Whack-A-Shadow with the Vengeful Maya that had crept up around her, hammering each one flat with the dying corpse on the end of her weapon. It was only when the last of the crawling monstrosities had been disposed of that she allowed the Knight to vanish, and she tossed the disappearing spear to the side. "...Anyone else?" she asked quietly.

'I yearn to dream again a dream of that night' Amagai Genji, the Shining Heir, Havok, and heart Boochie heart He didn't have time to think about whether or not the others were doing all right without him now; he wasn't conceited enough to think that his presence alone would make that much of a difference, either. Genji hoped that the rest of the Investigation Team would be able to fulfill the mission that they came inside of this wretched tower to accomplish, to save their friend and on the way out pull as many of those who had been touched by the White Light away to freedom from the influence of the Messiahs as possible. He believed that they could do it if they worked together, overcoming their enemies as they had overcome Teros and the Rednal Shade in the streets only a couple nights earlier. He believed...he had to believe in them. And he had no time to give it more thought than that now, pitched in the middle of this heated exchange with an enemy who seemed to be taking combat much less seriously than the situation demanded. And yet, they had been locked in an exchange of blocking and dodging for some time now, each of the pink-haired heir's feints and strikes gliding harmlessly past the head of the mask-wearing man as though he were accidentally slipping each one. Havok seemed to stumble backward and trip to the sides as Genji's well-practiced strikes aimed to hit him in his vital spots to disable him, a wobbly knee which dipped his head below a palm strike to the forehead, a misstep that had him tumbling in a somersault out of the way of a surprise leg-sweep and to a safe distance before being followed with more unsuccessful palm-strikes. He could almost swear that he was hitting him, so close his hands ghosted by his foe's face and body so many times. And yet in the strangest fashion, his foe hadn't even thrown a strike to counter him yet, nor had he truly shouldered his rocket launcher with the intention to fire. Havok seemed content to simply move about and dodge, his calls of surprise and sometimes imminent panic replacing the sounds of fists meeting flesh in destructive clashes. He was growing impatient with his foe, but keeping his cool seemed to be the only way that he had any chance of slowing him down and catching him. Genji took a deep breath as he followed his foe's movements, a feint to the outside drawing an exaggerated flinch from his enemy up high...opening him up from the bottom! Instantly the berry-haired young man dropped into a smooth leg-sweep with the intention to bring his enemy to the ground and then stop him with a palm strike to the chest. But then, as if jumping in a sudden fright, the Messiah 'accidentally' leaped the leg and the follow-up front-kick to his chest he slipped to the side as though his balance was failing. His balance was off now! Genji twisted his body in a circle and drew back his palm, flaring with a brilliant light, his hair trailing behind him as his hips twisted, his torso squared, and he pushed his hand forward with a perfect, debilitating strike to his foe's body lined up before him!
'Whoa-oh-WAHA!" Havok's gas mask eyes seemed to bulge cartoonishly at the sight of the incoming strike, and for a moment he seemed as though he were finished! Genji waited for his palm to feel the force of the blunt trauma against the skin, the shuddering of a sternum beneath the flat of his hand, the transfer of energy and the wavering of the powerful aura that he could see inside of his enemy with the special ability of his eyes. ...Only, that feeling never came, the sound of his strike crashing home never echoed, and before he knew what had happened he felt a loose grip on his wrist and the sudden lurching of his own body stumbling forward, momentum guided by the panicked grip of his opponent which put him off his balance and brought his feet into the raised toe of his enemy's boot. He lost his footing entirely, and before he knew it Genji was tumbling forward to the ground, landing heavily on his left shoulder before rolling back up into a ready crouch turned back around to face his bumbling foe with a hand rubbing at what might well be a separated shoulder after that impact. 'What...was that?' he thought with narrowed eyes, again realizing that there was far more to this enemy than what even he could see when he looked upon him. For all his chaotic movements, the figure across the room from him now that danced from one foot to another, his finger playfully jabbing here and there at his pet sheep Boochie (which nipped at his finger and caused him to yelp in return) was incredibly skilled...turning his own force against him so easily, making it look like an accident but slamming him off-balance. It was a trademark trait of the art of Jeet Kune Do, Aikido, or many of the other arts meant to turn the power of the attacker against them. Had he become too forward and made himself vulnerable in spite of the controlled style of the Gentle Fist? Or was this man simply capable of drawing out every ounce of his foe's power to use against them? Just...what was he? "Who are you?" Genji asked as he stood, gripping his limp arm with his other and tugging down suddenly, sharply, so sharply that he couldn't resist the grunt of absolute pain that escaped him jerking his shoulder back into its socket properly. Maybe this guy could fool others with his antics, but with his eyes Genji could see how dangerous he truly was. He couldn't be fooled...and this man couldn't be underestimated no matter how silly he seemed. "You paint yourself in the skin of a jester, but you are obviously much more dangerous than that. ...I'll respect your strength, whether you intend me to or not." At his words the mask-wearing Messiah seemed...confused at first, scratching his head as Boochie watched him with curious eyes from his shoulder. Was he considering the question...did he seriously have to think about who he was?
"Me?" he asked, pointing a comical finger at the tip of his own mask before twirling, and then posing with a flourish and crying out, "IIIIIIII'm BOOCHIE!!!" ...Bite. His little caped companion leaped onto his head and book a hunk of his green hair into its teeth, pulling chidingly enough to make him yelp again in pain. "OWOWOWOWOW! All right! All RIGHT! -Ahem- ...I'm just what you see before ya! 99% brawn and 22% brains! Companion to this fine man on my head here," the man pointed to his sheep friend which 'Baaaa'd' in response before he posed once more, rocket on his shoulder, eyes turned like a hero (along with his sheep which also posed) towards some unseen horizon...or just the walls, "You can call me...HAVOKMAN! Or Havok. Or whatever you want, except Boochie! But if you don't mind, Mr. Cotton Candyman, can we just skip this fighting biz?" A strange and sudden request, earning a scowl from the usually even-tempered young man. But for some reason Havok seemed genuinely bored, not at all interested in continuing this little spar, and with a sweatdrop and upturned palms in appeal he made his little request, "If we keep this up, you're definitely going to hit me! I don't wanna get hit! So why don't we just...pretend to fight! Or...I don't know, build a campfire or something? Wait it out? My Boochie here is a lovely singer!" Perhaps he should have considered the offer...his chances of winning seemed to be smaller and smaller the more he dealt with this man. However, Genji couldn't in good conscience give up just yet. "Forgive me, but I cannot stop fighting just yet," the heir answered in a calm voice, his gray eyes seeming to come alive as he fell into another fighting stance, "There are too many lives at risk to allow them to suffer the same fate I could have were it not for those friends who have moved on...for them, I must continue to fight and move forward. With this power...I believe this is the reason it was entrusted to me...so prepare yourself!" He couldn't have waited for a response from his foe in good form, but they both already knew the stakes. He moved across the distance with a lightning swiftness, the light of his hands sparking to life once more as he began an assault of palm strikes and jabbing pokes that he intended to use to weaken the man to the point that he could seriously damage him. So much of his aura was unusual, like a man and a shadow, he fluctuated between the two so freely it was hard to get a fix on just what and where to strike between them...but if he could only land one blow, one strike to disrupt that chaos and inject his own attack into the flow of things, he could learn something about this foe that called itself and personified Havok. His palm passed over the shoulder of his enemy as he seemed to worm his way around the attacks and even ducked completely backwards like something out of the Matrix to avoid a particularly sharp blow intended to hit him in the neck. Flipping his feet up and rolling backwards with that momentum, Havok's boot met with the underside of Genji's jaw so hard despite the 'accidental' feel of it that he saw stars for a moment, and yet he would not fall down from it. Havok came back to his feet, but before he knew it his foe was upon him again, a strike that had him dodging back and left, a kick that he hopped like he was jumping rope...his dodges were still good, but closer and closer the strikes came. He could feel it...Genji knew that he was finally starting to get the better of it, speeding up the exchanges, using the style that his grandfather had taught him. One palm strike gave way to an upward jab, the jab gave way to a downward chop, the chop disguised an underside thrust from his other palm, and then...a spin, a strike that whiffed just past his foe's stomach, but it backed him against the wall, surprise gripped his foe! His gray eyes widened...'NOW!'
His left palm struck squarely into the chest of his foe, slamming him against the wall...
...And simultaneously, he felt a small sting in the skin of his wrist. It didn't matter, though...he had landed. He could weaken his foe now and make this whole thing easier. Only...
"What?!" he asked in disbelief, eyes viewing the aura that continued to swirl with menace inside of his enemy, from one to the other, not a single change...not a single weakening. Hadn't his hands...?! ...And then he noticed. The sting in his wrist, the small clamping pain he could still feel. A weakening in the power swirling in his hands. It was that little sheep! Boochie! Biting tightly onto his wrist and not only that, it was sucking the very power out of his hands! The realization hit him a moment too late...a heavy blow to his face landed as the wild Messiah's masked forehead crashed directly into him, knocking him back a fair distance where he dropped to a knee, feeling the heavy toll of his actions and his unfamiliarity with this time, this place, starting to exhaust him beyond his reserves of energy. If only he had more time, perhaps he could...but what...what were these two that he was fighting?! Why couldn't he figure it out, even with these eyes?! "Pheeeeeeeeeeewwww!" the masked man slumped to the ground as though he were in some great relief, the sheep having let go of his enemy's wrist, it bounded across the floor and back onto his shoulder, settling down as though resting, "You sure saved me on that one, little buddy! You DA SHEEP!" he beamed beneath his mask, patting the companion on the head before resting his own back against the wall and speaking again, "Heyhey! We don't have to keep fighting, do we? I'm getting tired! I don't wanna fight anymore! Can't we play charades or something?! I'm great at that! This fighting stuff is the pits!"
No...not they couldn't stop. Genji grit his teeth as he knelt and watched his foe, forcing the power back into his hands. This fight wasn't over. He had to...somehow...figure out what this man was. For the sake of his friends, he couldn't let them fight this guy until they knew. Even if it cost him his life...
"Aww MAN! Don't get up...please?" the masked man whined...but his foe stood anyway, beckoning him to his feet, "Don't say I didn't WARN ya! My blood'll be on YOUR hands, ya know!" He kicked up to his feet and Boochie came with him. Genji smirked a little to himself and raised his shaking arms.
"Yeah..." the berry-haired heir smiled, "That would be my intention." 'when hours are yet required to thaw the ice?' 'the nights go by in lonely wakefulness...'
